    Great video! I've always been anti-ereader and love everything about physical books....but then I became a book addict and I buy and buy and buy and end up DNFing so many books. Storing and getting rid of all of these books is a big headache, since I have limited space. So I decided to buy a Kobo about a week ago and am waiting for it to come in the mail! It will let me try out ebooks without making the commitment of physically buying them (my library has a great selection of ebooks!), and will allow me to read at night without bugging my partner, which is a big hassle now having a reading light that I have to charge and attach awkwardly to my books while reading. I hope I love my Kobo as much as you do🤞

      Thank you so much for sharing all of this ! I feel like I am reading my own journey in your words! I now have a wish list on Amazon full of books I want to have physically, because I know that I will live them / they are gorgeous, or I have read them on my kobo and want to own a physical copy. It is so much better to have the option to read and DNF as much as we want and only buy the books we love. I’m so happy you got a Kobo and I am so excited for you🥳🥳

    I got a Kindle touch in November 2011, the very month it was released. It is my oldest device still in service! For me an eReader made the difference between reading and not reading. Yes, I don't know why, suddenly, I just stopped reading paper books. So for me, there is no way to return to the paper book.
    Great video, you pointed out basically all the pros and and cons. But you skipped a major pro: the search. Imagine you a reading Lev Tolstoi novel War and Peace, which has more than 450 characters. And you are in the third volume and you come across, let say Ana Pavlovna. You forgot who is she? You touch the name, "search the book", find let say 112 places with the name, the first one is where, usually, the writer introduces the character.

      Most eReaders also have highlighting, note taking and dictionary now too.
      I'm not sure if she touched on these as I'm in the middle of the video. ❤

    I've had Kindle Paperwhite for a few years, and couple of years ago I bought Kobo Clara HD. I think it's time for me to upgrade the Kindle since mine doesn't have the colour temperature option. But I do like both devices!

    • @Emmablanket
      @Emmablanket  Před rokem +2

      Oh yeah I completely agree with you, it was a selling point for me as well!
      My Kobo has the colour temperature option (Kobo Clara 2E) , I believe Kobo made a Comfort light , and comfort light PRO options.
      The option called « Comfort light pro » is I believe the one that can be compared to the temperature on Kindle . Kindles are great devices too though hehe!
      But just in case you wanted to stay with the same brand… this option is apparently available on the Clara 2E , Kobo Sage, and kobo Libra 2 ☺️

      @@Emmablanket I've managed to get rid of the ads on the Kindle Paperwhite. I'm also a little more familiar with it, so it's a bit more intuitive to use. I use Kobo to read articles added through Pocket, and also to read ebooks borrowed from the public library. Kindle doesn't allow these features. I don't think I need to really upgrade any of these devices since they work perfectly fine for their purposes, and I'm able to read almost anywhere. Very happy with it!

      @@safbk5081 you won't regret it! I'm about to upgrade from kobo clara to the new kobo libra colour this month. It's really made reading so much more convenient for me, especially on the go or while traveling. I don't have to think about how many books are reasonable to put in my luggage lol, and no more stressing about finding adequate light. I've been reading about 30-40 novels per year since getting it four years ago, which aren't some crazy numbers but it's more than enough for me. Best investment ever!

      Does your paperwhite support PDF? My ancient kindle keyboard supports PDFs so I’m wondering if they removed that feature or not? I was surprised in the video when she said no PDF on kindle.
      Also, I think there’s an app you can download to convert files to a kindle supported file type.
