American Standard Touchless Toilet Installation: Concealed Trapway

  • Help control the spread of germs in the bathroom with the Cadet Touchless Toilet from American Standard. Simply position your hand in front of the sensor to trigger the powerful Cadet flush, an all-time, American Standard favorite for its proven ability to clear the bowl quickly and completely. Equipped with reliable touchless technology, a dependable flushing system, and a push-button actuator to enable a manual flush for uninterrupted operation, the Cadet Touchless Toilet is engineered to outperform and ensure a cleaner, more hygienic bathroom environment. To install your American Standard Touchless Toilet, there are 3 parts to this installation:
    1. Installing the toilet bowl
    2. Attaching the toilet tank
    3. Connecting the sensor
    The toilet parts included with your American Standard Touchless Toilet are as follows:
    1. Bowl
    2. Seat
    3. Attachment Tool
    4. Batteries
    5. Sensor
    6. Control Module
    7. Hardware
    8. Gasket
    9. Tank
    10. Tank Lid
    For Part 1 of the installation, Installing the Toilet Bowl, follow these steps:
    1. Shut off the water supply line and remove the old toilet
    2. Clean the wax from the flange area as best you can. Make sure there is no debris in the hole
    3. Secure the floor bolts to keep them upright
    4. Press the wax ring firmly onto the tank
    5. Use tape to help align the bowl with the floor bolts (optional)
    6. Place the bowl over the floor bolts. Apply the weight evenly.
    7. Secure bowl to the floor using the plastic wingnuts. Hand tighten (no tools required)
    8. Apply the cap to cover the bolts.
    9. Remove the optional placement tape from the floor
    For Part 2 of the installation, Attaching the Toilet Tank, follow these steps:
    1. Slide the gasket onto the toilet tank
    2. Connect the water supply line to the valve and hand tighten. Then align the tank on top of the bowl
    3. Attach plastic washers and nuts to the bolts on the tank
    4. Use the attachment tool provided to secure nuts in place. Do not overtighten
    For Part 3 of the installation, Connecting the Sensor, follow these steps:
    1. Inside the tank, place the control module bracket over the flush valve in filter line
    2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to open control module housing
    3. Install the supplied 4 AA batteries in the waterproof control module housing
    4. Be sure to install batteries in the correct direction and orientation
    5. Assemble control module and place it in the bracket
    6. Connect the control module wire with the wire from the flush valve
    7. Open the sensor module by removing the two screws
    8. Remove the back plate to access battery component, taking care not to undo the O-ring
    9. Install the 3 AAA batteries
    10. Reassemble the waterproof sensor module housing. Tighten the screws
    11. Place the tank cover on the toilet
    12. Mount the sensor within 3 feet of the toilet using the adhesive backed tape
    13. The mounting base can also be secured to wall using supplied screws
    14. Attach the sensor module to the base using quarter turn tabs
    15. Turn on the water supply and flush test the toilet
    16. Install the seat. Instructions are packaged with the seat

    is it feasible to install if supply line is from the floor, about 5 inches from wall?

    How in the world does the ring for the hidden side caps set in the hole!

      @@americanstandard what about a video explaining how to replace a seat on the toilet in this video? I believe each of the three videos you linked are for normal toilets where you can access the bolts but just looking/reaching under the toilet. My toilet just has the little opening at the base…how do I change the seat!!!???
