- Found someone who was selling their collection that was hidden away in an attic for 20+ years. Cards range from the 1950's to the early 2000's. This is going to be a blast to dig through for gems!
The empty slots always leave us wondering.
3:29 was all I needed to see! Lol. Right there in the middle!
I think my best binder find was a 83 Fleer Boggs rookie.
Really cool to see that Rickey
I was checking comments to see if anyone saw that
Right whoever picked through those binders missed that one.
commons galore. somebody was glad to see you take it all off their hands
Commons galore, really. 90% are stars. Stick to needle point.
he is a collector
he is happy to have them
I mean even if you sell each for a penny that’s still more than he paid
You see a lot of commons, others see dozens of valuable cards from the 60s 70s and 80s. Carry on. This is why there are opportunities. The kids today have no idea what they're looking at.
The first 3 hockey pages with Bossy and Gretzky made your money.
Very nice!! I got the chills seeing the 64-65-66-67 stuff and 70s. I hope to buy something like this sometime this summer
Sweet pickup... I was 3:28 into video when I realized how good of a pickup that was after seeing that henderson 1980 topps rc. Congratulations on your purchase
My Dad had most of the Topps/Bowman sets complete from 54-60. He got drafted into the military in 1967 and my Grandma threw them out.
Oh wow nice score awesome looking collection love the vintage cards
I was at my uncles not so long ago and i decided to go into their dusty old basement for a game of hide and seek. I turned on my phone flashlight and I saw probably around 100,000 sports cards just in shoe boxes and I took a couple home myself because my uncle said he didn’t care about them anymore. One is worth over 1 grand.
Awesome, possible 10's of thousands of dollar value. Granted, PSA will bleed you dry authenticating ! Great find.
I hope so!
Great finds again. Nice Bossy rookies. RIP
I just spoke to my daughter to put an "ad" on social media for something very similar to what you got. The only stipulations I requested were for the cards NOT to be junk wax era or heritage cards because,1.i can cover my entire house with the junk wax cards and 2. the heratige cards are a joke!
Really nice video. Love vintage stuff and I have doing the same here lately buying smaller to mid sized collections. I love going through them everyone is different so fun to see how/what they collect then when you do hit a banger its all so much better. Love the content bro.
do you mind sharing how you go about buying smaller and mid sized collections?
This looks so cool. We can’t wait to watch.
Hefty collection someone likely put alot of money and time into. Astonishing someone would unload that for few hundred dollars. I am more interested in the story of people who unload these collections and what was final straw that got them to basically give them away for small fee.
My heart jumped when you opened the binder and the henderson rookie was right up front could very well be some life changing stuff in there good job hope it wasnt cherry picked with the empty spots on the binder sleeves
Me too, I had to rewind 2c if I was seeing things
Your best find yet!! We’ll worth $400! Congrats!
Rickey Henderson Rookie! Lots of great vintage HOF baseball cards. I’m a Eric Davis fan and saw a few rookies of him also.
So much more to come!
I really enjoy your journey of buying sports collections. its just crazy. Congratulations on ALL your purchases.
Thanks for the support!
awesome find!
3:30 we get a short peek at the Henderson rookie! That alone was a good % of what you paid, already. Cal Ripken rookie at 11:19! Sandberg rookie soon after. I pulled that one from a Repacked Wax box I got today, along with an '89 Upper Deck Griffey rookie! Very cool stuff! Find of the century!
Henderson rookie is in rough shape though.
If the Henderson card is in great shape it may have bought him a good used car.
It's a good thing these cards were in great shape because usually cards stored in an attic would suffer warping due to the heat.
What a great find. Congrats. Might be too overwhelming for you so you better send it to my house. A trip thru time indeed.
the first look on the hockey binder has some good stuff there...Bossy rookies, Gordie Howe's last card, Gretzky 3rd year
Great score...just the binders alone paid for it all
Congrats!! Some really nice vintage cards. That’s a bargain for $400!!
But I can't help but think with all the empty spaces in the binders that some of the really good cards were taken out before the sale was made, but still a pretty good deal !!
I just bought a 250000 card collection on Saturday. It's so much fun to go thru a large collection. I got a henderson rookie too. It's in great condition. Good luck on ur finds!!
Good luck! Post some videos about what you find!
I have collected Henderson since the mid 80s. I have his rookie of course but considered buying all i could find.
Wow! Spectacular!! That last album was killer! I would definitely go through that individually. Although he never panned out to be a great player that Eric Davis rookie fetches alot of money because there is only maybe 5 psa 10 known!! Plus that 82' Donruss Ripkin rookie is awesome too!! I wanna go through those cards with you!! lol Keep bringing these vids I can't get enough!!!
This collection will be a blast!
But he would be hard pressed to find a psa 10 in the entire collection
True but you never know, that's the thrill!!
It’s fun watching you go through the collection. The only thing that detracts from it is when you mispronounce players names.
I love binders that have no rhyme, reason or even theme as to what goes in them and in what order. Lol
I could never do that, and have my cards sorted by sport, year, set since the 80s
However I recently decided to have some duplicates on binders. That way I can make smsll collections, show them off for trades and keep the binder dynamic.
But I also love watching binders with no theme whatsoever
@@stereomois Oh, same. I'm the same way. I put full sets in binders and have most of them from 1978-1993 (all brands) and a handful of Topps after that. I have my Red Sox binders, by decade and brand. And I have my Hall of Fame Binders. Those are mixed, thought still sorted by player, brand and year. Lol. I supposed I should have said I "love" binders with no rhyme or reason. Lol
Back in 1994 I was 19 years old and found a abandoned house and whole attic was covered in baseball cards from 1940s to through the 60s...even had uncut cards on back of old cereal boxes....mantles uncut.....unreal....Jackie Robinson rookie and ted Williams rookie...bunch of mantles ...we carried them out in the old cereal boxes....
Those Bossy cards alone paid for it! Sweet collection find!
Yea there are 3 of them! Two look to be in really good shape could get a PSA 9.
Exactly! First thing I even saw. Then the Gretzky and Hull.
@@fortheloveofitcollector Amazing! Who sells that collection for $400??? 🤦♂️
@@Teabagonyou And a few Gordie Howe cards to boot !!
There were some really good vintage cards that you skimmed over, Minnie Minoso, Richie Allen etc. Nice find. All the 50's cards have strong demand.
Thanks for keeping an eye out! I found a ton more in the boxes will feature in upcoming videos.
that's because he has no idea what he's doing.
@@MyMg23 You could spend 30 years going through those cards. Most are commons, or too heavily circulated. He should be selling any and all valuable cards and not putting them in his PC.
Cool collection for sure! I live right where you found these. I was watching the beginning of the video and saw the exit. Lol. You got one from my back yard. I was interested in those oversized basketball cards. They are awesome. Any more videos showing more of the highlights of the collection?
I find these a bit west near Lakeland. I have a bunch I think I have 5 videos of this collection plus another one coming today.
Careful taking the cards out of old page binders. I had some that I kept in the garage that got too hot and the cards stuck to the plastic binders and were ruined!
I don't know many old school athletes but I know you got some gems in there
i would love to find stuff like this its so awesome just to dig i could look at cards all day long if my wife would let me lol that one binder had a ripken rookie in it and a sandburg rookie and that other one had a 1976 topps carl yaz in it it books 25!!! great find
Me too!! I never get that lucky
Awesome deal. There might be some really rare 90s inserts in there. Anything from the 90s numbered out 100 or lower is desired
My friend Keith in NY who you sound like used to buy collections and sell them at the flea market years ago.He told you have to really spend money but you get alot of inventory.
To anyone reading this on another, if my Target is any indication,Topps has massively overprinted 22 Topps Baseball,so many different kinds of packaging before series 2 or the factory set!
These finds are incredible,Mike Bossy just passed away!
Yea its really a blast, especially when you find stuff like this. Part 2 is going to be fun, been digging through these today and found a bunch.
Back in the 1960s, I was walking threw the alleys where I grew up & found three binders of 58, 59 & 60 baseball cards on top of a garbage can. I picked them up, brought them home and still have them today. Most of them are PSA 4 to 6.
Wow me and my daughter just started collecting cards. If u need a home for the cards 1 day we would really be interested on making a deal on some cards. I'm not rich but rich in family .Great find
There are some really valuable BB cards in there. The 86 Ryan has sold for over a grand in PSA10.
His is a 5, what goes that go for?
Holy shit! First hockey page had three Bossy RC’s! Then three Gretzkys!
I know I was blown away too!
400$ very well spent. Great collection
I'm pretty sure the 1st Joe Morgan in the last binder was his rookie card!!! The binders alone paid for everything!!! Findin that kind of stuff is amazing. I love diggin!!! Can't wait for the updates.
This one is going to be a blast!
Neither Morgan in that binder was his rookie,it is 64 or 65 with Sonny Jackson after the 63 Rose multi rookie card!
Aaaahhhh. I thought it was close.🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@wento5461 no big deal,69,71 not close to rookie BUT still very good cards to have!
Deion Sanders in a Yankees uniform was my gem card in this collection, and you glossed right over it lollol. I hope you went back to it. Ultra rare 👍
where in the video did you see it? I found a couple
@@fortheloveofitcollector Just a plain ol Deion in Yankees uniform. May be his rookie 🤔 bc he was originally drafted by the Yankees.
And it’s actually not an ultra rare card. Lol. You can find the card for sale. What I meant was it’s pretty rare to find one in a collection 😆. Still a sick card.
Love the pickup. Saw a few of those vintage big boy basketball loose cards. I collect vintage basketball and if you're willing to sell them I would be highly interested in them. Good luck on finding some gems.
I'm going to showcase them in the next video, so you will get a better look at them. Thanks for watching!
@@fortheloveofitcollector Awesome! Looking forward to seeing what you find!
I did actually like the video. You got some decent cards from the 70's there.
The ‘82 Donruss Ripken Jr in white binder about 11 min in is a RC. 👍🏼
Definetly just because it isn't Topps,he was in all 3, had them as a kid!
I mentioned the 1971 Simmons card in my other comment, from a first pass look I would say that the vast majority of the value I saw was the 1972 topps stuff, along with a few of the 1971s if they aren't insanely bad condition. Also the 1975s I saw have value, even though it won't be huge. Great video man
Thanks for keeping an eye out! Could you let me know at which point of the video you saw the Ted Simmons? So much to go back through.
Those are nice to get,if 72 was high number like Steve Garvey, there is some good value!
@@fortheloveofitcollector 19:23 left side up top
Don’t forget about the Sam Vincent Hoops card with MJ in the wrong uni. Depending on what set you got you may have gotten it. Valuable
I will keep my eye out!
No its not...like 5-10
@@DrifterThrifters Correct - Valuable for that era - :)
Where are the don mattingly cards @ ..hes the one who got the 80s goin ..⚾️😎💙
Man u scored a great collection 😎⚾️
Hi God bless have a good day.
Dream purchase! Congrats! One of Griffey cards was a Topps Traded RC. Worth thousands if it grades 10. Wanna quick flip the purchase for $500 :-)
It looks more like a nightmare purchase to me. Nothing good there is grading a 10; get real.
I though it had been picked through already. That front page of hockey might have had earlier Gretzky, if not rc. However, the Henderson rc...😛. That stuff might not be picked through. At least, not all of it. 60k cards for $400. I'm in all day on that. The search through alone is worth that.
I too just went through the same. Someone advertised that husband passed away and wanted to get rid of the mess. So ..I was the fortunate one..paying less then you for about 10 binders. Complete sets .numbered accordingly. Baseball and hockey only. From 1980 to 2012. Alot of mint condition Arod...Jeter's. But ..looks like we both lucked out.
Thats awesome, yea you never know whats out there.
There was a Rickey Henderson rookie in the thirkd or fourth binder
You did very well. As a Vintage Baseball and Basketball card collector, the $400 for all binders and other assorted boxes was well worth it. Always fun to go through them after the fact. You overlooked some RC's like Sandberg's 83, Ripken's 82 and some others. Let me know if you have any questions or are curious about any of the old vintage cards.
I actually have a question. I just came across a 1983 Topps Tony Gwynn Rookie but the card is a mini card, its not the normal sized cards. I can't seem to find what set it is from.
@@fortheloveofitcollector It may be from an odd-ball or it could be a trimmed card.
Dude you have a Rickey Henderson rookie in the folder!
I'm going to showcase that binder in the next video. Thanks for keeping an eye out!
I want it, To go with my others.
My man flashes by Ricky Henderson and Cal Ripken rookies like its nothing. I wish i can do that lol.?
I usually go through the cards before doing a video to show what I find, this time I was going through for the first time during the video. I had to go back and go through them 2 more times to make sure I didn't miss anything lol
The first hockey binder paid for the purchase, sweet deal.
That was a pretty sweet page!
A lot of great cards you find the best deals
I got lucky on this one, I search Facebook marketplace for days and this one I found after scrolling for a good 15 minutes.
A quick question: what would you say the market price is for random bulk cards? Like, what rate per thousand cards? Like this collection was $6.67 per 1000 cards, a little higher than the going rate right now for Magic: the Gathering bulk, but a a good deal cheaper than Pokemon bulk. Is there a standard rate per thousand you keep in your head, or is there a general market consensus on bulk pricing? Are there websites you can go to in order to sell bulk in this manner?
May be moving into sports cards before too long
My local sports card shop pays $15 for 5,000 bulk cards. I would think that it be around there for just commons. Getting collections like this is a little different because its not all commons, there's rookies and hall of famers and you could get lucky to find some really valuable cards depending on the situation of the deal your getting like this one not being touched for 20+ years. Whats the going rate on Pokemon bulk I have a ton.
@@fortheloveofitcollector Cool, really appreciate the info. Pokemon has bottomed out at around $25 per 1000 cards, unsorted common and uncommon, in Near Mint condition. If you're looking to get out of them, let me know, I'm sure we can work something out
1st reaction ....Attic = Heat......before I watch the entire video.
The hockey looks good at a glance
Only bossy lol
Great fun .
Imagine finding cards in an attic and someone decided to slip in some 2022 topps heritage cards! That may be a collector's worst nightmare!😝
So will you have them graded? Are they worth anything? Reason I ask is I have most of these cards and want to grade them but which ones and is it worth it?
Noticed a '76 Yount in there, books for $60 in NRMT.
Those cards be bending pretty good every time the page is turned 🤔..
That's incredible! Why doesn't this stuff happen to me?
Great find and gotta love the card hunt! How do you find the listings for these?
I find a lot of them on facebook marketplace but sometimes just locally
Nice hockey hits I saw Gretzky second year and some other goodies
Lot of good cards
Rickey henderson rookie in the middle of one of top pages of binder nice mines been through bike spokes
2 Daren Puppa autos on the first page of the hockey album. Not $ but cool.
what a find! how about opening up the second booklet of cards and seeing that ricky henderson rookie card!!
I love finding collections like this one!
did i miss where you talked about that rickey henderson rookie i saw at 3:29 in the video? that's his rookie right? sick score if so. if you mentioned it in the vid i missed it. good vid!
I did not mention it in the video because I was just skimming by quickly but it will be in the part 2 video of this collection. Thanks for keeping an eye out!
Awesome
They have 1 binder with all the good cards or higher priced cards since the craze everyone that had a collection is doing the same but it's a hobby for reason
😲Love the collection and the price pd! 🤩There was a 1919 Wayne Gretzky sold for like 1.2M a while ago. I just wanna reach through and find the right 1952 Mickey Mantle(3.8 M) and/or 1909 Honus Wagner (5.2M) ("gems" as you put it) and I'd be a happy camper! lol
ps: You seem pretty good with this stuff, but I hope you have a lot of card sleeves for some of those in the boxes! The pt dedcutions at grading sucks!
But Good Luck and I'm excited for you!
Thanks man I appreciate the support!
1919 huh now that is vintage lol I need that card!
1919👀 in that case HE was ancient and vintage😂 you and I both need that card!! Let me try and correct that “1979”!!!
1919 Wayne Gretzky? He must be the "Highlander"? 🙀
I pulled out a 1975 basketball card from my cardboard box of John Brisker from the Sonics. What made the card unique was the copyright date on the back was 1969. Can that increase its value?
guaranteed you made at least 1000% of your investment
What you need to do immediately is got and get some acid free pages and transfer the cards into these. Those of a higher quality, put in a penny holder and it’s own plastic holder and ship them to PSA when time is right for you. Those card will get damaged in those holders over time.
Where do you usually find most of the collections? Facebook marketplace only? Craigslist?
Mostly facebook marketplace but I do check craigslist sometimes to see if I will get lucky.
The Bruce suttwr with the snake is cool I think it’s valuable
I thought I seen a Rickey Henderson RC at 3:38 but you must have discovered that by now, that card might have paid for the whole lot, then the 2nd year Gretzky’s nice
Wayne gretsky alone Will cover the buy
I was surprised when I found them and saw how good of condition they are in
@@fortheloveofitcollector look for expert then grade it...ezpz money
I seen a 87 Topps Tiffany Kirby Puckett in there
Look for the Sam Vincent in the NBA hoops there might be the Jordan in the #12 jersey that's worth a couple bucks
I just paid $300 for 4 -1000 CT. Boxes/ 4 full binders...I had to stop looking ( for now )...need more hard cases/ sleeves...probley got more than 10×'s.paid....( I did not know ..) I look alittle..this one / this one ......break at home....husband died....clean out...going back for much , much more....inside scoop....only me...
Saw a Henderson rookie in one of those books
@ 9:43 1974 Jesus Alou is an error card. No position listed in the upper right corner.
You skipped over a Ted Simmons rookie. It's a huge card in good condition, I am sure that one wasn't in great condition, but as long as it's not ripped it has value. That was the best card I saw that you didn't say out loud, but I haven't gotten to the 69-70 basketball that someone mentioned you found
It's funny you mention that because for so long everybody thought Garvey would get in the Hall of Fame before Simmons, definetly overshadowed by Bench,Carter to an extent Bob Boone because Phillies were good!
@@terrytitus6945 True. Simmons is the easier case in my opinion for sure. However 10 years ago I might have guessed Garvey because of popularity
I would say you at least tripled your $$$. Can’t wait for the next update.
10X
Skimmed over the Murphy homebreak around 9:00
1971 Ted Simmons rookie was a nice card...
YOU MADE A COMMENT THAT THE ONE PLAYER WAS HANK AARONS BROTHER I NEVER KNEW HANK WAS AFRICAN AMERICAN BUT YOU HAVE A GREAT COLLECTION THERE
as if you just glossed over that rickey henderson rookie. you shoulda put that in a 1 touch immediately. if it's even just a psa 9 it's thousands
Many empty spots usually means they took out the great cards but great find for 400 bucks.
60,000 cards for $400?
@@angellamyers9758 like I said great find for 400 bucks.
That's insane, that's less than a penny each
Donyou still have the magazines? I would like to buy if cheap enough
I really wanted to see that Henderson collection... and any Bo Jackson?
It will.be featured in tomorrow's video and also a ton of bo jackson
