  • Might this be Lofoten Islands most breathtaking view ? Norway’s Lofoten islands has a seemingly endless list of stunning mountain hikes, especially in the summer, but this hiking trail up to Håen from the island of Væroya might just be the best of a very impressive bunch.
If you’re wondering where to visit in Norway, whether it be for a hiking adventure or simply to enjoy some of the best scenery in the world, the Lofoten Islands in Norway should definitely be at the top of the list.

Never seen a tunnel with a crab that large! Is that a Norwegian king crab?

Tunnel crabs are just build different, not to be messed with!
We are tipping that this is the final boss of the island.

No its not. Vær in this name means fiskevær, or fishinghamlet.

That’s interesting because of what information we could find is that it’s means weather island. We happily stand corrected, do you have a different source?
      From Wikipedia:
“Den norrøne formen av navnet var Veðrøy. Den første delen av navnet, veðr betyr «vær» og henviser til tøffe værforhold og at øya ligger værhardt til. Den siste delen, øy, henviser til at det er ei øy. Historisk har navnet blitt skrevet Værø.”

@@Becomenorwegian I was just assuming, because most places in Lofoten and Vesteraalen like Svoldvær, Henningsvær etc is called this because of the fishing hamlet. They are all called Fiskevær. But who am I to argue with Wikipedia, so sorry

@@jarlerc no need to apologise, I mean even Wikipedia can be wrong! So still open to the fact that it could be meaning something completely different! Have a lovely evening!
