    This was just brilliant I can see it costing me money in the long term.My S200 action is fully customised but the stock is standard.I can see my dream stock now with adjustable butt pad stipling on fore end and whole of pistol grip with finger grooves,different finish and some wood removed to open out the trigger area.I shall be following these closely nice work.All the best Tony

    Hello my friend, Thank you for posting your footage of your adjustable cheek piece install.
    I've watched it in my works canteen with the sound off. You've shown people what can be achieved without a big machine shop. With a bit of will and fore thought it's surprising what can be done.
    Thank you.

      This Is a nice easy one, when I'm more competent with the filming I will do one of the really involved builds. Some can be super tricky to do 😀

    Hi Great informative video, so I’m wondering if it’s possible to do the same customisation on my HW99S which I’ve recently purchased. I realise this the entry level Wauhrach but I love the simplicity of the gun. However the stock is very low for using a scope, it needs to be about 25mm higher. How would I go about getting an estimate from you?

    how do you know how big of a piece of wood to cut out to make the comb on any rifle or shotgun, is there a rule of thumb or a standard ?

    • @tillysgunstocks
      @tillysgunstocks  Před 8 měsíci

      Probably the most important considerations are how big would you need it to be,to be able to hold it safely once chopped off, to rework it and get any datum faces machined in.
      Then you need to consider how much of the cheek piece you use. It needs to be a bit larger than the touch points you use
      Then lastly you need to have it styled so it looks balanced and mean 😉

      Hi Tony , are you looking to have your existing factory stock modified or a custom one built?

    • @tonyashton780
      @tonyashton780 Před rokem +1

      @@tillysgunstocks Hi my existing stock modified
      Adjustable butt pad
      Whole pistol grip stippling
      Pistol grip finger grooves
      Last 1/3 rd of forend stippling
      Re finishing staining stock
      Matt oil finish
      I think that covers it.

      Also anything you can do or recommend to remove wood around front of the trigger guard as I have big mitts.

    • @tillysgunstocks
      @tillysgunstocks  Před rokem +1

      @@tonyashton780 are you on the new airgunforum ? There's a couple of fellas that could do exactly what you need.
      Regards the trigger guard/removing wood when I get this stock done and built up I'll show you how I modified the action to remove the factory trigger guard entirely. I'll be making a similar replacement to what you'd see on the hft500 but it allows you to open up the slot a lot and modify the lead in to the trigger. Especially useful for larger hands. And it also Increases the footprint of the action in the stock and makes it all a lot more solid 😉

      @@tillysgunstocks No I don't really do forums or social media.The only people I have dealt with are Tony Wall at Sandwell & Phil Crampton at Rat Works.Two names kept cropping up regarding stocks your good self and Warren Edwards I believe.I only deal with recommended people!,can't be dealing with Fred in a shed and poor workmanship and two year waits.I have dealt with Air Arms for years and Claire and her team always deliver.
