As a combat veteran who struggles with C-PtSD, manic depression, bi-polar syndrome, and chronic insomnia I can attest that these "monsters" are very real.
And they have a way of taking over your life and destroying the person you used to be. With all that said, thank you for your perspective on this video. You guys are awesome. And to all others out there fighting their own monsters: y'all are f*****g warriors, never give up!

Man you can't go wrong with Shinedown the lead singer has a voice to be reckoned with. You should check out his cover of Unchained Melody you will not be disappointed its not under Shinedown its under Smith and Meyers
I have seen Shinedown six times, they are absolutely amazing in concert, they are excellent songwriters, all of their songs are very deep, the lead singer dealt with addiction many years ago, and he has a song called Save Me written about that it is a great song.
Love Shinedown they speak about mental health. Just saw them 4/4 $1 from every ticket went to suicide prevention. Suggest one of there newer ones Dead 💀 Don’t Die 🔥🔥🔥

I've dealt with alcoholism my whole life. This song strikes the heart whether the heart wants it to or not. 😢 They always hit mental health hard on every album. Such an amazing band

@nero756 They are also some of the nicest guys out there. I've met them a few times while working at their shows. I'm a photographer for a radio station in Tampa and I shot pics for their meet & greets and their performances. Ì was at the Planet Zero album release party.
Shinedown has so many great songs. That are so Powerful. They're coming from a real and emotional place. You should really jump into the Shinedown rabbit hole....
Thank you for this one. I love this song, and the video gives it extra dimension. It's harsh but true if you think of all the human monsters out there and what makes them that way. It's a vicious cycle that happens in families sometimes and other times people are just insane or mean. It's up to us to break that cycle of abuse. If anyone out there, child or grown-up, is being abused, tell somebody you think you can trust. You don't have to live that way. There is hope. Grab it! ❤❤❤

Each one had their own monster. The lead singer's monster was his addictions. The little girl her monster was her grandfather. The widow is the little girl's mom but her monster was guilt. Her husband was in the service, he was home then got called out to duty and she was so angry she cheated on him and then he was killed.

True fact about my life i was so quiet n timid when i was in school that i was a loner n had learning disabilities so much so that i was bullied cause couldnt do 90% of what the kids could do. People were so hateful a guy even threw a book at me at one point n it was entitled how to commit suicide.
Great song great reaction saw them in concert I always think of my brother Michael when I see this video he was killed in Corpus Christi on his motorcycle. He had a military funeral like this. He died at 53 years old very tragic and my mom was going through chemotherapy at the time did three months later.

SHINEDOWN is the perfect rabbit hole to jump into... They dont have a bad song!! I'd be here all day suggesting songs...lol I suggest starting at their beggining and enjoy the jouney to now...They have a new release "Symtom of Being Human"...I recomend the live performance at a fairly recent concert in Wisconsin...you'll know it because the audeince has their phone lights on like candles!!!

Her dad a supposed good guy, abuser, her monsters linger with her.... :( this one gets me..
She got molested by her father as a kid. That made her a screwed up person never being able to truly attach to anyone that loved her. She was married to a marine and cheated the whole time he was away. He was killed in service and her lover was there at the funeral. She had visions of her younger self standing by her father. Her younger self was looking back at her begging to save her.

The way the video looked to Me is the Veteran Husband died the Wife Quickly moved on And while She is with Her new lover not giving a F about the husband/father who just died the Grandfather Her Father does the unspeakable to the grabd daughter thats the vibes I got from the video.

Shinedown is from same city as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jacksonville, Florida. They 1st played at a bar owned by widow of LS's late original singer, Ronnie van Zandt. Shinedown 1st covered this classic at the bar before they made it big.

Girl has traumatic life. Assaulted at a young age, then finally finds something good by finding a true love only for him to die in war. The young girl at the end looks back at her seeing who she might eventually become. At least that was my interpretation.
This clip shows the 'monsters' of each character. The woman's monster is the guilt of cheating on her husband while he is at war, and the girl's monster is her grandfather who abuses her.

I think it's because she was abused as a child, she grew up to be someone who hurts others, such as cheating on her man who died. I thought th child & woman were th same person. Th video just shows how she became a monster herself. At least, that's how I took it🍻
The version of the video with the animation seems to show a different meaning to the same song, where the "Monsters" are addictions.
