Updated philodendron collection? It’d be cool to se what you have growing at home now and even the variety in shop!
I love that you showed the plants that are struggling, too. I've been dealing with a thrips outbreak myself and it can be so disheartening because we only ever see beautiful healthy plants online. If you have any footage/photos of the spidermites pre-treatment it would be so helpful. I feel like most youtubers/instagrammers are unwilling to show their plants when they're sick but it's so helpful to know what signs to watch for so that you can catch it early. Google usually only shows super infested, way-far-gone plants and often they're not even houseplants so it's hard to tell what the symptoms would look like on, say, an aroid instead of lettuce or whatever.
I don't know the answer.. But I appreciate you way you love your plants.. God bless you..
" It doesn't grow very fast. I think that's because it hates me." I'm so relieved to see that other people feel this way, too. I thought I was the only one.
Yay! You are back to ‘normal’ don’t let the hate get ya down!
Philodendron are my favorites!
I admire your ability to not put a plant in every possible corner of the house. But I think I‘ll never learn..😅
Same! I have them in every nook and cranny 😂😂
Bahhaa!! You and me both! I need one of EVERYTHING!!
Instantly clicked this video! Philodendrons are some of my favorite houseplants, especially my micans 🤗💙
I got very lucky and got too small lichens at the supermarket the grocery store call Weis Markets here in Maryland. They were into in a pot and we're $2.50 I bought both put them together one pot and now they are beautiful and doing fantastic. I did buy to enjoy plants that are pothos and they are struggling they were hearted before their aerial roots were developed and they were just like Leaf clippings and they're slowly deteriorating hopefully something's going to take. It was at the same place and they had a sale a while back big huge dieffenbachia is that were on sale for 12 bucks and they were double potted and a cash pot and their Nursery pot Amazing by they also off and on have orchid for sale 2 orchid for $18 for one for $17 now who's just going to buy one since I already have at least 30 I didn't buy any but that doesn't say I won't be tempted in the future
Dear lord that white knight is gorgeous, amazing collection girlie!
In my opinion is the light with the florida. Mine was the same till I've moved it and he gets light in the morning, kind of direct sun light and he started putting out white leaves again, but is just my opinion😁 and maybe they are different ghosts🤔 weird
a bad ghost and a good ghost hihi ! I've noticed that they sell them that way. If you take a close look you often find an all green branch and a yellow/white one. On mine it is like that, so i have half a normal florida and half a ghost..
can you make a video on how you do research to find your plants!?! I feel like I spend hours a day searching for rare guys to no avail and youre the QUEEN of it
So refreshing to see all your plants and conditions, plus the trials and errors with them. A true, helpful and honest video! Thank you 🌱👍
I look forward to Friday all week just for your videos!! Philodendrons might be my favorite family of plants. Excited to see those new babies you got last weekend. Please do a video introducing them. Luv u beech!!
Lol I thought your microphone was an arial root
Keisha Bobisha 😂😂
I absolutely adore philodendrons!!! I’m so glad you’re sharing your collection 😍😍😍 I just received a variegated burle marx for my birthday and I’m so excited but your right the variegation is minimal
I love your voice, I could listen to you all day. Great plants
Stunning! Your rare philodendron collection brings me so much joy
These are gorgeous! I'm a big philodendron fan, so I was so excited to see this video in my notifs
Yes chick!! Been waiting for this!
Please please PLEASE do monstera next?? 🌿💕
YES PLEASE
I always thought that monsteras where philodendron 🙈🙈😅
Love the video Kaylee! Love all your plants. Philodendrons are my favorite❤️ thank you so much for sharing with us can’t wait to see what you bring back from the aroid show👍🏻😜💚🌿
Emily
I just LOVE it when you do plant tours 😍
Yay!! Thank you for sharing all these babies with us!!😍😍😍
Wow! what a awesome collection! 🌿 You have so may beautiful Philodendrons! ❤
I'm right at the start and paused to say.....SO excited! 🤗
Lovely video as always! Thanks for sharing your philos with us!
Happy to see your plants don't always look picture perfect also. Proves your only human like us.
My Melanochrysum x verrucosum plants have also lost the red from the backs of the older leaves . I hadn’t noticed that until you pointed it out! I’d have to say that philodendrons are my favorite plants. Of course anthuriums and monsteras are right up there too! You have an amazing collection! Always love your videos!
Scandens is a beautiful plant, so graceful and gorgeous color. My fav plant. I am in love with my lime on my blackish granite countertop in its white pot.
Blissy, loved seeing them all. Thanks so much 🌺
Regarding Florida ghost, aside from light, I'm thinking could it be because of the soil? If you've got a nitrogen rich soil, chances are your leaves would get more green. That's what I read when I was researching about caladiums and how to keep them white. Like if you're going to fertilise your "white" plants, make sure your fertiliser is low in nitrogen.
Yeah I was gonna say cut the N
I love the setup you have with the vining plants above your TV!
Beautiful collection of philodendrons. They are my favs. I have quite a few.
You have such a stunning collection of plants!
Wow I like the way you organize your plants!😍
You got me at Philodendron... Lol! Them and aglaonemas are my favorites. They're just so adaptive.
Peep little obliqua!! So lovely to see and hear you! Hope you had a great trip. Fun to see your collection. 😊
I am a CZcams junkie. You are my absolute favorite! Your content is calming and extremely enjoyable ❤
Nice very honest, very old Video… it changed so much, sooo much in your Life! Congrats, rare planst girl!
Absolutely love your videos!!
My heart melts for the Philo family.
i like plants because of their foliage but also they are pets and living beings like us..you can enjoy their beauty and also can see them grow.. 💚
This is the Kaylee Ellen content that I've been looking forward to
Love the accent. Love the collection especially the Florida beauty, white knight and the paraiso.
.Absolutely Gorrrrrgeous
Great tour...the good, the bad and the busted. Always appreciate your honesty as a grower. As you said, not every plant is IG worthy. The Florida ghost is near the top of my wishlist.
17:17 kaylee did u missed grabbing the plant there😂😂 hahaha love ya!
I really get how Kaylee keeps only plants she likes and is excited about, trying to keep the house minimalist and all, but my collectors heart just screams for her to keep every single plant that touches her hands :P Lovely collection anyway, my Philodendron collection is way smaller and made up of much less rare plants, but still it's one of my favorite genera. I think the rarest one is the Philodendron verrucosum I collected myself in Costa Rica, others are the commercially produced prince of orange, pink princes, an erubecens that came form my grandmothers garden and a wonderful hastatum.
Thanks for the collection tour! I adore philodendrons and need more space so I can get more!!
Start hanging them from the ceiling! I mean, at this point does it matter if we have to walk through a maze to get to another room?😂😂
i assume for your Florida ghost its probably going straight to green due to the change in environment, itll probably go back to producing white leaves that fade to green once it has properly settled as I know some plants with variegation whether naturally occurring or bred into them can lose it or have it becomes less prominent as the plant is shocked and acts similarly to if it were getting insufficient light, ps great video so proud of how far you've come with your channel and your GORGEOUS collection.
Hey how about your pink princess philodendron
love your make up! ^^ thanks for sharing, really fascinating Philo collection!
Beautiful collection, Kaylee! (Kept trying to peep at your non philodendron plants 🤭) I love how you keep the amount of plants you have at a minimal. Im trying to do the same too and only keep plants I really really love. I honestly cant wait to get a variegated burle marx.
Your videos are always so relaxing to watch! Take care x 🌱
Your videos are so relaxing 😌
Please please please make a video about making cuttings I would love to understand more about this topic and your teaching style just really gets to me in your informational videos. I have a micans as well that I love to pieces and I would like to make cuttings from it too.
Also go watch planterina. She has tons of videos of propagation
My philodendron Brasil got ready looking like you're mykins looks and when I took cuttings off of it it pushed out in an amazingly beautiful way I didn't like it before because it looked kind of weird and crazy and the weird and crazy now has roots on those cuttings and the mother plant is gorgeous
Beautiful, thanks for sharing xxx
Beautiful collection!!!
My ghost is doing the same thing! I was told that light can make the color vary as well as the genetics of the plant. It’s so weird when the leaves come in green then fade white? We have some spooky ghosts. 👻
Jenna M same! I’m always so excited about new leaves on my ghosts and it’s kind of disappointing atm 😂
Lisa Bo me too! I have a new one on its way now and I’m hoping it doesn’t disappoint!!!!
Jenna M fingers crossed 😄
@@Jenna_EMW do you have any updates? Just bought one and i'm really scared because a lot of people seem to have the same issue
Taseen Rahman mine has stayed pretty green unfortunately. 😭
I just snagged a burle marx fantasy today! So excited!
Definitely unrelated to this video:
I know I would love to hear more about your fish and fish tank setup. I was curious at all if you've heard about the Walstad Method of aquarium keeping? I've been reading up on it and it seems like a super cool way to go, especially for us plant folk. Aquatic plants seem to be a whole new adventure so to speak, and I do wonder if one can find rare or variegated aquatic plants.
I apply Silicic acid ( not salicylic) on my plants, the leaves are hard & strong, less drooping & it helps better nutrient absorption of plants
Beautiful collection! I can't wait to obtain some of the babies you have! (: I seriously have been wanting a Burle Marx Fantasy for forever now!
I wanted to get some advice though. How do you propagate your rarer plants in sphagnum moss? How do you care for it after that before transferring to soil? Teach me your wisdooooom💚 I only want the best advice and honestly you seem the best to ask.
Beautiful!!! Ah, I love the chocolate one so much. Can you do a video about grow lights sometime? I'm worrying about my plants and considering to get some for winter.
Can't wait to see what you got at the IAS show :)
Love it!!
The white Knight is my favorite. I love me some white variegation and those stems are to die for. I'm curious to see how it ages, I couldnt find any pictures of a large plant. I dont have many spots that get tremendous amounts of Light, so I 'm a bit hesitant to get my own.
Beatiful collection!!!
Gorgeous! Just gorgeous collection! #plantgoals
Why not put the touch and go spiritus in the biorb?
Too Favorite Philodendron? Updated Plant Tour/Philodendron Tour?! I’ve been binging your videos!!
Oh my god I just got a tiny burle marx fantasy cutting a couple weeks ago and a couple leaves have fallen off - sad for you but glad to know I'm not alone!
Awesome. plants
I was stuck between getting a Florida Ghost or a Prince of Orange, but I think after seeing your Florida Ghost - they just have more personality with their leaf shape! Missed your restock this time so will need to be on the ball for your next big restock because I want one! Thanks for showing us them all, they are SO pretty! I really want a Chocco Red now too, so beautiful (But I'm totally scared of them at the moment!)
I love your videos! Please make one of the Plant Show you went to in Florida! Please...😬
You need to cut back and keep the long growth cut to a certain length on the heart leaf to prevent the top from thinning and flattening or to get more growth at the top
Make a video on leca & what plants you like using it with and how you water, propagate in leca!! Please!
I just think you should try semihydroponics with the p. Sanctis. Wit a ph of 5.5 and a tds of maximum 500, and i am pretty sure that you will see growth in the next month and it will help a lot with the humidity as well. Just a thought😊
My ghost is the same - I think they need some direct light to make white leafs
That or just because it’s coming into winter sunshine isn’t as strong and days aren’t as long so we are only getting light green leafs
It’s weird they aren’t consistent
Would love to know what kind of light you have on your office shelfs- The lik in the description doesn't seem to work for me :(
Great video Ellen, how do you mange to keep your ultra rare plants alive?
I like the stand with the glass shelves and LED lights along the metal frame. Can you give more specifications about that, and if the lighting is sufficient on its own?
Lovely tour/update! Love your florida beuty and ghost! If you ever wanted to give away I would love to see cutting of those as prise. Hope you had wonderful holiday in Florida and I saw your pictures in insta which you won a prise. Looking forward to see your next video reg the show you've been to.
Oh really wanting a Gloriosum now! Hoping you get TheRarePlant company shop open with some exciting goodies?! 🙏🥰
beautiful
Hi Kaylee thanks so much for your fabulous vids on philodendrons... what is the fabulous one at 28.00 mins you don't mention the really big one in the pot behind but I definitely need one. Cheers.
*Spiritus-sancti:* Don't give up on that baby! The apical meristem surely has another baby leaf below and inside that burnt-looking tissue. It may take some time but it might still come out.
I dont think anyone is going to give up on a spiritus until its turned to dust lol
Frank Drebbin you seem to be super educated on aroids or plants in general. Can you pm me so I can follow you/ ask you some questions 🙂
@@Ireallyhatestyrofoam ...There's plenty of folks with far more botanical knowledge than I have. It would be better for you to be exposed to many Brains. Most of what I know has been gleaned from the members of FaceBook special interest pages like "Planet Philodendron," "Thaumatophyllum," and other Plant interest groups.
Kaylee is a member of several of those groups, as is her friend and mine, Mick Mittermeier. He's a young botanical professional who has several tropical explorations under his belt. He's active in those FB groups and is eager to help anyone he can. You'll meet many more like him among those groups.
Please do rare plant index of syngonium. I feel this plant is highly underrated.
Could you link the grow light strips you use on your shelves? I would be very thankful as I can't find something similar anywhere (:
Nice upload dear.😊
From what I understand, variegated plants are more likely to produce highly variegated leaves when they are offered more light. Low light urges the plant to pump out darker leaves filled with more chlorophyll to absorb the limited light more readily!
can anyone tell me what shelves/ grow lights she is using?? thanks :)
Have you had any experience with arums. I own an amorphopalus kinjac, Titan, and bulbifer. They are some beautiful and weird plants. The leaves look like trees and have amazing markings on there stems.
Gorgeous collection Darlin'!!! Mine is getting there but it's not as amazing as yours!! Yet! 😘 Lol
How do you travel for periods of time with plants at home? Do you have someone water them? Just wondering because I still havent gotten it down
You should sooooo do a tour of the new place😁
I heard if you get the ghost up close to a grow light when the leaves are forming it comes out white
Hey Kaylee you keep linking your grow lights but the link has not worked ever. Can you tell us who makes them? I can only ever find those gross red and blue grow strip lights on amazon.
I would find it interesting to know how many stems you have in one pot with the ghosts and also the scandens/ micans, as they look so full! 😍
i love your tv stand! where is it from? i want to have plants over my tv and around it too :)
I love your Philodendron collection. They are my fav. Keep up the great content! #plantykindnessproject
I don’t want to hear about Burle Marx Fantasy anymore today 😂 missing out on one from Steve’s Leaves today was an emotional rollercoaster
Lol FOMO!!
I can't totally relate!! Lol
So I have a philodendron question maybe someone could help with. I have a P. deflexum cutting I got a couple of months ago. It has a small "nub" of a root and a single leaf. I have it in water but the leaf is starting to curl and it's done nothing else; I'm worried I will lose it. Any ideas?
How do your plants survive so close to the radiators? I always thought they couldn't be too close to heaters and have legit overhauled my living room with grow lights and humidifier and new shelves to keep them away from the radiators for winter! Lots of trouble for nothing?
