man I got into the rabbit hole back in 2016/17 when I bought my first pair of audiophile headphones from Audio-Technica and my first DAC amp from fiio ever since i never went back to Skullcandy or beats.
I think both those brands are crap, Audio Technica M50s are solid...

have you ever listen to the dragonfly cobalt its about 50 euros more expensive. they are seen as one of the best phone dacs you can buy. so what makes this any difference? i do like THX sound. But will it be any better then the Dragonfly Cobalt?

@@Techoftomorrow hey man, I'm sure you've heard it millions and millions of times, but, you should check out guys like Dr Shawn Baker and "zero carb" type communities. And I don't necessarily mean zero carb, but people who were diabetics and on insulin for years, got off of it when they tried it. a secret few people know, is that you can still have sweet tasting stuff by using unheated raw honey, it contains an insulin like substance and digestive enzymes that make it easy on the bees and doesn't require your body to produce an insulin spike. I tried a combo of using the money for iced coffee and stuff like that and lots of fatty animal foods for energy, and I got rid of most of my pain from a chronic epididymitis (male nightmare), plus way less tendon pain and joint pain. they just want you to keep buying that insulin man, another doctor by the name of Perlmutter and Wiel have also talked about the link between cutting off insulin spiking sugar like fructose and carbs from grains, starches and the elimination of diabetes. you might want to check it out. if you wanted to go even further, check out a bit of a wacky dude by the name of Aajonus Vonderplanitz. unlicensed, but he defeated California's fda and cdc in court with regards to raw dairy consumption and the alleged dangers of it. went from being banned for decades to being sold at whole foods over there, and that's California you're talking about, a highly regulated state. anyway, I wish you well

Dragonfly isn't even on the top value products on its price range. Check the forum audiosciencereviews for more profound and TECHINICAL analysis (there's no "i think i can hear a difference", they are all measurements from expensive professional equipment). The best budget solutions are DAC + AMP on different products. Like Topping D10s for dac and JDS ATOM for headphone amp.
Hello. IPAD PRO 3rd generation 12.9 MODEL is USB C port. I would like to know if it can be used. And I would like to know if it is possible to connect THX ONYX using USB C HUB.
So that loud volume warning, I literally go day to day at volume level 2 on my Windows PC with my gaming headset, does this mean that's going to bump it up louder?
I think its about quality over decibel levels.
I use a $10 Apple usb-c dongle. Also has a mic input. Works better than my laptop headphone out. The only Apple product I'd recommend.

Personally I’m not a fan of MQA or tidal. I prefer Apple Music Hi-Res lossless 24bit 192khz. But audio is highly subjective and individual so rock on white what suits you. I was looking at this for my portable DAC, so thanks for the video. I’m still on the fence on it because it does do processing that changes the output audio. And for now (with dongle hell) I can use my desktop DAC Amp (if I zen DAC 2) with my phone if I’m away from home, but I wouldn’t call it portable, more static listening in a different place. But it’s good to know the THX Onyx could power my 300ohm Beyerdynamic DT770 pro headphones without any trouble.

Not enough power. Maybe for some people it’s fine but for my HD650s I don’t think it’s enough. My schiit magni heresy tho is way way more power than I need for 100 bucks

I've had two devices with THX linear amplification in them, the Onyx and Fiio Q3. Both have ended up blowing out and the treble ended up absolutely horrenduous sounding.
Just get an Apple dongle or Schiit Fulla 3 for gaming, both are cheaper and 99% of people won't ever tell the difference.

I personally thought this was a great product and no this was not a paid for review, WHY whenever someone like something some people think you had to be paid. I do not need to be paid to like quality audio gear.
Just one thing. Tidal sucks, you should tell that it's free until your trial is ended because they will grab your money from your account after the trial version after that you pay premium. Tidal just sucks the application is bugged, their support is dog garbage and SO many tracks they don't even have!
Will it work with oneplus phones? They have a different charging than other USB c phones called warp charge.

Here's a summary: Stay away from MQA.
The Onyx supports other formats way better than MQA (MQA is a LOSSY format and it's not even good and definately NOT master quality...)
For those interested, look for "MQA Deep Dive" on your favorite search engine.
Wow this is expensive. Not for me sorry. Also MQA is a bullshit tech, I have seen someone doing some research about it and it makes the audio worse. So yeah I would never buy it.
$200 is not expensive for a quality audio AMP/DAC that you can take and use with ANY device on the go...

I think the guy has a point, when ever you see a company taking down your review samples or content for no reason is a trigger for me that i should not buy products that feature that tech or hardware. And sorry for my aggresive language in the comment. I do look forward to a more budget oriented video when it comes to audio hardware, I think alot of us will apreciate it not just me.
