The woman is his wife. Apparently Chris was a songwriter prior, and his wife got him past the hurdle to sing. I hear he has anxiety, so he is most comfortable with her on stage, which is why you notice him looking at her often (and with her voice, I would too).

I was seriously about to mention "Say Something". The "Man In The Woods" album was Justin's dabbling in country (not super country sounding) but The Duet between Justin and Chris is hands down something that just shows how fucking versatile Chris really is has a singer
So what I did notice about Justin was he really knew how to work the crowd and he was in charge of the band and this arrangement. Lots of stagecraft.
I know this performance is what kinda blew up Stapleton's career but to me, JT stole the show on that stage.
I wasnât a huge JT fan, but got tickets a few years ago to his concert & was very impressed with his performance. Heâs so talented & puts on an incredible show. Iâve seen Chris live too. He just stands there & sings but the soul, love & vibe filled up the whole amphitheater. You gotta hear Midnight Train to Memphis. I guarantee youâll want to dance.

Drink You Away is JT's song. You need to listen w/o interruption to the music and voices as JT was doing triple duty. He directed the band, sang CS's song with Morgane Stapleton(wife) and even played the guitar. This to me was a legendary performance by all. The band obliterated this performance.

I think that this will go down in history as one of the best live performances ever. Every thing came together so fantastically. All 3 voices were at the top of their game hitting 3 pointers. The band was all the way live. Listen a few more times and you will get it(uninterrupted)!
A little surprised the you were dissing JT. That performance was dynamite and with JTâs band and horns behind it took this song to another level. They are friends and Chris asked him to perform with him at the CMAâs. Yes their voices are very different but this performance with JT was outstanding. That was Chrisâs wife Morgane singing harmonies. All three are songwriters.

When I saw Chris and Justin in the title, I thought (hoped) it was Say Something. It's a really cool song by itself, but the video is just so unique and groundbreaking. One single take! It's unbelievable.

Even if you don't like Justin stylistically, the energy and the fun the band and the three lead singers are having as well as the improvisation is infectious and that is what made the performance so special. The fact that you weren't rocking out and don't acknowledge just the sheer energy and feel good vibes is crazy haha

This was an absolute amazing performance from the band that was incredible (you have to listen to all the riffs and the way the band played off each other) to the vocals that were incredible. Arguably the best award show performance ever.
Idk man. Guess JTâs not for everyone. Personally, that dude kills it. Heâs at a level every other pop star keeps trying to reach. Every time he comes back after a long movie break, he jumps right back to the top. My opinion, this was an example of the top country vocalist singing with the top pop vocalist. Not everyone likes the high singing.
I like JT, he's got some great songs. The second song was alright with him, but this really just felt like shoving him into somewhere he doesn't fit, just for the sake of (publicity or money or ego or whatever that isn't music). I like the guy, but he canNOT sing a country song.

If you listen to Chris singing this solo, you'll hear his incredible runs. IMHO, Justin knows how good Chris is and is trying to out-perform him. Morgane, Chris's wife, is the female singer. She has a sweet voice. Chris is being a gentleman and letting JT do all the runs and falsetto.

This is a great collaboration. Justin is a Memphis boy so the blues is in his blood. Chris could sing the phone book and he'd put goosebumps on your goosebumps. Thanks for doing a reaction to it.
JT was basically singing here outside his purview but the two were able to incorporate each of their own styles to each otherâs songs and the place obviously couldnât believe how amazing and fire it sounded. Itâs true that JT is not for everyone but the dude was perfect here as far as I know how both songs go. I knew both songs before this performance so it was such a treat.

I absolutely adore Chris and Morganâs, but if you canât see and hear the amazing musicianship in Justin, youâre not paying attention. Their voices are very different, but these folks are fantastic and obviously love playing together. I was blown away when I first saw this performance, and still am, 50 or more views later. This is very sophisticated in the vocals, the instrumentals, the background singers, the overall band. . . Brilliant, IMHO. Enjoy it.
