Im a day angler & this piece of kit has become essential as with 2-3 casts you can map out your entire swim & then use a lead to confirm the spots.
Not for everyone i know but im certainly one of the thumbs up crew 👍👍👍
Spot on jimmy great little tips indeed
I was under the impression that the bunched up yellow "fish" where small silvers roach Rudd etc? The large fish icons show carp, cats, pike, bream and tench?
Fantastic tips
Which range extender would you recommend?
Have to admit ever since buying the pro+ it has been valuable for swim selection.
Takes the skill outta fishing this sorta stuff
Stop it..... saves time..... and headache..... mate next swim is hauling with it.... you ain't got 1...... no brainer
Honestly, I'm old skool but I use a deeper to find the bottom of the marginal shelf (which is where I do most of my angling here in france) and I don't see it as taking any skill away. I could use a marker, and have done, but on my one night angling every two weeks, I can find that shelf with absolute certainty, and with one cast rather than 5 or 6.
@@edenandmeadow For noddies
Agreed
@@benbirch2393 yep. I’ve spent 20 years mapping swims with leads on braid, marker floats and counting drops. I’m confident that I can map a swim with great detail in a number of hours of careful casting and note taking - deffo not a noddy there. Alternatively I can cast my deeper out and find the spots I want to concentrate on in minutes meaning, I can spend the rest of that time in other areas like watching undisturbed swims for fish, refining rigs, working on photography and generally doing other useful watercraft stuff.
I need a deeper to find my deeper 😌😭 lost mine 😔
👍🏻
What do you do when you show your mate your deeper chirp in your swimming pool and it shows that there is fish?
Get the pool cleaner in 💩
Get the rods out 🤣🤣🤣
I’d probably go for a small pva bag of chlorine granules, with a trimmed down urinal cake on the hook👍
Watch videos from companies like Hummingbird that explain how a sounder works. Then you can fine tune the deeper to work correctly.
I've had mine taken by a carp... Twice!
Fair enough if you’re a lazy noddy, the harder the work the more rewarding and meaningful the captures are.
All opinions are subjective. You think people who use deepers are lazy noddies. I think people who don’t use them and proceed to cast out multiple times and scare the fish from their swim are noisy noddies.
If you don’t fish with a handcrafted spear, you’re a noddy.
@@tomwinterfishing9065 Killing fish is for noddys
@@Toronto_James Anyone who leads about next to someone is a noddy. Scanning the lake with tech, borderline homosexual.
Tips from me are - don’t use them if you think there’s fish in the swim. They let out a signal that I have no doubt that fish can hear / feel and I have no doubt they will quickly learn to associate with danger. If you find a spot with a deeper then you should still use a lead to get some ideas about what’s on the bottom. Be careful on depths given in big winds or when there’s a bow in your line - when it’s not sitting perfectly horizontal in the water, you risk false readings - same for putting it on a rod with leadcore attached for example. Beware of false fish readings. Any structures in the water that make the signals deflect at an angle can fo this - beds of weed, steep bars etc. If I’m doubt try a few casts over the area and if you’re getting fish every time then it’s probably some sort of interference.
The frequencies used by sounders are not detectable by fish (or us for that matter). I am not sure how you are getting false readings unless you are using the fish icons (never use the icons). A fish is a very clearly defined arch as can be seen in the video. It is well worth watching the instructional videos from companies like Hummingbird and Garmin as they go into great detail about some of the points you raise and how to spot fish, shoals and different weeds and bottoms as well as explaining how a sounder works and why a fish shows as an arch and how to gauge size by the thickness of the arch, not the length.
The Chirp Plus is a pretty decent sounder for its cost, but it does take a bit of setting up to get the best results. When used alongside £1000 sounders from a boat, the results are pretty similar. The advantage of the more expensive kit is that you have the screen, the actual technology behind it is the same.
these are Rubbish,I know 5 people who brought deepers and everyone has sold them.they are too hit and miss on the connections......buyer beware
Leave it at home and use a marker rod
