Trivia - Hry
Man this was impressive. You absolutely crush it in Asia. I always find it so impressive how you manage to spell everything lol. Spelling limits me so much.
you are not the only one I always get Ouagadougou wrong.
@@ckie-nk3de Just remember that is has 3 times ou in the name
Same man..
It shows the countries missing, At the end it was showing Cape Verde missing as well
AH you seen it!
I would have been very annoyed if I missed that one!
Herat in Afghanistan would've filled in most of the large gap in central Asia. It is the largest city and provincial capital in that part of Afghanistan, and was historically the capital of the Timurid Empire. For all I know, it is the largest city in its range of longtitudes.
I was trying to think of another city in Afghanistan. Will remember it for next time 🙂
You were missing Vitoria in Brazil, with no "c". Maybe Fortaleza would also have worked.
Been watching channel for a while and loving the stuff. Me and my friend generally play along and you are tough to beat! Really glad to see the channel growing. Much love my kiwi friend!
Thanks so much!!!!
Two tricks for remembering which is which when it comes to latitude and longitude:
1. Flatitude
2. LONGitude lines are the LONG ones
They're not though? They're longer than the latitude lines towards the poles, but they're half as long as the equator, which is also a longitude line.
Maybe you could say that longitude lines are the ones that are equally long to each other?
Just came across your channel a few days ago and I watched so many videos. Great channel!
As someone who’s clueless at most geography (don’t even know where the 50 US states or 47 Japanese prefectures are) this was super impressive to watch.
It seems that they added some cities because I got 9375/9449. It's funny because I'm #1 on the intermediate leaderboard now with eveyone behind stuck at 9310
Did it myself - got only 9149 cities and only 147 countries, am happy to see you got more
Great score though 🙂
@@MrQuiz thanks!
Another job well done!
Thanks for making the fun quizzes?
3:53: It's Gaziantep.
Your really good at this, i think it would be cool if you did this again but try with the lowest amount of cities, as in cities typed in
Great Video man
I'm from Campos, one of the cities you missed in Brazil, haha. I spent the whole video rooting for you to name it.
I always remember latitude and longitude as latitude has an a in, for 'across'.
Fuzhou might have worked for the Chinese gap, or other cities right outside of Shanghai like Hangzhou
Chelyabinsk in Russia might do the trick in Asia.
Fun quiz!
I have the trick of considering latitude as altitude. So high up you are on the map.
You really need to remember Quetta in Pakistan. Big city and that would have filled the gap in this quiz as well as the circles around cities.
13:02 Lubbock would have filled in that gap in the United States and Praia, Cape Verde would have helped in Cape Verde too
enjoyable video :)
peculiar thing about this is that the quiz double-counts some city names (london) but ignores others (dublin (ireland, texas, etc.))
oh, just got to the part about cities needing to have at least 50k to count
when I saw the gap I was just like "Herat", since I remember how often my older brother (solider in the Aussie army) would talk about that place
Enjoyed the video, you should do the same quiz but for latitude, it's on the same site
It's in the works! 🙂
I did it on intermediate mode and got 100%. I randomly guessed Burbank (CA) and it completed Canada for me lmao
There is a Sporcle quiz with most common 50K city names which may be useful here!
MRQUIZ: nothing in this bit of Australia here...
PEOPLE IN ESPERANCE AND KALGOORLIE: 🤨
I remember latitude with "FLATitude"
I spent far too long trying to work out cities in Alaska, Yukon, etc without realising that once I had Anchorage I could just leave that area. Wasted about three minutes there. Other than that I did OK, but had I not spent so long on Canada I would have had time to finish western Africa, which I would have filled in easily but never actually got time to get over there! I only spotted I hadn't even started there when I had about ten seconds left and was half way through typing Monrovia when I ran out of time :D
Seriously impressively. How did you learn this kind of stuff? I’m good with flags but cities I’m terrible at and always wanted to learn but don’t want to just sit and study a map
I'm thinking of doing a video (or series) where I explain this. One thing I don't like is just rote learning. It's much more fun to learn about facts and context of a place and then it sticks in the brain easier! 🙂
I think Fortaleza would have filled the gap in Brazil, or Feira de Santana and Vitoria
Kicking myself for forgetting Fortaleza 😖
Nanjing is just around that gap, is it not?
Yea and Xiamen/Amoy, around the same longitude.
Should have got Nanjing!
And Fuzhou
AGHHZHAHHHHHHHHH HE’S COMING
9448 first try, pretty satisfied
just played it before watching, got 8759/9310 on beg tho
Moscat, capital of Oman, is spelled with an "o" it seems. Second time I've watched you make that mistake :)
The city of Muscat is actually too small to be on this quiz according to the creator's database. What we know as Muscat is divided into multiple wilayats, and the one called Muscat is too small. A good alternative for this quiz is Seeb, the most populous wilayat and easy to remember :)
nice
Laramie is in Wyoming, not Texas.
Game name?
