A very succesful attempt to create a version with a live feel.
It really surprises me that not more people in the comments adress your splendid editing. Like changing the metrum in the vocal just enough to make it different from the album version and make it believable as a ‘would have been’ live version.
I’ve been a Queen fan since 1982 and I’m a musician/singer/sound engineer myself. And I would say: yes, this is really how an actual live performance of Don’t try so hard could have been.

this song got me in a terrible mess with our first grader. Thanks to Corona I had him for homeschooling, he as a big Freddie Mercury fan only worked with Queen Music and often wanted to know the content of the songs. This text is very counterproductive for a 6-year-old who is not exactly enthusiastic about his work.
