I am 36 years old. Laproscopic hysterectomy with removal of cervix uterus and left ovary. I am 4.5 weeks post op and I was so happy to find your videos because I've been terrified about what I can do right now. I was so active before surgery and I'm feeling the loss of my stamina so much it is putting me in a depression. I have saved your videos and I will be doing these every day. Thank you so so sooooo much! You are an angel!

Hey Trinny Had Total Hysterectomy 4.5 week ago and read your comment from a while back now but I'm feeling exactly what you described - exhausted and depressed. No idea what's going on inside my body but feel the shift of organs and loss of estrogen etc. Been put on HRT gel but only a temporary measure. Got an 8 week post op assessment in 4 weeks so in the dark until then as to what I can and can't do other than googling!! I hope you are fully recovered now. I'm starting these exercises today hoping they will help and lift my mood. I'm forcing myself to get out for a walk each day which helps but NEED more safe physical stuff to do.

@@jeanettethompson5089 To ease your mind, I am now 5 months out of surgery. Around the time of where youre at I started (and have continued) to change my diet and eat a lot of phyto estrogen foods such as soy related products and certain fruits and other things. A lot of Hummus, dried and fresh fruits especially peaches and bananas. I make a lot of stuff with tofu, and I've also been putting a scoop of vital proteins collagen powder in my coffee every morning. I drink a lot of green drinks, eat a lot of fish and veggies and a multivitamin with separate doses of vit c, vitamin d3, fish oil and q-10. My sex life and mood is better than it has ever been! Im not in the previous pain that I had before the surgery. I now have more wetness and regardless of what a lot of people say, my orgasms are amazing. I say if you had a good sex life before, and a good attentive partner then it will be even better after the healing process.
At 10 or 11 weeks I started doing all of the pelvic exercises and I walk walk walk, even during this winter I will do a 20-30 minute walk back and forth through my house for goo blood flow and exerise. I do a lot of kegels frequently. Breath in through the nose , hold and while releasing the breath, do a long kegel then release and repeat. Do not be alarmed even if months in that you feel pulls and tugs in your vaginal cuff(if you had cervix removed). It is normal. The only thing that wouldn't be normal, would be bleeding or extreme pain.
My depression and mood swings are gone. I would say they went away at about 12-14 weeks. The 6-8 weeks the doctors give you really doesn't explain the hormonal process. I say let your body heal but try to aid in producing natural hormone enhancing foods and products. I hope all of this helps because I wish someone would have told me. No matter how many videos I went through no one ever fully answered my questions or concerns.
As far as stamina in doing things, i do still get tired and sore but its not nearly as bad as it was. I'm hoping between 6 months to a year i will have my full energy coming back but at this point, its a marathon not a sprint. Healing vibes sent your way! ❤

I cannot thank you enough for this video. I'm 48, 7 and a half weeks into abdominal hysterectomy with some bad gastrointestinal complications. I was extremely active before the surgery, have been doing yoga on daily basis for a year and a half after getting certified with 500 hours of training. I was doing pretty intense hour weights and isometrics. Needless to say that this surgery has been extremely hard for me to bare even though I thought I would be back up in 6 weeks doing yoga...HA! I've learned to be patient and stay positive, and I just started doing pelvic floor exercises and today finally I dared to do this routine. I am scared of hurting myself because I already strained my groin muscle walking every day for 20-30 mins in the morning and evening (I had to back off of that). I will be doing this routine everyday and search your other videos. THANK YOU!

But really wanted to get back into some kind of excersise, slowely though. (was kinda fit prior) you really don't realise how much energy and unfit you become after this type of surgery. My friend recommended Yoga, but after watching some videos thought it wasnt for me. Then came across this one, Thanks Jessica nice and slow and great, not much intencity, but can build on that.. Hope you now doing ok, hopefully I will be able to join in more intence videos soon. Kay

You are an inspiration. And also thank you for spreading the women’s health PT word. I completely agree. I went before and after surgery and it has helped me a lot. Is there anything you recommend for a hypertonic pelvic floor? I was only shown a couple exercises for that before my insurance ran out and I couldn’t go anymore.
