This video really helped on my 1995 900s ig removal. Key had to be 'on' in my case. Cleaned like u did. Fixed not starting issue for now! Saved me $ on not buying more parts chasing problem.

Jason Langmead Make sure you’re applying enough pressure to the brake when you put the car in park. Not doing so can also cause issues with the ignition lock cylinder.
@Tory McCollum my car is locked and key won't turn right now. I am wondering if I didn't push brake hard enough to park somehow recently, and I'm also parked on a bit of a snow drift so may have cause unequal pressure when parking? Is there anything I can do before messing with possible ignition issues?

I wish this was up earlier this year as I totally destroyed the cylinder pin. $156 later, I fixed it...then the ignition switch went bad. Haha.
Thanks for posting. Pointing out that the release is at 3 o'clock was key. I way trying to find the release at 6 and that did not work.....

what size allen wrench did you use
Unfortunately, I can’t remember but you buy the Allen wrench key set (a few buck) the size is there, guaranteed

Mine's a manual so no park position . Must park in reverse to remove the key .
