@@LockNoobI think you should mention how long it took you to figure out how to pick the lock plus the extra tools needed. I think this would be a good way to measure the security of a lock.
It's very different when the lock is in the wise and in the door because of the positions of the hands .. but great work you make it look so easy and luckily like that guy said not many people have that kind of skill 👍👍 great work
if i want i open it the difference is after this you can lock back but if i open it with the russian lockpicking kit you don't because i use 10kg hammer flex termite and some other fine tools... anno i discussed with a security technician because he don't agree with me when i said that no unbreakable lock or safe only not enough dynamite... if i use on a safe the same energy that used to forge it from iron ingot i can forge it back... and a second idea: now u can buy sometimes from household shops in europe called aldi or lidl electric plasma cutter and it can cut a safe to half without any problem...
Fucking brilliant. I tried to start a lockpickers group in my town to meet up on weekends to share tips and pick locks together. But nobody replied. It has nothing to do with being a burgler or unlawful skills. It is simply defeating mechanical puzzels we call locks. I will never forget the feeling of defeating my first multi pin security pad lock. Its exciting and adictive fun as hell and has come in useful more than once. Like when my girlfriend lost her keys and locked us out of her house one cold late night. I had to pick thru 4 door locks 2 deadbolts and 2 standard handle locks. Saved her a bunch of money from hiring a lock smith to come out after hours. Feels good and i love your videos. Thanks
Remember that these are usually the people who are advising you of what locks to buy. This hobby allows us to find locks that are stupidly easy to open. For example, this "Super Tough High Security" padlock I picked up from Walmart has a bypass where you can stick a shorthook in and press, and it'll open. I also got two laminated Masterlock padlocks from Home Depot for $10 each. The first one I picked, which was "Security Level 5", took me 3 minutes to single pin pick. The other, advertised at "Security Level 7" took literally 1 second. All I did was lift the fourth pin, the back-most pin, and it opened. I just started this hobby a week ago! On top of all of that, only 2% of burglaries are caused by lockpicking. And usually it's just using bump keys. Skilled locksmiths usually do it as a trade, so it's highly unlikely that they will exploit their skills like that. Just get a lock that's recommended by locksmiths, and you'll be safe.
I am a locksmith and a customer said to me once, after I opened their front door in a few seconds “ you could be a burglar “ I replied “you could be a pedo rapist, after all, you know how to and you have the equipment “ He apologised
Most burglers don't have that skill, and don't care to, so the lock complexity becomes irrelevant. If it is a padlock, the bring cutters, and if it is a door lock, the bring a crowbar or simply drive their stolen car through the front door.
Did i just watch someone pick a lock while the Metatron moderated it? Was lock picking part of life in ancient rome as well? Boy... i need to get some sleep... i am losing it.
Lovely. You just don't imagine the number of dimple locks I've picked with the Abona pic You've designed for Multipick. It is my favourite pic ever. :) Greetings from a Belgium effrac Team ;) :) :p
I wonder, how much presure did you put on that tensioner? (Clicks sounded like they were under heavy presure.) I hope it's not dumb question, i just startet lockpicking and have trouble with adding just the right amount of pressure. Also thank you for your videos.
Lightest tension possible for raking (just enough to hold the set pins at the shear line), heavier tension possible for single pin picking (you still need to move the binding pin).
@@hjvveight4074 It depends of your lock but heavy tension is usually required when you start picking high security lock. Tolerances are such that you need to hold in place tightly your set pins. Heavy tension also prevent oversetting pins, fairly useful when you have spool and serrated driver pins.

A lock is only as good as the weakest wall. That’s why the best “lock” is a flat wall, just like the strongest door is only as good as the worst window.

Most locks aren’t hard to pick, you just need to know how.
it's only that simple if you know what the key looks like
Shocker - that was fast 🤣👍
