Anderton Boat lift to Middlewich

A winter cruise along The Trent and Mersey Canal, witnessing a tree randomly falling just after we passed on the boat and a few days later another tree blocks the canal just behind our mooring during an 80mph storm

The wides caused by subsidence following salt extraction are known as flashes. As are the ones formed by coal mining subsidence around Leigh and Wigan.
