  • I install the Gotway trolley handle on my 67-volt Mten3 and demonstrate its use.
    According to EWheels, the install kit now comes with properly sized washers. No grinding necessary :-)

    Just picked up an MTen3 for my daughter on a great local deal. She asked if it was possible to get a trolley handle since it’s still a little heavy for her to carry around. Installation looks pretty easy! I’ll have to pick up one of these. Thanks for the video!

      Just popped on to say I finally got a handle from eWheels, and it installed great! No washers included, but the bolts went into the pedals just fine. They included zip ties to secure the trolley to the MTen3 handle, but I used Velcro straps instead in case I wanted to remove it easily in the future. My daughter loves that it doubles as a stand by lying it on the back. All in all, great purchase!

    So I finally got my Mten 3 and the trolley handle from a shop in France, that ordered it from China. So waited a few months to receive it. The Mten 3 seem okay, the handle missing two pop rivets and buckled but functional. Got a 40% refund for the handle so I have the money to buy a blind rivet tool and pop rivets, so I’m good. Will be going to the stores tomorrow, then install. Still painful back, but will try to ride, hopefully possible by now.

    Marty, the way I managed the top assembly was by getting a 1/8” threaded SS from Home Depot. I next bent this rod forming so a U shape that wrapped cleanly around the EUC top handle penetrating through the two trolly handle’s holes and tightened up with two butterfly nuts on the outer side. I then capped off finished with two vinyl caps. Looks professional and will not fatigue any time soon. I wish I could send you a photo so you can see how tight and neat looks.

      I've seen that done too. Nice. For me, it was easier to use the cord and dowel.

  • @charleyl264
    @charleyl264 Před 4 lety

    Just a suggestion - If you tie a small loop in one end of the paracord and then thread the other end through the loop, you can cinch it up really tight and then tie off this loose end without needing the dowel for a tightener.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  Před 4 lety

      "cinching" is not always the easiest to do. With my dowel tensioner I'm certain it's much tighter than possible otherwise. But thanks for the suggestion.

    HA! I did mine incorrectly...I didn't use the washers because they were too big and just screwed it together. See? I have the mechanical aptitude of a tree sloth. Back to the bench (dining room table) eventually. No more for me this month! Thanks for the tips! :)

    A more clever design would have that handle go down to the ground to serve as a better stand. Then you have both features.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  Před 4 lety +1

      Pads are painted just like the sides (same paint). I used RUST-OLEAM 2X Ultra. The pads get flat paint and I chose black. Spray two coats and you're good.

    • @ElectricUnicycles
      @ElectricUnicycles  Před 4 lety +1

      Absolutely doable without taking it apart. I've painted a couple of wheels like that. With the Mten3 you'll just need to snap off the two center pieces, remove the pads, and remove the pedals. Then it's just a bunch of careful masking.
