I woudnt be surprised if she told him too.
In fact its incredibly common for marriages where one partner is terminally ill to bless the other to carry on and find someone, especially when the couple is young.
Now the details for him I dont know, but if he was with his wife for her dieing breath... something tells me she probably told him too, and he still promised to love her and be by her side.
but again... I dont know the details, but "cheating" on your terminally ill spouse is usually not what you might think it is from afar.
