Hey man, been Thinkin about puttin a 383 in my 99 obs single cab, how drivable are these? Cause I take my truck to shows and I usually drive it I wouldn’t drive it probably more than 2 hours, so I just wanted your opinion on how you think 383 would do on a 2 hour drive at the most
Built right, just as drivable/if not more drivable than your regular ole Vortec 350. You could bore/stroke your 350 out to a 383, use all of your accessories. The spider injectors are limited to 300-350 ponies, so if you're wanting to go beyond that, then I would recommend a Holley Sniper, or carburetor. You will need a transmission controller if going with a Sniper or carb. Fitech makes a good trans controller, it's around $600 if I'm not mistaken, and will make for good tuning for your 4l60e.

Crate engine: 3,500 - 8k~ If you build an engine from the ground up using brand new parts then you’ll know what you have and can be either cheap or expensive depending on what set of heads you get. The crate engine is a good option if you dont want to risk anything and have warranty incase something blows. It can be cheap or expensive depending on who you buy it from and what set of heads the engine has on it. If it’s cheap it probably has stock or some camel humps. If it’s expensive you’ll probably see some AFRs or Edelbrocks on it. Don’t spend anything above 5k without the engine having good heads on it if you decide going the crate route.
These strokers under 500 HP can keep the cost down by using factory blocks, Scat 9000 cranks, I-beam stroker rods and forged pistons. The enforcer heads are $1k - market price is around $6-7k for intake to oil pan. When things go over 500 HP the cost of parts jumps up quite a bit.
I could listen to that all day 👍👍🇺🇲
That engine just Screams MERICA so loud.
Would love to see a build sheet for that beast. Getting ready to build a 383 for my vette.
Beautiful music to my ears..love it❤❤❤❤❤

How much does it cost to build that combo
Get to da choppa!
Nice 👍🏻
Cackling 🥰
Wow performance unlimited makes great engines but this sounded good.
Bro, you build these? What's that process like? Can someone just order one or do they have to supply all the parts?
Sounds great! Are you planning to dyno this setup? I'm looking at something similar for my Nova, and I'm curious how these enforcer heads work out.
These heads flow better than the 383 with Dart SHP heads that made 497 horse, so this motor should be right around 500.
@Dennis Burger id like to see your dyno sheet
Great sounding motor! Comp ratio?

What does the bottom end consist of? I’m building a 383 now and want it to hold up
Check out Skip White or contact Scat for a rotating assembly.
Do you use water or coolant while it’s on the stand?
Coolant so there’s no worry about it freezing.
What intake are you running sound awesome
Edelbrock Airgap RPM
What cam are you running in if you don't mind

I'm building one, from all my research this build is probobly around 7 to 8k
