This Beach Has MEGA Squid Close To Shore?!

- In this video we fish a beach in search of some mega squid. To make it more interesting we put an artificial squid jig head to head with a silver whiting to see what would catch more squid!

Hi Nev where about’s is this what state nsw vic ? Maybe you should mention that more in your videos also what time of the day is good for squid fishing morning evening sundown low tide high tide maybe share more that info if possible
Great videos mate keep up the good work. Been using your float method with the jig for the last 2 weeks now and it works great. Ive been finding the smaller squid struggling to pull down the float but other then that its a great method. Thank you. also yet to catch one on white, in perth pink seems to be the hot colour at the moment but I got a few white jigs that im going to keep trying. As for video recommendation maybe deeper water kayak squiding at like 7-12meters maybe also trying padenoster rig 1 or 2 jigs on a traditional bottom rig vs working a jig or something like that. whatever video you make im gonna keep watching. LEGEND!!

Nah never fished for gars, I always see them around but definitely might have to target them

Just curious, why do you always keep the rod really low when bringing the squid in. Does it help stop the squid from getting off or something.

Great videao Nev. Can you please share with us your rod, reel and line details? Also, you usually have a meter leader under the float - but this time the jig was right under the float....what's the reason?
The float runs up the line to a float stopper. The whiting / jig is still that 1m from the float👍
Nev do you use a swivel to connect your lines or connect your braid directly to your leader line? Cheers!
Best thing about Vic is the Southern calamari and KG whiting. I was pissed when I first got sent there with work after leaving the luxurious fishery up north. By the end of it, as far as eating is concerned, I could live on KG and southern calamari for the rest of my days......and anyone who thinks whiting don't fight, obviously havnt been fishing for KG whiting on light gear. For dinner, I'd trade barra anyday for KG, and as calamari is my favourite seafood, nothing beats southern calamari.

I'm honestly not sure, its very weedy close in so would be hard to fish with soft plastics productively

You Need to find areas with weed beds. And I have the most luck fishing the run out tide from high tide to half way. Give it 3 or 4 hours.

@@matthewthekiwispearo9800 no one asked exact location just what state and even if he mentioned beach name how big is the beach it’s not exactly marked saying there are squid here and most places you can find squid it’s not about location i am just interested in which state and if it’s NSW is south north i fish south coast of Sydney and there is millions spots and great fish just wondering what other areas are good That’s all it’s no big deal
