- part time HGV driving vlog EP 3
today marks my first agency shift within the hgv industry, specifically the bin refuse waste industry, hopefully this vlog provides a small insight into what that type of work is like, day to day financially and my personal opinions on what its like tips and hints ect.
i covered a standard shift starting at 0700hrs and finished at 1400hrs.
Well put together this 👏
Think alot of new drivers will be grateful to see this , it can be nerve racking 😀 I remember my 1st agency job , here's your paper work and keys 30 drops on a courier company , off you go basically, there not all the same you find some really good jobs too , I love agency work .
Keep them coming mate 👍
Thanks buddy means a lot 😁 and 100% correct …. Here’s the keys and paperwork off you go 🤢😂
Excellent vid and absolutely how it is. Thanks. I have recently started with an agency and had the same apprehension about being thrown in at the deep end. My experience, as yours, was that it could not be further from the truth. Every company that I went to in my first few weeks couldn't have been more supportive. I could detail all the examples here but you would lose the will to live. I am retired and working part time and have had no problem getting work. I have to say, I rather fancy having a go at the bins!
Thanks carl!!!! And good on you for getting stuck in 👌🏻😀
Bin wagon drivers are some of the best drivers in the world. What some of them do with a class 2 lorry on a daily basis is nothing short of mastery.
You make it look easy... drive one of them around a housing estate ... there are lots of them... cars parked on tight roads that are not designed for HGVs. The level of concentration required is not comparable with main road driving.
I take my hat off to them....
I seem to be catching up with your older videos, as I've said before you've a good way of putting stuff across and the help you must be giving people wanting to drive is just amazing 👍
Thanks that means a lot

You seem like a Top bloke and it's just really impressive what your doing, I see the subscribers are climbing 👍
I find your videos very interesting, extra points for being military, I've nothing to do with the forces but just a big supporter 👍
This video is from Super trucker series a few years ago, Metcalfe Farms Haulage
They employ a few exmilitary drivers, I wonder if someone there would do an interview with you about working for them especially being exmilitary or starting in the haulage industry in general.
Just a random idea 👍

Great video! Got my second agency shift tomorrow but first long distance drive was feeling but nervous but after watching few of your videos feel abit more relaxed my main worry is working the tacho machine!!
Check out my video on it but there’s no tacho on waste trucks mate
Class video again mate. Makes me want to get stuck in!!
haha thanks mate they get better thats for sure
Class video!! I'm a loader at Rotherham Council so it's very informative from a driver pov
Glad it was helpful!
Absolutely loved this!!
thanks mate, actually enjoyed the job even though the wind was making it insanely difficult lool
When moving bins, don’t walk backwards, always pull behind you
New subscriber here. Love these videos mate keep 'em coming.
Thanks 1 million Jamie for the support means a lot😊
@@TRUCKERKEV I've done all my theories passed my module 3a after the second attempt. 1st attempt I ran over a cone so had to do that again. So like I said passed 3a and my CPC so just have to get my 3b done then I'm away.
Definitely going to sign up for a few agencies to get started.
Thank you 👍👍
good stuff!!!
That was very informative thank you for sharing that
appreciate it mate😉
Awesome vlog friend!
Thanks man hopefully it helps some people 🤷🏽♂️, also your thumbnails are epic 😅🔥🔥
At most councils/companies, the drivers (including agency) the drivers are required to get out and help, not uncommon doing commercial or rural collections for the driver to be working alone
Just going off what I was told on my first shit tbh but thanks 😊
Only if they are trained to use the business end of the lorry.
I just started at red trucks on waste disposal 16.80 pH hard work as I work on own too 😫
I know you’ve done other clips regarding pay. Could you give an average monthly take home? Or is it too varied?
Looks like a Dennis?
Hi Guy claiming on youtube he makes 24£/h plus 50% extra for night work. I dont believe it
