He wanted to perform for the audience and as you may probably know running around across the stage like Freddie did it would be really hard to sing high notes that way. Unlike the singer in the video who was standing still. Freddie if he decided to do that could do it we have seen him do it before. He sung you take my breath away in Hyde park live in falsetto.

It’s well known that Freddie lacked lathe amounts of formal vocal training, and the way he sung relied heavily on straining his chest voice. This sounds very powerful and good for short periods of time but when used live for long stretches the voice can become strained. Freddie was very much a victim of having to pull his chest voice to reach higher notes.

Although I agree with you that he did use his chest voice a lot I would like to say that in some cases yes his voice was strained but in the majority of cases he just wanted to sound manlier in the 80s when he sung. I can’t tell this because by 1975 Freddie had already had nodules in his throat and pretty much still sung the same way until the 80s it may have been due to the nodules getting worse and his smoking and drinking habits too but at the same time he was still able to sing songs like excercises in free love all the way in 1987 where he sings an extremely high opera song which I don’t feel like should have been possible due to his smoking and drinking habits as well as the aids he had developed

Сколько написано классной музыки! Конечно, надо ее петь, доводить до слушателя. Но еще раз убеждаешься, насколько Квины совершенны во всем. Ну а вокал Фредди вообще недосягаем. Freddie tambien usaba mucho falsete o voz de cabeza en la canción. Menos en el D5, ahí si le metia con voz de pecho. Lo que pasa es que no todos tienen el mismo rango vocal. Freddie llegaba a un E5 (lo podes comprobar en hang on in there) y este tipo seguro debe llegar solo hasta un C5 más o menos
