- The Phantom Fortress of World War 2 is a Shocking Story from the files of the Unexplained that leaves more questions than answers. Did a B-17G Flying Fortress fly and land itself at an airfield in Belgium? Or Did something else occur that may be even stranger?
When the Phantom Fortress landed, the ground crew were astonished to find that not a soul was on board and that all of the parachutes were still left on the rack. Where did the crew go? How did the Fortress land itself? How were all the parachutes still onboard?

This has happened several times I remember one in England. I think they found the crew in the English channel. Also sometimes they would carry spare parachutes. Normally they would wear their parachutes and in case that a bullet went through and it's been ripped it apart they could grab another.

@@TheDukeOfDankness hey also I don't know if you're just into military aviation but there's a really good book from a guy that served in Vietnam called "The things They carried" it might be we instead of they. There was an incident where there was a special forces team on a mountain and they had a collective hallucination and lost their freaking minds. That would be some good material for you but also the book is very personal and this writer has a way of putting you there. You know how when you read like a documentary it's just the facts? This actually describes the experience I would highly recommend you take the time to read it just go to your local library. It's not really a long book. I don't want to give you any spoilers but it gets intense at times and it's not fictional this is his life story about the war.

Duke. Another total bomb ass story my brother. I was riveted. I found myself asking myself so many damn questions. Who put the landing wheels down. what was going on with the inoperable engines. The whole unused parachute situation. The RAF Major who boarded the plane had to be wiggin' out. You've really outdone yourself researching this one my friend ! Not only do you never copycat videos, which often just can't be helped because of the genre being historical in nature. Out of five stars, I give ya a solid 7.5 on this one little brother. Sorry for rambling on this response bro. But this video has special meaning to me, as I may have mentioned to you before that my Uncle Bob, my dad's youngest brother was killed 3/9/1945 in Belgium. Although he was an engineering infantry battalion. The 84th Infantry "Rail Splitters." they would seek out land mines. Talk about nuts. His name was Robert Emmett O'Toole. age 23 when he died. He actually "found" a damn mine on 3/3/1945, then lived for 6 agonizing days before passing on the 9th. Coincidentally, my birthday is March 10th. Talk about times being different back then. My Grandmother was comforted a great deal that he was able to see a priest for last rights before dying. Again. an amazing video bro. I'm likely beginning to bore you when I keep saying, "one of my favorites," over and over again. Thanks man !

This is a story that I read about it in a Christian magazine (either CHARISMA magazine or the PENTECOSTAL EVANGEL). One story tells of two British fighter planes and the other story tells of five British fighter planes that were involved. We will go with the two-plane story.
In the Battle of Britain, 1940, some British fighter pilots engaged German fighters and bombers over England. One British fighter saw his buddy in another plane get shot up really bad by a German fighter. He saw his body slump forward in the cockpit, the plane lost altitude and it looked like it would plummet to the earth and crash. Then, all of a sudden, the pilot saw another person appear in the cockpit and take control of the plane. The "reborn" British fighter gained altitude, engaged one or more German fighters, shot them out of the sky and then landed in a nearby field. When a local airfield crew arrived at the British fighter in the field, all they saw was the body of the dead pilot. It happened to two British fighters.
I remember I was hitchhiking in Wyoming years ago and this guy picked me up. I believe he was with the Marines at the Battle of Fallujah (2004?). He said that his platoon was pinned down in a building and surrounded by enemy forces. It was a clear, blue sky that day. Then, all of sudden, this cloud came out of nowhere and covered their whole building. The Marines made their escape and everyone survived. After the last Marine escaped the building, the cloud lifted.

The music done with the visuals makes me want to look over my shoulder and it's broad daylight with the kid running around making. trouble like a wild Comanche Indian and im still freaked!!. I remember this ol jungle Marine that I worked for back when I was younger told me a story that over one of the Atoll Islands, a limping Navy Corsair was being pursued by a real crackshot Jap 0 and when the kamikaze was just about to open up and finish him off, the American pilot who was already shot to hell but good flipped the script, backed out, fishtailed, and jettisoned Sally Forth upright into a odd Cloud ...a very odd cloud which w the Japanese fighter pilot would later say look like the face of Jesus. The American who was badly injured according to the Japanese pilot entered the cloud and never came out the other side... No streamline, chemtrail or quantrail, debris, splash or oil slick on the water below was ever seen or found. He just vanished for good.withoit a trace.😶😶. B-17 bombers were equipped with automatic pilot switch to fly automatically so changes of planes landing by themselves on auto pilot are slim or million to one.
