The plastic thing is it's backbone. Also the ink sacks are used in sauces, the Italians use the ink in some spaghetti dishes. Very good Vids Nev, keep up the good work.

What would you compare fried squid to? Fried octopus? Can't really get those here to try frying them.

I've been watching these squid videos and think I want to give it a go. However I live in the midwest. It's anothe rmonth before they start really showing up right? Do you have an suggesting for making a trip out of squid fishing?
Yeah another month and it will start being good again, just make sure you have a good casting rod if your land based and ask the locals about tides and areas.

Yeah Sanny can be good at times, you get a few larger squid coming through. How do you find fishing mornington?
@@NevsFishing Its alright, average a 20 - 25 cm hood nothing to special but it still tastes great out of the pan!
