So I guess this takes the small scary story of "the last man on Earth was sitting on his couch. Suddenly, he heard knocking on his door" to a whole new level.
Let's troll people I haven't eat food yet let's pretend to be dead and not eat him/her already because I want a thrill I'm gonna trap him at the tower lol
only an idiot would believe the woman leading you to the tower. The population was at a 1... how the hell are there other ppl alive? Not to mention the lack of common sense from the player pointing this very fact out from the beginning...
I feel like the tower should’ve turned into the monster and eaten the player instead. That would’ve show that the tower was a central feeding point and given a reason why the monster was leading you into the city.
Aegis I would also prefer the tower to be full of the people of the city, but they are all already dead. And the population counter suddenly ranks up while you watch hundreds of thousands bodies dragging themselves towards you.
Sizza FN Yea, but because how the population keep changing from 1 to 2 kinda feel like it is counting on anyone who seem to be alive or moving. The corpse was pretending to be dead, but that also tricks the counter. But just a brief moment before it moves, the counter changes to 2. An even scarier feeling would be if there is a counter near or on that tower, it would be saying “Population: 1” and suddenly increase to 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 50, etc, etc and you begin to see group of ‘people’ wobbling toward you from the tower and from the place you came from. They reach you, screen go black, and when it turns back up, it would be zoom into the board saying “Population: 0” Now that’s horror. And as topping on the cake, you will see another silhouette walking toward the town, and it will go back to “Population: 1”
I expected the ending tbh "I'm in the middle of the city" (so *in* the city) "Population: 1" (or 2 if you count the monster) It was impossible for that girl not to be the monster.
Is it just me or did actually seeing the body flop around kind of ruin the atmosphere? I feel like it’d be more impactful with the flickering population 1-2 jut before you happen upon it again That way the connection is slowly built up and tension is mounted until at some point you /do/ actually see it move and it makes it all the freakier?
The point im guessing is it reads when things are alive inside so the "thing" moving around makes it 2 but once the corpse goes limp and "dies" it reads back to 1
I wish the board was a mechanic and not a denotation for a static scare. Like, having to observe the body or look for it to make the population return to 1.
@@seanpazdera6407 It's an ending for babies. It means nothing, and it fails to be "horrific" (it's a horror game, yaknow). What it succeeds in being, and that's being generous, is grotesque. "Dia" is actually a third person pronoun in Malay, which means he, him or she. It kinda add up the atmosphere of the game where the game revolves around you
Sovereign One Oh yes! TOTALLY! I agree 100%. sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who actually understands what's going on/is woke, etc. THAT'S the scary part... it makes you feel like a total stranger/outcast from the rest of the world. Thank god I'm not the only one. It gives me hope knowing there are others who feel the same.
Thats why i really never liked the concept of "Being the only one left" I'd prefer to be in an enclosed space with other people during distress than alone in the open with no one under duress
Azka '02 there are times where the company of other ppl makes your existence in this world more reassuring. imagine living in a world where there is no one to remember you, no one to love you, no one to talk to, no one to laugh or cry about the little things in life. it's even scarier than death, ngl... as humans we give life purpose, not the other way around.
Blake lastname there is truth to what he says tho. imagine you're the only person left alive in this world, you are injured and need hospitalization. but there's no around to help you. And you don't have the medical knowledge to help yourself. what do you do?
I think the clues were at the very start: "There is nothing scary ahead" "No sudden noises" "No flashing images" "No one will follow you" They all turned out to be lies from the get-go. Then there was the population counter recognizing only you and the reviving corpse. And more importantly, the graffiti claiming that "he didn't find me inside the tower". The initial warnings were setting the tone for constant, purposeful misdirections to lure you into a trap.
I enjoy the noise the sign makes. It makes for great horror I believe it can be an iconic noise and not be so loud tho. I fully feel this game can have a lot more potential if there was more to interact this feels like a proof of concept and it works
I think this could be really awesome if the corpse had its own AI and it could follow you around independently. That would create a real sense of anxiety when you see the population jump to 2 and you know the corpse is *actually* following you.
Was expecting a truly horror last scene: the corpose stays standed, you can’t move, only rotate, when you look back again it’s closer, then again and again, that would make me punch the monitor
Personally I like the game for being scary but not that it makes one well... as you put, punch the monitor XD. I don't think I will ever have the courage to play a truly horrifying game (plz don't judge me XD)
Good concept. Could tell it's very rough at the moment. Would love to see where it goes. I would love if it was a lot more subtle though, maybe where you just notice the body and it does a weeping angel every so often without saying anything. Also, this seems very linear, would love a little more space to explore, even if it was just for show.
Everyone: -Hey, there is someone trying to help us! Me: -Yeah? When why does the sign not count her? Really, didn't feelthe "plot twist". Boring. Yet video is of great quality! Nice work.
It's actually clever when you think about it. The creature can't attack you during the day, and takes the appearance of a corpse, but the woman lured you in far enough that you had no way to escape once the monster took its true form. Your "contribution to the city" was being a sacrifice to the monster to keep her, the only other remaining resident, alive and uneaten just a little while longer.
Was also thinking "1" is actually just the lady. And 2 was the monster. You're not actually counted for the population because *you're already dead when you got there.*
The point of the game is this. There are two types of people:
1. Those who avoid the body.
2. Those who try to figure out what they can do to it.

fear come in many forms. the fear of being the only person alive, and the only person that is not alone.
That's how I feel like in a braindead world.

I think the clues were at the very start:
"There is nothing scary ahead"
"No sudden noises"
"No flashing images"
"No one will follow you"
They all turned out to be lies from the get-go.

The ending was actually unexpected (sorry for my bad english)
Let me guess youre spanish right?

"The voice of Dia will guide me"
Literally like the only way is to the tower...I mean you cant get lost.
*Me, holding a sledgehammer:* I CAN IF I TRY HARD ENOUGH
With the number of panels in that final area, I was expecting the population to skyrocket at the end while the gate remained locked
Actually that could be terrifying, you just see the bodies moving towards you through fog while the counter keeps rising
Either that or the woman was the monster herself.
@@andreyv.vieira521 either way it's trippy asf
Was also thinking "1" is actually just the lady. And 2 was the monster.
You're not actually counted for the population because *you're already dead when you got there.*
@@heroyolkie There was no lady. The monster was using a voice to trick you into coming to the tower to be eaten
didnt you hear the voice of her at the end when she has a seizure? The monster was her. It would have been population 3
