    I purchased this apartment for 126 000 USD, 2 years back. Now the prices got doubled, about 2200 USD per 1 sq.m of the house.

    Hi olga it's very interesting to see your new original apartment and really looking forward to see your new apartment after complete renovation. Apartments in my country China are also very similar, there are two three options original, rough renovation and complete renovation. But most of young people like to buy original without any renovation for a customized renovation demands and also from budget reasons. However the price in most tier one or tier two even tier three cities are above 2200 dollars per square meter, let alone in mega cities like Shanghai Beijing Hong Kong Taipei or Shenzhen GuangZhou. The actual official salary is roughly around 1200 dollars on average in these mega cities, but living costs are also very expensive, so actually young people in most cases couldn't afford to buy an apartment alone but in most cases ended up by having financial help from the parents.

    This was another interesting video for me. I stayed in an apartment in Vysgorod, near Kiev. I was there 3 months the summer before last, and again 3 months last summer. They were doing renovations of some kind, both summers. The noise was the same, as the background noise, in this video. I didn't like it, but the apartment, and view, were great, also it was not expensive to stay there. But the 2nd time I went back there, I was surprised, they were still doing renovation, and it was only in one or two apartments, down the hall from me. I've done this type of work myself, in America, so I was always curious, as to what they were doing. And I could never figure out, what that tool was, that made that noise? Anyways, the apt. you showed, looks great, and with extra storage space. My impression of construction in Ukraine, is that it is excellent, but they take too long to complete things !

      I wonder if they frame with studs metal or wood and add drywall or just plaster over the cinderblock and embed wires in conduit,.
      I watched someone's new home build in Russia and a lot was 'chiseled' out in the brick which is crazy to me, they actually have a tool that channels out the brick !! They did attach drywall in a few spots but I think it was costly and not the washroom and kitchen

    • @TheCroupier74

      @@Sunnbuzz Yeah, it’s the same in Australia, not much hammer drilling on houses if any and when you buy an apartment it is already fitted out except for furniture and maybe curtains.
      I have been out to a few of my wife’s projects in Kyiv and really the technique will depend on the clients budget, more expensive for gyprock and I have only seen hung on metal stud walls, electrical conduit again depends on budget, you don’t need building inspection and it does take up real estate on these small apartments, cheaper option is plaster but you want to find a good plasterer as a lot of the time the walls might be a bit wonky and getting a dead level surface can be tricky.

      The more correct expression here will be 'completion'. It's a new appartment building, were the units typically are delivered like this. The main tasks to do are to finish the surfaces; plaster the walls, ceiling, tiles, possible wooden panels on one or more walls, flooring, install kitchen and hook up piping, eletric in the different roms. Usually no designers involved, the owners pick out the prefered materials, colours, kitchen, tiles and so on, and hire someone to do the different jobs then carefully supervise the work. As with most, it much come down to money, how much are you willing to spend and in how short time. One reason the appartments are delivered unfinshed like this is that gives flexibility to finish it over a longer time frame, 4-8 months+?, as income and money allows for the locals. If money no big issue, naturally one can hire a designer and let them take care of everything, 2-3 months? As in all countires, there are good designers and craftsmen, and there are less good. Don't go in the trap to 'save a few bucks', hire some cheap guys and in the end need to pay another company to redo everything. It happens over and over again. Do background checks, get references. Maybe you get to know some other people in the city were you want to buy, that have similar jobs done, and can give good advice. To make a appartment easy to sell further down the line, one should keep to generally 'neutral' colours and surfaces, light and modern

    They can not sell apartments like that in the USA for a good reason neighbors are not going to like major construction going on and all the noise that goes with it

    • @Olga_Reznikova
      @Olga_Reznikova  Před 2 lety

      While there is nobody living, nobody is bothered by construction. But once people will start living, they will limit noisy works to couple of hours a day.

    I have to be honest here, this construction work would never pass in the U.S. Also I don't understand why you can't take your baby stroller to your apartment. Is it because of limited space on the elevator? Thanks for the video, as always.

    • @Olga_Reznikova
      @Olga_Reznikova  Před 2 lety

      No, you can take stroller to elevator and even to apartment but if your apartment is small 1 bedroom apartment, and you are coming from outside (where 5-6 months a year we have dirt outside), you may not want to bring it to apartment actually. First, to keep apartment clean and second, to save the space.
      So option to keep it safe somewhere outside of apartment is very big bonus.

      as time go by there will also in ukraine be more and more inspectors, controllers, rules and forms within contruction to give more people their share of the pie. But as of now they are able to do things more simple. It works.
