It's because of the limits of the 7 speed drivetrain most are 14-28 cassette or freewheel so the 3x chainring is there for range of gears and it's also to meet a certain price point

Check with your local bike shop.
28.2 pounds equals 12,7913 kg ... which is on a heavy side. So the finals in the video are misleading with wrong numbers.
Yikes, good catch. Don't know how I converted that so wrong. Added a correction to the description.
12.7kg when you use the comma you may mislead people
Justin Hamilton Europeans use commas, but yeah, personally I’m used to decimals.
thats where your strength is supposed to kick in
Courteous C ... except the UK and ROI
Waw it's under 10kg??? Sweet!
It was error on his side. In description he said its around 12 kg and sorry for the mistake.
Why bother to put “affordable” in the title if you're not going to mention the price?
Why bother typing this comment because less time you could have googled it and gotten the price in your area.
@Jamesthebikeguy haha perfect response
my local bikeshop sells it for 420
تخيلو عندي هذا 🥺
الله يرزقك
Why a 3x ?!
Because that makes a ton of sense on this entry-level bike
Jamesthebikeguy really ?!
Cost effective would be a cheaper 1x.
TIMEFORFUN, because its cheap junk trek had in the warehouse
Ed Lester , lol! The Roscoe 8 is the best hardtail in their line up.
How much?
I need abig size?
Stop by your local Trek store
I need this 1
Two things I personally don't like about it 1st is that HORRIBLE!!! YELLOW ( I know other colours available I hope) & 2nd no front shocks Of which can make the bike heavier but, more comfortable on rough terrain. Especially through the arms & wrists.
This isnt a trail bike no need for shocks
@@Jamesthebikeguy Does it have 700c wheels NO!!!! then it cannot be a hybrid as only bicycles with such large wheels are. I have never ever
heard of anything else with smaller wheels being a hybrid bicycle. Unless things have VERY RECENTLY changed. This,is, only a, query as I haven't heard about anything ( certain specs) on the way bicycles should be apart from being strong & safe, So, anyone could be wrong including you or me on this matter. Either way I personally could care, less. It was just my own personal opinion.
