I just love how humble Darvin was.
May he rest in peace
This is as mythic as you get for a WSOP broadcast. Heroes, villains, an electric feeling of power and energy, that I argue has never been matched.
あ 1:33:54
It was terrible. Poker is not a spectator sport, and the energy was way over the top.
Wait, who was the villain?
Congrats to announcer Lon McEachern for winning a WSOP Circuit event last year.
That's one more win than Norman Chad has!
Phil Ivey is such a legend. He just takes it like a pro, because he knows it's the nature of the game.
$1.4m in 2009 dollars, in the deepest part of a recession probably helped soften the blow lol
@@yuhyuhtheindigo7085100% lol
Ivey showed no respect for Moon at 53:32 he just laughed at him. Got what he deserved on the flop.
❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊わあ 1:33:54
Cada was a real class act for a youngster. Respected all the other players and seems a humble guy.
Two great guys in heads up, I wanted them both to win
A great ambassador for the game today too.
He should be humble.. never seen anyone play so bad and get so lucky, that too in a wsop final table.
Heck Darvin Moon got lucky too but he played better than Cada.@@mash1855
Cada was a fish
Wow, I didn’t recall Cada getting so lucky during the final table. Crazy
that is all everyone remembered back in the day
But that 22 vs QQ hand wasn't stupid luck... It was stupid for Cada to push all-in instead of call when he did... But a call was correct, and if he just called he sees a 2 on the low flop and all the chips 100% go in.
Cada is fish
That was such a sweet moment when they raised each others hands
When are you making appearance in the FT of the ME Ryan? Hope to see you this year!
@@sixredfish6115 There are no Rebuys at the ME :-)
Absolutely Mr.Parking lot champ. My favorite scene from this years event.
You did my mom and that’s D generate
Cada ran like God but in the past 14 years he’s proven to be the best champ in the post-champ run he’s had.
He was a pro even before the main event, playing mostly HU online.
Moon left 100k + on the table by not putting any poker sponsor on his clothes. I respect that
I'd respect it more if he wasn't advertising for the NFL.
Probably got half million from Saints

Darwin‘s comment on the cash: „It‘s money.“ He knows what life is and should be about, and it‘s not money! 👏🏼
Looking back on this, it's amazing how lucky Cada got in order to win. They say skill gets you to the final table, luck gets you the win.
No….he sold his soul to satan just like everyone else who wins the wsop…think about it….there is no luck…..They all have to face Jesus on judgement day….what good is it if you have the world but lose your soul…
I'd say luck gets you to the final table and skill gives you a bit more luck.
Honestly he played pretty well too and even got eternally UNLUCKY in a few hands. Like he was short stack for part of it because he got rivered on early.
And honestly he proved he wasn't a one shot wonder too, pretty sure he won a few bracelets and had quite a few money finishes too shortly after this and of course making a final table not too long ago now
He was also lucky Begleiter knew little about basic tournament poker strategy - on hand 123 (the hand immediately after Cada doubled up Shulman at 41:30), Begleiter folded the button because he thought Buchman would raise him from the small blind; Buchman pointed out his only objective would have been to put Cada (big blind) all in, which he did, and then check it down as per the norm, to try and eliminate Cada.
Had Begleiter joined in (for only about 5% of his stack at the time), he wins the hand, and Cada is eliminated in seventh place...
Wow, I didnt remember Cada ran like that, I love the tournaments, but the final table just becomes a roulette man.
RIP moon, what a legend
He’s an ass. ‘It should be me and you.’ Disrespectful to the champ after Moon spent the whole tournament getting lucky and sucking out.
he died???
@@martinedwards4522yeah he passed away suddenly in 2020 after complications from some kind of surgery. I think he was in his mid 50s
Even if this was his only big cash, the way he carried himself was great. Maybe one of the most likeable tables in the past like 5 or more years before this
That’s sad to hear, he had such a great attitude about life.
Rest in peace to Darvin moon.
what happened???

This year and final table was SO nostalgic for me.. Seems like just yesterday being so excited to watch those two new episodes of WSOP coverage a week. This one takes the cake, the hype around Ivey, the intro was perfect with it saying "will he be the one...." We know now 15 years later he is and was the greatest, but this was epic.
Phil Ivey intro gives me chills everytime
i hate him. Respect and ivey are opposite.
How did you watch this 13 days ago? A channel membership?
@@88mphDrBrown was on the channels playlist

Darvin Moon was an absolute gentleman at the end and the way he treated Joe. Joe did great in the end and for a 21 year old winning it was great to watch. Darvin did great too. Great players and great respect for each other.
Darvin Moon was the nicest guy ever
The brilliant commentary fueled my poker addiction.
"It don't matter how much it is, either I'm calling or I'm not" Lol what a Legend
Well after putting 15 mil on a bluff and 19 mill in total when you are holding KQ high with no pair and no draw on the flop.
I wouldn't even bother calling for another mil just to avoid the humiliation of showing my cards lol 😂
Legendary stuff, Darvin Moon and Joe Cada are 2 of the most likeable people I've ever watched play, I MISS THIS ERA OF POKER SO MUCH
The greatest intro, forget wsop history, probably a top one of all time
That’s one hell of a run. That’s the definition of sun run.
Stupid luck.
What an epic final table, thanks for posting this PokerGo, I have a subscription but I forget about these special moments until they are posted in CZcams
Really surprised Ivey folds Jacks preflop to a 3bet in that spot. Regardless, it's a truly insane run for anyone to make the FT in the main event, much less the best player in the world with the absolute biggest target on his back the entire tournament.
As always, we salute and bow down to the GOAT.
I was always stunned by that fold, especially with his chip stack. We all make mistakes, I assume he regrets that one. Still the goat 🐐🐐🐐...
He said he had a live read that was wrong
What an intro ! Thanks for these oldies, amazing content.
ESPN poker just hits different
Yea it used to actually be entertaining to watch
I never seen Ivey played that tight. Those jacks were a clear shove with his stack size.
Idd. Only reason I could think of is that Saout was maybe the most tight player and he reraised Ivey who was UTG. But still idd...if he shoves there, things would have been different.
Darvin Moon is without a doubt one of my favorite players that I have watched.
Who’s here before they released it through daily uploads?
Me
Are you a wizard?
Watched all these in real time in 2000s
I was here in the years 2009 to enjoy free wsop uploads. I remember part 1/4 etc
Who cares?
Stack em stack em stack em stack em to the top
Moon was a class act
Ah the good memories of Cada luckboxing the entire FT! 😂 gotta love those sun runs especially in the biggest(most important to most) tournaments in the world.
These nvr get old
2009 WSOP CHAMPION JOE CADA
2009 WSOP CHAMPION JOE CADA
RIP Marvin Moon
Ivey tossing pocket J’s was pretty wild.
Norman Chad says Ivey was the only one who doesn't think about the money, but when you watch this final table, it looks like Ivey was the only one who thought about payjumps! Moon certainly didn't 😂
That intro gave me goosebumps.
As a poker player from 2001 on i was an old school player and learnt from the age of 12….. watching the intro to this final table is nothing short of unbelievable! To see the legends and the pantheon of greats….. poker will never be like that again!
The two Phils are just incredible. Ivey's way of playing (math, ability to read people, coolness, bluff catching ability, not counting out supernatural feelings ("people have energy around them")) his wins both in cash games and in tournaments for so many years constantly - its just crazy. I think, only Hellmuth with his 17 bracelets, his ability to make people believe hes a fool, when in reality hes a monster (like Columbo), his ability to manipulate players into making mistakes, his crazy ability to read people, to sniff their souls - is in his league. Two great players, much better than the low IQ GTO pros of these days, who just copy paste some stuff they got from a machine and get outplayed constantly.
I like both of them but for a non pampas player I think it works more helmuth tight style because I think people fold many times only because he is Phil Ivey when he bluffs
Rip moon man
Unreal for Cada to hit both sets with 3s and 2s. Whatever anyones says luck won him this world series.
You need A LOT of luck to win a turnament. A lot! Only hand I can think of him playing bad was that 22 against the french, otherwise he play a pretty solid poker.
15:30 never celebrate early, especially over nothing.😂
The promo was goldddddd
For me, the memorable highlights of this FT: Ivey chewing his apple while taking a bad beat, and Darvin Moon lying to his wife about what we folded even though the action was televised.
If ever the phrase the man the myth the legend could apply to someone, it applied to the late Darvin Moon. Rest in peace big fella
Phil Ivey takes it in stride like a pro.

I just saw this final table. It is one thing to get lucky. No player can win the main event without a little luck.
But this is insane.
3-3 vs. J-J and 2-2 vs. Q-Q both preflop.
I thought Moon was lucky but this… I’m done.
Rare final table in this later part of this decade with multiple pros in it
But man did Cada run the gauntlet when he was so low on chips
the good days
It was striking to me when Moon told Saout "it should have been me and you" after hitting 3 outers on Ivey and then for heaps against Begleiter. He also called off over 1/4 of his stack against Buchman with just KJ. Based on beats it probably should have been Shulman and Saout.
Anyone know why the final was delayed
“I haven’t seen the French this excited since McDonald’s came to Paris.” again.
Classic Norman Chad
That is a lot of suck outs that I could have ever imagined!
Aken head is the reddish hat person
Fair play to Cada really. Never knew that he was down to just 5BB at one stage.
Quite a comeback from that.
This final table had it all
Is this video clipped to only the all in’s or did the tourney really get played this fast?
Cada is a lucky box
Dud i just searched everywhere for a good quality of this final table and found nothing, booom this releases now hahahhaha wtf
This wsop was one of the greatest shuv and get there tournaments ever.
Some people push with pockets 3s and pocket 2s and hit trips against jacks and queens and some people have the jacks and queens
Saout played perfection, deserve to win
That ace on the river at 58:56 is so sweet. That Begleiter guy was just too annoying and arrogant.
Funny how the game has changed at 45:52 Ivey thinking he’s not allowed to fold but his instincts were correct you def can at FT for 11BBs
That's why he's one of the greats. Making good folds is key, even if you're wrong. Always go with your gut.
I'm the best in the world!!!

Joey would have folded 😂
1:27:21 Moon didn't make many huge bluffs but every time he did he would play with his beard right before the bet

The Ivey KK hand illustrates why poker doesn't work very well as a spectator event. Ivey shoves, everyone folds (including a nice laydown by Cada), crowd erupts with delight. While at home, those of us rooting for Ivey were disappointed with everyone folding.
Cada had to be the least covered WSOP Champion throughout each episode. I get he was lucky but they seemed to really push the other players leading up to the final table. I honestly don't recall any other champions that got little to no coverage like Cada
Having watched these in order he and eastgate got barely any screen time
Lol bro they don't know who's going to win the tournament man lol. If you're quiet and don't have a monster stack they're prob not covering you much.
Maybe because of the company he keeps.
