This video made me come to conclusion that this is gonna a be my first bike next month.
Stance Life did you get it?? I’ve been thinking about it
@@CLSGL Same, there is something about the Bolt. It has everything the Iron 883 but cheaper. I personally like the aftermarket parts from Low and Mean and think with their seat and short fender it blows the default 883 away in terms of looks. I really wanted to see someone just unleash in a straight line and this video did the job!
Stance Life I can’t decide, this or a bmw s1000rr, they’re completely different bikes but I’m loving both of them
Man wouldn't mind having one at all I like how clean the Yamaha's shift nice and clean I got a 98 1200cc vmax love it
its ben a year. how's the bike?
Yeah he made a mistake on the exhaust but he rides and reviews hundreds of bikes. Shawn’s the man.
I'm stunned right now. Always been a Harley only guy but after seeing this I would definitely ride this around
Unknown KansasBoy agree man ...it’s not a copy of a Harley anymore but a competitive cruiser
Looks like a Harley, performs like a Yamaha. Best of both worlds.
Everyone comes to their senses eventually.....when they get tired of dealing with Harley
@@backyardbraaapn1017 I just do my own work and made relationships with local reputable bike shops near me and get the same quality work for the cost of parts and my labor.
Got the 2015 R Spec with 1500 miles for 3800$. Great price and ZERO regrets!
What a steal.
Picked up one of these, it's a ton of fun on the back roads. Great video
I got my 2014 R spec this spring 2017 and still love it! Quick and very nimble. Good on gas as well.
I'm getting this bike in 2 years, already started saving!
I want a different bike every other week so I'd be shocked if you still like the same bike in 2 years. Once you get your dream bike and the honeymoon phase is over you will immediately start looking at other bikes.
@@Steve-ec6ed Dude its going to take me 2 years to save for one very affordable motorcycle. In the country I live we don't get to change vehicles that often, so its going to be alright.
@@s.spambot9095 I bought me a Yamaha Bolt a few weeks ago, and I'm loving it; good luck with your savings!
@@s.spambot9095 good luck to you then brotha, hope you get it.
@@Steve-ec6ed Thanks for the good wishes!
Had my 2018 model a good 2 years. Lot's of aftermarket stuff on it now. Looks vintage cool. It could use a 6th gear though. Other than that it is super reliable and handles really well. Very forgiving.
Just bought a 14' yesterday and couldn't be more excited!
I’ve had mine for a month now. I love it!!!!! 👍🏻🏍
After a year of owning one and now having added a Cobra tuner, I can definitely say I'm gonna continue riding it for some time.
I'm a Harley guy and told my son to get a Yamaha bolt for his 1st bike
Looks did not attract me when it was first unveiled, but since then, the looks have grown on me!
I think Yamaha is probably making the coolest metric cruisers on the market right now.
Lol, you need to get out more
@@backyardbraaapn1017 Sounds like you do too?
@@backyardbraaapn1017 have you bot seen the stryker or the raider?
I love the way that bike looks man. Friggin' sweet!
Same engine as the v star 950's if I recall correctly. Good bullet proof engine. Looked at them before. A great bike to customize.
Definitely not a stock exhaust. It's a Baron slip-on exhaust.
I knew it !!!
Definitely, i owned a 2014 Bolt and the stock exhaust is BUTT fuckin ugly and doesnt sound too great.
Dave O dude it sounds exactly like the one I just spent a week with. So no matter what it’s still a badass sounding bike!!!!
Dave O j
Was just looking for that comment 😂
every time i feel down while in my 4th year in college i just look at this video and it keeps me going! one more year and im gonna start savin up for this bike.
A year has gone by .
@@joecamel6835 graduated! im gonna buy my bike in a few months. but opt for a rebel 500 tho. soooo excited
what beautiful scenery , you should put more clips like that.
I just got a 2018 yamaha bolt spec r.. love it..
Love your videos. I have been wanting this bike since I first seen them, but I currently ride a suzuki intruder 1500 which I really like.
It actually looks pretty sick. That is no way a stock exhaust. Sounds mean with whatever it’s got on it.
Over had mine for about a week now and love it runs great and is pretty fast the only thing I could possibly say isn't great is the big airbox on the right side but it's not that bad comfy seat and rides smooth
After seeing this video, that's gotta definitely be my first bike. I'll start saving money
Thanks for sharing man.. seems like a fun bike
Hey I have a 2015 bolt r-spec . It doesn’t want to start and the back tire locked do you have an idea what this can be ?
Test rode this yesterday. Granted I’m used to my S40 BUT wow it was exciting. Big ol smile like your first ride ever. Hey btw anyone wanna buy a Suzuki Savage?
Damn I really like that bike! Ive seen a lot of your videos and I like most of the bikes you review but I think this is one i gotta get 👍 sadly I only ever see V-Stars for sale around where I live
Not sadly. V stars are awesome
That bike sounds great. Really.
Steven S. It’s not stock pipes but even the stock pipes sound AMAZING on this bike. Check out the video I’m dropping on the newer Bolt this Tuesday!!!
i like your channel. from country of georgia
Nice Bolt and a good growl! Yamaha has a 1-yr. warranty new.
Did not expect that sound .... wow !
Thanks for this vid. I decided years ago that I wanted this bike. It was such a shame I had just made my first bike purchase and saw that this was a brand new bike at the time. My question is does it feel like a cruiser. My Yam was in between and had me sitting up straight which made it easy on my back. It would be a plus if it was somewhat upright for my 5'5 height. Oh does the digital gauge light up at night?
Is having just the one digital screen perfectly adequate? I got to resist the impulse of wanting a bunch of analog read outs.
What a nice sound !!!!!
I bought a new Bolt in 2020. I also have 3 Harleys and a Victory. The Bolt is my favorite ride for running around the rural roads.
I like everything but the invisible digital speedo. Give me an easy to read analog speedo that I can glance at without thinking while in the mountain twisties.
Nice ride, simple and clean
I'm pretty new to motorcycles. I currently have a 650, is it even worth eventually upgrading to a 950, or should you just skip it and go for like an 1100? Don't want to buy a new bike and immediately want to change again.
The similarities between this and my 2013 Sportster 48 are crazy and make me miss it.
Shawn, what would you prefer as a first bike for a beginner. The Kawasaki Vulcan 650 or the Yamaha bolt???
Does Bolt run out of gear feeling on highway? Like engine stressing and turning faster then it should or does decent job without breaking itself apart.Thank you
Great stock sound!!! Wow...
I like your side mirrors,, need to get some like yours...so low pro
nice review thanks. I want one
The handlebar seems canted to the left just a bit and not quite perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bike. Yes?
Is this a good bike for new riders. Thinking this will be my first bike
It is a fun bike. I love my 2018 bolt. Fun, and dependable.
Warranties are usually 1 yr from in service date.
With the infinite aftermarket is there a better gauge than stock?
All I hear from that bike is: ooooorgaaaaaaaasm!!!!!!! 🤤🤤🤤❤️
Personal opinion. Try to lower your mic's input or something or get it a little bit more far from your mouth , other than that, awesome video ! Great bike !
Ik this is an old video but I need an 1100 rebel blacked out qhat would you charge me to ship my way 2023 or 22 male me a good price bro
I want one of those now !
Such a good sounding bike
This or a shadow 1100? have a shadow 750 now looking to get something a little bigger and something that scares me just a lil bit
That is a gorgeous bike
So the bolt is a trim package of the v star or is it it’s own thing.
I want one now lol
Thinking about this bike for my first instead of the rebel cmx 500 because of size and power, the rebel is just so small when sit on it.
That looks to have some sort of forward control kit on it
Hi Guys you should do A Night Run on This Bike so we can see how Awesome it lights up, I know I would love to see that, I Love Riding it feels so Awesome being out in the open.
do you dend bike aut of america
like Albania.?
It's got plenty of power for most cruiser rider and it sounds great. What more could a rider ask for? Probably an Indian Scout but I can find a used Bolt for $5000 or less. I will definitely not find a decent Scout for that. It's also great for beginner riders. Another title the Scout doesn't have
I like the bike but hate the gauge that would be the first thing I'd change lol. I'm a Sportster rider myself but I could see myself owning a bolt.
How much is it costing you to ship a bike? I keep getting quotes to ship my bike between $700-$900 from different people. It’s nuts!
Is that a Baron or Cobra slip on?
Is the digital gauge backlit because I can’t see it?
Hey Fellas, great video! Any chance you guys get in a 2018 Bolt (not R-Spec) to review? Haven't seen any videos on it yet.
Good bike I have one. Except for the one in the video not actually having stock pipes this review still apply to the base model 2018 Yamaha bolt. Same look and everything
i know its an old vid but has anyone got any experience between one of these and a Vulcan 900. I bought the VN900 because it was what i wanted and have zero regrets its awesome, but one of those was sitting next to it and i kind of wish i had taken it for a blat... i jumped up from a Ninja 250 so its worked well!
I've never tried a Bolt, but I would guess it's a pretty different experience. You have a traditional mid-size cruiser, so that would compare to the VStar, Boulevard, and Shadow. I guess this is more like a Harley or bobber experience.
bolt is about 50 lbs lighter and 50 more cc. might be off slightly on those numbers
It also seems that the Star moniker of Yamaha has been discontinued. You, for one, cannot find their website on the internet anymore - it diverts you to the Yamaha website, rather than the "Star" brand.
O cilindro traseiro aquece muito como as HD?
I have a bolt and i can tell ya thats not a stock pipe. Great vid though.
Cheef Cherokee yeah it's not,I own one my self
How is this for some touring/cruising?
@@davecroucher6063 Cruising is perfect, nice and smooth. As for touring, I wouldn't really recommend unless you're not going too far. I usually get around 45ish mixed highway/city. on the 3.4 gallon tank.
What's all this I hear about the bolt having a "death wobble" when riding one or no handed? Any issues?
Nice review, I have a 14 r spec, but man after watching your Kawasaki voyager review. Kind of thinking about going back to a big cruiser. Traded in my 06 Roadstar for the the bolt.
Ya know, I have been thinking the same thing. I did just get my car paid off, so may have to see what I can do. I do have another bike, but is an old VLX 600. My first cruiser, couldn't let her go.
3 bikes isn't bad, have variety!
I would love 7, one for each season. But would have to build a bigger shop to house them all, LOL!
For sure, ya know I after watching this review, I had noticed my throttle had slack in it as well. Took care of that the other day.
I hear that, LOL. Its a really good bike, I work like 8 miles from my house. So saves me big money like $5 a week in gas.
Does it feel small for you? Im about same height as you are. I´m thinking of buying Yamaha Bolt myself. Love the look of it. Greetings from Finland ;)
Finally somebody tall who reviewed it, i am going to look at a '15 with 1100 miles tomorrow and i was nervous about height but im definitely gonna give it more bonus points now, if anybody reads this i'll lyk my opinion
What did you think of it?
@@monsterrateh3685 from memory it was as pretty good, he had some suspension mods done to it so it felt a lot smoother than a stock ride, but it wasn’t bad for me, I’m 6’2 and my position was comfortable enough for every day commuting, now a long distance idk I think my back would’ve gave out after so long
Hey up from the UK! I'm a new rider at 39 years old, 5ft9 and 190lbs or so. I love the retro look, I'm torn between the Triumph Bonnie T100 and the Bolt. I know ones a retro standard, and the other a cruiser, but have you had a chance to compare the two?
I like the seat on the bonnie but I've risen neither.
“It has a sick looking digital gage”😂
whats about that exhaust... this is not stock or?!
Does anyone know what exhaust is on that bike? I'd like to know, looks like a slip on.
+Sean Kerr interesting, sounds really good.
+Daniel Dreckman it's a Baron Exhaust
+Sean Kerr you're most welcome Sean, great review, I enjoy watching a lot of them. Cheers buddy
Only complaint I have on my 2014 yamaha bolt is the digital speedometer is useless in the sun. The glare makes it unreadable. Other than that, I love it. Right now it's my only transportation, so I've gotten to know it pretty good.
Square gauge on a circular bezel... BLASPHEMY!!!
Persian messenger: THIS IS MADNESS
Definately needs an aftermarket gauge setup
Between this one an the iron 883 which would you recommend?
Bolt, hands down.
I’m trying to decide between a bolt or rebel for my first bike. What’s the top speed on the bolts and which would y’all recommend for a new rider?
I suggest sitting on both. Those are very different bikes. Ride both if you can
Dan Manthe Thanks will do
First gear is really touchy but is amazing
Very nice Bolt , she has a nice roar wow.. Ones I test road weren't that long . Yamaha gives a 1 year warranty , at least that's what I got on my Vstar . They they try to get you to buy the ext warranty ..
+Sean Kerr anytime brother , ok this bike has a slip on exhaust.. Wow. If only 500 miles , I wonder if he even changed the break in oil yet. May be a fuel tuner under the seat, maybe not. I didn't hear too much popping ..
I doubt any fuel correction watching again I can hear it popping and spitting. Not a lot, but can hear it . There is also a sweet ecu flash available for the bolts from IVan .. Did it to my 1300 night n day .. Quick sale here .. Won't last long ..
Que hermoso suena la motocicleta.
Yeah lol i have watch many videos on this bike i think its great but that is not stock exhaust aftermarket forsure
kool pipes love the thunder
I wish we had roads like that NJ, we are the worst packed state in the country. Can't wait to get out of NJ
Go to South Jersey in-between Philly and Atlantic City. All roads like this
Luv the vids, especially the words of wisdom. But if you had to choose what would it be - Bolt or Iron?
TheHewkii I’m trying to choose between these two rn haha
Erick Corral I’ve pretty much decided to go with the Iron (or Forty Eight ha ha)
My 1st bike was a Yamaha so I'm partial to them behind hd...
My Bolt always starts and doesn't leak fluids like my Harley did. Just saying
Price?
Good looking bike. #science
Sounds good
How tall are you to figure out comfort, I'm 6'3
My wife has this bike and she loves it and it fits her like a glove she's 5"6 I'm 6"2 and in my opinion it's to small for me.The only thing I don't like about it is the over size air box. However after saying that the better half wouldn't swap it for anything
I was thinking it would be an excellent lady bike.
Hi srk, do you ship bikes overseas
