[2] new #BoringCo. tunnel continues preparation work @tesla

Railyard yard is located @ RCR Taylor Logistics Park, which transports newly built vehicles from Tesla Gigafactory Texas.
The Boring Company is an American infrastructure, tunnel construction services, and equipment company founded by Elon Musk. TBC founded as a subsidiary of SpaceX in 2017, and was spun off as a separate corporation in 2018. TBC has completed one tunneling project that is open to the public, as well as multiple test tunnels.
Gigafactory Texas is an automotive manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas built by #Tesla, Inc. A 2,500 acre facility along the Colorado River that produces Model Y and Cybertruck.
I drive past the Gigafactory quite often when I’m out that way and believe me when I tell you, even this magnificent drone footage can’t convey the sheer magnitude of that whole complex in person. It’s beyond impressive .
Its to bad you have to drive on the toll road to see the Gigafactory, but it is impressive in person.
The logistics of the train-loading is pretty amazing. The shuttle vans must pick the drivers up from the far reaches of the stacked rail cars, then ferry them back to the right location on the lot to get the next batch, and all of it is about getting the right Tesla into the right rail car going to the right destination. So impressive.
Yes indeed! Definitely fascinating to watch... Also, when the trains are all loaded, get hooked into one another, and head off to the mainline via Union Pacific locomotives..
In a few years, the cars will be self-loading!
Gotta love those autorack carriages
Simply overwhelming and amazing as to the amount of work that goes into such a project.
I want that job, driving Cybertrucks onto trains all day long!
@randytaylor4766 I used too have that job, (Not Cybertrucks, EVs weren't a thing back then) It would have been an interesting job, if not for the employers... This time of year it could get pretty damn hot, but the Winter was worse, depending on which vehicles came in. The Ram diesels were the worst, they would start, usually, eventually, but they would smoke like a coal train. Not great inside those railcars, especially if driving the duallies. Those were a pain to guide through the junctions between the railcars, because you had to hang your head out the window into that thick black smoke. They were built in Mexico, and apparently you can't get Winter diesel down there. While the Ford Contours were being shipped that was also difficult in Winter, Ford really screwed up the cold start system. We celebrated any time we got in a string of Honda Civics, they would almost never have a problem..
@@grahammonk8013 Wow! Sounds like quite an experience you had. Explains why I always see the drivers with their head outside looking forward. I guess there's sort of an advantage with EVs, being without exhaust and all. Thanks for sharing!
@@AirwaveDynamics Yes, pretty much any of the dual wheel trucks can be a pain between railcars unless they are all newer types and have no misalignment.
Great filming; I like that you pause and actually show us the work in progress.
We drove by the gigafactory yesterday. It's simply amazing!
It's quite a massive facility...the new Samsung plant in Taylor as well..
Great video! I like how you focus on few areas.
Appreciate the feedback 🙂
Before they lay the tunnel road deck, they are installing utilities
in the cavity which will be present under the road deck.
Very Nice! Focused on follow through, complete actions. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! 👍
Thanks great video
Thank you!
Piles of gigacastings!
Thank you!
That storage and distribution center is in Hutto, which is 30 miles from the Gigafactory. I'm a little bit surprised they couldn't find something closer, but it looks to have space for many vehicles. Maybe that was the best they could do.
That's where the rail connection was , so that is what Tesla had to use.
Now that makes more since.
I'm watching this video and I'm saying to myself, there are no train tracks next to gigatex.
@ 11:52 (Bottom left) Though not seen because they are covered in dirt... The existing main power duct-banks to the factory pass between the 4 new vaults.
Notice the 90 degree sweeps coming out of the vaults. The presence of 48 (12 x 4) vertical conduit risers indicates a structure may go here. Speculating that there will be one or two switchgear buildings, similar to the white switchgear buildings located on the south end of the substation.
Very interesting analysis! Thank you~
Looks like CT is on its way to be the top selling EV pickup truck. Elon, EV, CT haters are not going to like seeing this
It actually already is the best selling EV pickup truck. But if you are talking about overall sales then they should take over the lightning later this year
Thanks you , for video fantastic, from Spain
Thank you as well!
Of course it's vacuum tunnels and the trains are sliding on air cushions!
Elon is the best!
why not just FSD them onto the train cars?
Hello from me in Jamaica 🇯🇲🙏🙏
Awesome video. I didn’t know how train loading worked. I imagine they will self load in the future.

My truck is coming soon 7-15-2024
The speed of construction and work should be greatly increased, and more super battery factories should be significantly expanded, otherwise it will be difficult to meet Musk's annual production capacity target.
It is necessary to build underground high-speed rail transportation systems/underground fuel transportation systems/underground unmanned transport systems and underground power stations, and use fully automated system management to improve land utilization/save land use area.
I think much of this will be accomplished when Tesla's Optimus robots are at max capacity. From my understanding, a few are operational there now. Perhaps still in their beta/testing phase?
Why they dont transfer the loading people in a Tesla also? That would be cool.
How far is this loading bay away from the factory?
Did you have to wait long to catch the JCB Telehandler driving into the tunnel?
Yes and no. This morning I only had time for one battery- fortunately it was enough to capture 'something'. However, I was there two times during this past week and nothing...other than two dudes walking inside lol.
@@AirwaveDynamics LOL. I thought I saw a guy in a chair in front of the entrance to the tunnel in one of Brad's videos.
and no techno Music, only natural sounds.
Interesting. I have been watching Joe Tegmeyer's videos for years but pretty sure I have never seen the rail yards before. How far away from Giga Texas is this? So currently, they load cars onto trucks and drive them there to be loaded onto trains? Obviously, it would be more efficient to load them directly onto trains at the factory. I presume that Tesla has considered this and it is not possible/feasible/economical to extend the tracks to the factory?
That is the Hutto rail yard between Hutto and Taylor TX. It is a 35 mile drive from the factory. Tesla has invested in major upgrades to this yard.
Brad and Useless Jeff used to fly up there but Jeff got kicked out and Brad just stopped I think.
@@markreynolds3462 Ok, I guess a bit far to extend the railroad.
Yep I’ll buy one when I don’t have to carry a generator with me to keep it. Charged infrastructure needs to be supercharged. Hopefully the battery technology will figure a way. Batteries won’t freeze in cold temperature
Using up more resources than the state doesn't have.
Я думаю в будущем электромобили будут сами грузится без помощи водителей
How far is the train depot from the gigafactory?
It's about a 25-30min drive via Tollway 130.
Show
Really surprised Elon musk doesn't have his own train cars... and that his tesla don't load themselves... and the trains don't drive themselves.😅😅
Same nie wjezdzaja ? HAHAHAH
nicht gerade viel los auf dieser Verladestelle.

Sound sucks
The professional narrator (James Earl Jones) was unavailable.
Great idea for texas? Create a great track around the entire site and make it a destination
with food washrooms, parking and all that. Provide teslas. EV only track. Have mixed races, gas, hybrid, EV.
Many racetracks have some sort of drive your own events.
