This level did feel criminally under beta-tested to be honest. It was nightmarishly hard, and not in a fun FromSoftware kind of way. In the type of way that makes you want to pull your hair out.
I've just turned my PS2 off as I cannot be bothered to try the climb again for the 50th time today. It's almost random if she makes the jumps or not haha! I also thought in Natlas mines, when you are swinging from rope to rope - that can't have been scrutinised in testing much as SO MANY TIMES I just flew straight through the rope instead of grabbing it. Ugh. I really do prefer the OG on PS1.
I'm living this hell THIS YEAR, THIS MONTH hahahaha, playing Anniversary for the very first time. I just can't pass the second retracting ledge. It's the jumps and grappling the two rings what is driving me crazy.
I think they beta tested it, then instead of altering the level, they just slapped more checkpoints in and called it a day
I play this on psp, my question was "who the fuck tested this", he should not be a tester ever again
Level design is not a problem. This level was interestingly designed. The problem is the controls and camera. You never know for which side Lara will jump. The controls change according to the camera's position. Feels like gambling. BTW I am also here after dying from the nth time in that lava pit.

It is. and Very hard and frustrating. It worst then Any other levels of this game.
I can’t even begin to tell you how pissed off I was with this shit level. With the other bad levels in the game there was always at least a small part I enjoyed or liked, with this level there are genuinely no redeeming parts of it.

I hate this fucking game so much, but I just can't give up being this close to the end. The second I beat this game I uninstall it immediately. I've never raged this hard in my life.

It's easy to succeed if you down(Back) the L3 stick the moment you grab the second pole.

"Talk about being your own worst enemy" really cracked me up, I had forgotten she says that in Anniversary.
This level is practically impossible on steam. The camera angles fuck with how and where lara jumps towards. I wanted to slap tf out of my lap top and spike my controler as hard as I can to the tile floor. No way in hell this guy did this his first time. Probably took forever to make this video.
I literally uninstalled the game over this BS at 4:30.

@@jackw1014 I hear you. Sometimes she makes it but 75% of my tries, she just hits the lip, stumbles and falls into the lava. Then you have to go through the fight again, and again, and again haha.

4:30.. all throughout my playthrough of this on PS3.. I meshed really well with sliding off slippery stuff like this off poles and platforming off them. I managed this in one go (I did accidentally jump right off stupidly off the platform though... I forgot how to jump) because for whatever reason, I managed to perfect (most of the time) this style platforming.. I worried about the end a bit, but I managed. I tried the shortcut I heard about but it broke my brain trying to piece it together from videos. My issues were wall run grapples and specific platforming off them.. But not in moments like this apparently.. I got really lucky.. I wasn't as smooth as you were off the poles (probably cause I was panicking) but I usually am.. Got past it one go somehow..

Oh well, I can see I'm not the only one who has/had/having a greeeeat deal of trouble with this FUCKINGLY ANNOYING level! I've lost count of my failed attempts already.
This is bollocks.
Forgive my harshness but this really is cobblers - it hasn't improved on the original game in any way, it's overloaded with pointless extra detail and additions and I'd hazard that playing Lara in this rehash must be very frustrating, control-wise. Just my opinion; I haven't played any computer game seriously since Spider-Man 2: Enter Elektro.....
I'm not really too qualified to comment on the Tomb Raider sequels, relaunches, anniversary editions, reboots and whatnot but I found watching this video underwhelming. The puzzle quotient has been amped up considerably but I did like the idea of the lava rising up underneath the big platform where, in the first game back in 1996 (!) you fought the big Torso monster.
Stick to Mah Jongg, the big Torso monster is in the next level Final Conflict LOL

Skip the cutscene starting at 0:52. Then, the Cat Mummy that appears at 2:00 will appear and 22 of them will appear.
