Two things to correct
1. Kato wasn't trying to choke the yakuza guy. He was successfully choking the guy
2. Creepy hair kid(forgot his name) trapped the onion giant which teleported him to, I think, a moon prison. I don't remember if they actually say where it sends them
Honestly I never understood the net/teleport gun. Why would Gantz design a weapon to safely teleport aliens away from earth when the whole point was to kill aliens and stave off invasion? It’d make more sense to just be another way to kill the aliens

@@jacobbruen9231 well, majority of the aliens in Gantz is Illegal Immigrants and they doesnt really want to conquer the earth, they just want to live peacefully. But Gantz make them a perfect dummy for the trainee to experience real fight
@@jacobbruen9231 it wasn't made clear though i doubt it teleports the alien safely. It was like another method for those who wouldn't like the idea of killing. Like kato for example. It transports half of the alien, if it transports the whole thing, the idea of safe transporting might be possible but it wasn't.

Hmm...Gantz is far more team-related than any of the other death-game anime shown so far. Playing the manipulative route is no good when you lose the trust of your teammates.

So I'm supposed to believe that two healthy teenage males in obviously-good athletic shape can't climb a wall that's only up to their shoulders. The plot kind of falls apart in the first scene.
Seriously though, there was even a guy pulling them up lol
More than that, I'm not an expert on trains at all but the train should not have been traveling so fast pulling into a station. They passed at least 5 platforms and there were more further down so they ran almost to the edge of the tunnel.
The driver also should have seen them in thst amount of time as they were well lit due to the station lights.
Next up the tracks some places have a safety on the tracks so if someone falls it alerts the conductor but even more importantly the bum was making contact with both tracks which are electrically charged and would have killed him nearly instantaneously. The first scene is alot of contrivances but as they say it's better for a contrivance to get the characters into trouble than out.

@@ralcogaming7674 if you actually watched the show or read the manga, you would have known the train was the express train that doesn't stop. There was also some problems with the bum which is why they couldn't climb back up
The "Bro I can't die like this, I am carrying HENTAI!" line is gloriously realistic.

And also Kei doesn't have plot armour. He dies and get's fucked over with double ressurrection. The copy also dying.

This is one of those shows that I just.. couldn't get behind. All of the characters were either unlikeable or while nice often did dumb things that defy common instinct. Like begging for fights and asking for bad reputations practically. It was just so weird :/

Gantz: O was so much better in my opinion. The weakest part of Gantz was its characters so to have them cut down to the bare essentials letting it just serve as an overblown action romp was the best thing they could do.
Depends on if you read the manga (which explains the backgrounds) or only this fast and content free Anime Adaptaion (the only good parts were to hear how the guns sound and the music) while charactere development from the manga was missing completely (the anime even only made it to mission 3, where the manga is really starting)
@@Goldenkitten1 and thats why i love it, its kinda boring to see that in other mangas the protagonist and his friends always win whatever it is, but in gantz no one is the protagonist really because they can die anytime.
@@ppjuice5976 I don't have a problem with characters being realistic. People have problems, they have obsessions, they have deviant qualities and to just put it bluntly aren't perfect or a hero. And I am totally ok taking that approach, if anything it makes you connect more. But the problem with Gantz wasn't that they had human foibles that could make them unlikable, it was that they were BORING.
Gantz is amazing- the issue when the aliens come to his school is literal perfect

2:13 - may be Moscow metro is different, but in all guides it is exactly what is reccomended - do not touch the rails and lay down in the deeper part between them. Under any circuimstances do not try to outrun the train.

Can I just say you made some mistakes with your train justification. The train in the story is a metro train travelling which are normally built with a top speed of 60mph and the speed when nearing a platform is significantly lower as they have notoriously high breaking distances. They are not in rubber tyres but steel wheels. They should have gone to the Crawlspace available underneath the platform. It was created for this scenario
They could throw that man over the platform but couldn't climb up . Please explain what happened.

All that may be true but if I remember the scene right just as they were near the end of platform and thought to be safe announcement came through that the train wont stop at that station and is just passing through .
I think even when passing through a station they slow down a bit though .
Or I mixed it up with the ending scene where Kei after being chased by other people in same situation as him because Gantz declared him an alien for getting close to 100 points/freedom also ends up running away from a train.
And let's talk about when the adult alien got rained over. Like I was confused when he said we could possibly run the alien over, Didn't he just say that we cannot interact with any object? Just a throw out.

at the beggining while they probably should have laid down under the train. it wouldent be able to stop fast enough, but if you run from it, it will be much slower by the time it reaches you

btw to tell you something about trains, for the opening sequence when the 2 guys run from the train..... they can actually just sit down in-between the train rails , there's a large open space there big enough to specifically avoid an scenario where a drunk guy falls in there, and gets run over by a train. (unless ur in a country with shitty train safety laws)

Every track is made differently with different specifications as a majority are done by private companies. One might be able to fit a person while another would not.

A underrated anime finally getting the attention it needs
I don't think they can interact with everyday objects. Instead, I think it's the opposite way around. For example, they couldn't open the door but the car managed to hit them. So I don't think that stealing the car would have been a viable option
They couldn't open a window which may be Vegas rules (no windows can be opened) the yakuza guy opens a door to leave the room. And given that they can return to their lives I think they'd have to be able to touch stuff.
No, they can interact with objects. In one of the arc, one of them drove this guy's car because he was about to be killed by an alien

OMG YES! I love Gantz! The manga is so much better doe, but yet we can't complain because we atleast got an anime(wouldn't mind a modern remake ala FA Brotherhood cuz...there's so much of the manga not in the anime and that final filler acr was....a let down.
Anyway what I meant to say is thank you for covering this little known, fairly underrated anime. But don't tell me you're not gonna give us a how to survive the Temple mission. That mission was crazy and I kinda need to know how to survive if I"m not Kei. xD

This is exactly why I said that I wouldn't mind a remake of Gantz in the style of FA Brotherhooh, because a lot of the manga(Gantz) got left out of the anime.
And FA got a good remake I pray and hope we get something similar for Gantz(although I don't think it will happen)
The saddest thing of all is that the manga actually had a decent and satisfying conclusion to the whole thing. With the anime at the end, it just had people feeling like that Krusty the Clown meme, going "what the hell was that?!"
Agreed it was one of the best manga endings answered a lot of questions too. Hope we get a new anime one day

But I was informed that he recently, this year, gained the rights back/deal ended or some shit (which is most likely bs).
It makes me really sad, but I hope we get a remake like FMA Brotherhood some day.

There is Rape, I think even gangrape...not sure, Alienrape, child abuse and death, mass shooting, mass murder in a school, blackfacing, brutal bullying, sexism and probably many more things that you could never make into an Animated Series.
Gantz is such a good Manga that it should stay this way. For todays standards it's way to "Hardcore" and disturbing to be shown and would just summon one shitstorm after the other.

Here I was reading the manga last year and it was animated
Oh...I just watched the recapped live action movie,didn't know this was an anime until now.
Actually earth was invaded by aliens and Gantz is an advanced weapon tech sent by higher beings but not the game itself. The game they played serves no purpose other than forcing players to annihilate aliens by humans that received the tech, probably as a way to prepare them from the imminent planetary invasion. Its still a good thing even though many people died as it helps strengthen the Gantz members.
The higher beings world was also invaded but the alien didnt succeed because theyre quite almost omnipotent unlike the advanced alien race that relies only on advanced weaponry and their giant physique.
Whats insane is Gantz is capable of storing human 'souls' or consciousness or whatever you like to call it in a form of data. The black ball is literally some form of 3d printing tech that can copy & paste every single DNA. Which means damaged limbs or death doesn't matter. Thats also how it transport the players around. It literally copy and paste your original DNA information from one place to another.
The higher beings doesnt need the black ball to do it as it can materialize dead members without it similar to the black sphere. However, they didnt want to interfere with humanity and only chose to help because they want order on earth. Its ambiguous with what they meant as they view humans as nothing more than a speck of dust.
