  • This was a life changing trip to see the chief of cape coast and the slave castle. This is somewhere all people of African descent need to visit.

Oh thanks this brings back some great memories from when I visited back in 2001 I continue to tell my fellow Jamaican and black people all over that we have to go back to the motherland. I felt like a queen when I visited. I truly shed a tear when I saw the reception that Asafa got because this is how I felt when I visited. Everyone I came in contact with welcomed me like a long lost family member. I appreciate and will always cherish those memories. Ghana 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 🇬🇭 and Jamaica 🇯🇲 to the world. We sure were taught the wrong stuff in school it really was divide and conquer as Mrs Powell said. Hold your heads up fellow Black we truly has royal blood line in our DNA.💐🌸🪷💮🇬🇭🇯🇲🇬🇭🇯🇲🇬🇭🇯🇲🇬🇭🇯🇲🇬🇭🇯🇲

Brilliant 👏🏾 I'm actually visiting for the very first time in May and I know I'm going to very emotional 😢 every Jamaican school should make the effort to organize youth exchanges to the mother land 👊🏽🇯🇲🇬🇧

This is so emotional. 😢 I did the tour in October and the memories are flooding back. Our ANCESTORS paid a gruesome price, paving a path for us.

Amazing. I used to see Asafa just on TV running and winning races. Now I get to see him off the track visiting and really enjoying himself with his wife in Ghana. Thanks for visiting and you always welcome. We are truly one people. Looking at you guys, it just seems like you've already been living in Ghana for long. You just fit in. RESPECT!!

From the way Mommy behaves, y'all should know she is royalty....she carries herself regally, she is there in protective mode for her child in a new environment, ( u better believe that), and she is not screaming to be on camera as she knows her worth. Very royal.

From hence we came... Not as slaves but became enslaved people. The tears flowed voluntarily😞😞😞

As a Ghanaian, I grew realizing how strong and resilient my Jamaica’s are. I see it in sport and Dance. Will be such an honor to have a Jamaican as my future wife 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤

I felt it brother Powell. The dungeon aspect touched my heart. This has made me love you and our Afro Jamaican brethren more. I have to also include, that you are a good husband. Your love for your wife is exactly what many good women seek for. THE MOST HIGH BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY MY BROTHER...

I am a Jamaican who takes pride in my African ancestry, so this video was difficult to watch , the tears were inevitable! Asafa , you need to walk us through the video , it will be interesting to know what your thinking as you stood where your ancestors stood! Thank you both for sharing your experience with us! I definitely will be taking this trip with my Ghanaian cousins!

My God, thanks for sharing such an emotional journey of our history. Let us continue to " emancipate ourselves from mental slavery, for though others may free the body, none but ourselves can free the mind" Marcus Garvey October 31, 1937. It's time for us "to love and be love". Stop the hate, war and killing our foreparents suffered too much for us to have so much hate, envy and bitterness towards each other. One love Powell family wherever in the world you live.

This was painful to watch but very important to know the truth of our history. It would be good to have this documented by us and taught to our kids. We should stop killing each other. Love is the greatest gift.

A trip to the castles in Ghana is life changing. The resilience and strength of our ANCESTORS is a testament of who we are today.
