- Plane Jane being a villain is not something that's new to the franchise, but now that the season is over, do we think her cutthroat method of being unapologetically cvnt will have lasting effect on future contestants? Let me know your thoughts

like, seriously
TATSUMI?!?!?!
I hope it gives the queens the courage to not give a fuck what the “fans” say online
Love the “fans” bc that’s really what they are. They’re not fans of the show, they’re fans of certain queens.
The fans are TEENS who have NEVER been to a drag show or adults who've are casual watchers and even know anything about how drag queens interact, taking it all WAY too seriously.
Yeah, this only applies to white queens. We all know how drag race stans would reacted if a queen of colour would behave like this
Definitely feels like a much needed turning point. She has already outshone many other queens on SS16 who had much more controlled and calculated public personas.
@@Mitch-Alex teens r problematic as plane is. what turned the show and drag in general into a boring kumbaya were the political gays / girls
Honestly I’m confused as to why people act like Plane Jane is so evil and so mean when she’s just honest and likes to joke
To be fair she really WAS mean to Amanda. Like there’s no way around it that was really disrespectful, but fans always act like she committed a crime or something. I think it’s entertaining because she was obviously playing the “rude girl who has a soft spot” role and she was doing it well. Fans are just obsessed with being angry at things that don’t matter at the end of the day
@@givemethedie8464 yeah you’re right
I thought that too but rewatch the first few episodes, she was really really awful to amanda
@@nickychandler6900 i mean her makeup really is awful lol.
she just wanted to start some early drama so the contestants would be mad to her and try to compete with her making them lose focus on the competition e.g geneva karr lip syncing with her and how she was so distracted to plane that you already know she lost that lip sync lol.
It's important to notice that PJ did have the chops to back up her comments. She succeeded in most challenges, got 4 wins, lots of praise from the judges, and was only in the bottom once, right near the end of the game, and still made top 3. Things would be VERY different if she didn't bring the caliber of drag that she did.
villain of the season as if Dawn wasn’t also there lol. Dawn was a little menace😂😂😂
Dawn was more so in the confessionals and at least somewhat tamed down on screen while in the show [as in the cut we got of it] Plain was far 'worse'.
@@that1niceguy246 Honestly
Plane started off rude and ended up being charming while Dawn started off charming and ended up being annoying. I much preferred plane saying mean things right to the queens' faces vs Dawn being nice in person and saying mean things behind their back.
Dawn is more fake rather than 'villain'. Most of her reads are in the confessionals but can't volley back and forth when confronted
@@tata-yo9id to be real, plane wasn't a villain moreover she was just being real tbh, the queens just didn't accept it LOL dawn was annoying as hell.
Dawn and Q are the real villains😊
The difference between her and many villains was that she was also really good in the challenges.
and that she is white
Jaremi and Roxxxy were both better villains who excelled at the challenges and made it to top 3. Pearl was a cuter white boy who made it to top 3. Plane Jane did nothing that hasn't been done before.
@@inlovewithJLTshe isn't that mean. Y'all remember when Yara deadass asked Stacey if she was trans out of nowhere. Or people need to watch/rewatch the heathers vs boogers. You really wonder who the real villains were.
@@MakuraZalis I mean, yeah, that's what I said. She hasn't pushed the envelope in any way.
@@inlovewithJLT and that's why Derrick doesn't like you
if you think plane wasn't the main character of s16, you're not watching the show. I think having a character that is openly shady succeed and gather so much support (not inicially, but as the season went on and ppl stared to understand her/get used to her) can do wonders for drag race in the future. We really need contestants to be as fearless and unashamed as her again 🙏🙏🙏
I usually just watch the runways and I still knew she's the moment
She is the most self aware contestant to be the villain. Not like other queens that are messy and conflictive because the competition bring the worst of them, Plane did all the comments without being mad or resentful, only for fun, to stir the pot and see the other queens reaction. And it so good to watch.
She was honest with other people and with HERSELF. That's the key to bring crass yet likeable. No self deluded nonsense.
Why is my tax collector in this short? Lmao 😂
Plane outta drag is making my ovaries rattle like a chainsaw
you are done.
You don't need much, do you?
Aw little maracas
No
@@fantomaorgasma5906 I dont!
She made the season entertaining and fun. I loved it
I personally think we need more luxx, Mistress, and PJ energy. They make it a watchable show. (I personally want more mistress energy because it felt a bit more comedic imo but I'm happy with any "villainy")
This is my holy trinity of the latest seasons. I loved them all so much
all of my favorites for a reason!! lmao
i didn't really like Mistress or Luxx, but i somehow love Plane. maybe it's because i'm more drawn to her drag but i can't really tell. i don't know it just really seemed like she was more human to me than Luxx and Mistress. but then again i have a goldfish's memory so i don't really remember s15.
Mistress is very much Bianca sort of level of shady. I'd say Mistress, Bianca and Daya are my favourites in that area Luxx and PJ I'm not so sold on still
@@niko12805usually it’s racism but go off sis
Hey that's The banker who didn't approve my loans. 😭
Mama, kudos. Thank you for bringing back reality TV drama on drag race, for producing.
Kandy is shaking
@@that1niceguy246 Kandy had one untucked fight and thinks she’s a villain
@@Toshiboyai Sir please stop or she's gonna need an ambulace over here.
She’s an icon, and she deserves respect lol
The LinkedIn profile pic always does it for me 😂
I feel like she just really understood the format of the show and was able to execute every challenge well because of that. She's not the first to do so but it's still impressive and worth pointing out.
As though PhiPhi O'hara isn't right over there watching you from her top three position, lol.
That said, I appreciate she didn't concern herself with the edit, but people out here saying she was spouting "true facts" but some of it was unprompted and mean.
I hope her run encourages more people ready to come in to make good tv and not care about the fans
They need to back it up with good performances on the challengers too or else there’s no substance to their upper lip.
Plain was a solid queen that’s why she was top three
It's not the first time we've seen a "villian" make it to the top either though (Violet Chachki), but in this case Plane is much more likeable, I'd say, because she has more tact with her villainess.
Violet edit was similar to Raja. They both were fashion, both were cunts (Raja was worse cause she would gang up and constantly belittle her competitors) and both won.
yes!
Violet wasnt a Villian. She was a brat but the villian edit went to Ginger and Kennedy
@@leohcarrillo2981 In the beginning, she was. The closet winner that was a villain like Violet was Yvie Oddly.
@@ntt6028 Raja was literally worse than them. She would make fun and bully other contestants and was in the heathers gang. Also is everyone forgetting Tyra, she was a complete b!tch also. Violet compared to them is the nice. She was just an entitled brat but she never was like verbally attacking people. Is was more she just complained and didn’t really like everyone.
I hope it inspire these new queens of season 17 to just go off and have fun, Kiki and cut up like drag queens, make great TV and deliver iconic performances. That's what Plane did
I just wonder how the fandom would have reacted if Plane wasn't white and hot out of drag 🤔
u r the reason drag is boringly politically correct
Believe it or not she was hated until Amanda left the show, not just fans but Rpdr alumnis too. But out of all straight passing gays that competed like pearl, milk or violet, she's the only one who walk the talk, like a queen that excels in Improv and fashion? Even Saphirra a veteran black queen is impressed by her
@@bobovieri1985 pls none of them r straight passing, they're just "attractive" and violet not really
Straight passing Plane Jane jumpscare
She will win in the long run if she plays her cards right..She wasn't a villain, but a shrewd entertainer that made it fun again.. No more nicey nicey worried about fan backlash..
Unpopular opinion but I think she got a "pass" on her drama because he is cute out of drag.
I know its late but you should have added in the clip of the Roxxxy Andrews asking who is the Plane Jane
Plane was not even a villain. She was being honest and it wasn't done with the intention to put others down.
I was rooting for Plane and Sapphira from their intro looks and confessionals.
They both delivered and Plane is a persona that I adore to an unhealthy degree.
If you think her attacks on Amanda were not intended to put her down you are truly deluded
Nah she was pretty vile to Amanda unprovoked too. Calling her drag ugly and saying she has no respect for her was villain behavior.
While I have a great deal of respect for her drag talent I have zero respect for anyone who mistreats another contestant completely unprovoked
I mean she didn't lie tho..
@@bobovieri1985at some point she's gotta realise that Amanda heard her though, like telling someone they're shit at makeup isn't magically gonna make them good at makeup
She wasn’t the villain she spoke fax, sometimes true hurts, and there was a lot of busted queens on that season so I don’t know why everyone’s hating on her when she only spoke nothing but the truth
I know where are the lies?? If anything production did Amanda dirty AF bringing her in so unpolished with girls like nymphia to compete against. If Amanda was on rajas season she would have been labeled queen of the boogers
You can speak nothing but the truth and be a bitch because nobody wants to hear it though. Time and a place.
Best example is that sometimes she'd say shitty things about Amanda who hadn't been there for a few episodes and it's like... she's not here, she hasn't been mentioned, why are you being so rude about this queen that was only here for a few episodes?
Mama kudos for posting this video. For educating.
At first, I didn’t like PJ but I still enjoyed her villain behavior because it was scandalous and hilarious. Even though I grew to like her, I knew she wouldn’t win. I am honestly surprised she made it to the finale. Remember, she won the Rate a Queen episode because she was conniving and a liar. 😂
Plane was a breath of fresh air, tbh one of my faves of the entire season.
Plane is so handsome out of drag.
Plain Jane is liked for being outspoken n having sharp wit n a biting tongue..it works for tv but in real life i hardly think that any of those PJ stans would enjoy working w her, dating her, hanging out with her if she constantly read u for filth 24/7...lol
The thing is in real life she can just as well be different. Plus I personally would not mind friends that read you, because if you're friends with someone or partners with someone, you can take it and dish it.
Plane Jane is a drag persona. This fandom needs to learn to separate a queen's drag persona from their out of drag personality. I doubt plane is mean "24/7" outside of drag when she's being booked left and right and all the queens from the season seem to be chill with her, esp nymphia, mirage and xunami.
They would never give her the crown. They only kept her around for the drama anyway.
Honestly she earned her spot in that top 3 though, it's still reality TV, we NEED someone who is at the very least shady to keep around until the end.
Plane Jane is my new Dragrace fav!! I adore her! ❤️
kudos for uploading sister, for spilling 🤭
We got tons before : Silky, Kandy, Daya, Mistress and now Plane
Every season since season 11
right, but all these queens were met with a LOT of hate (certainly influenced by racism most of the time), but i think plane's gradative positive reception is where she rly impacted the show, bc it allows queens to not be as self conscious in the future
Season 7 Violet was somewhat a villain maybe Pearl? Season 6 Bianca is a insult comic, Season 5 Roxxxy quite a few have made it in fact, as i type im thinking of more!
I feel like some girls from the earlier seasons as jujubee or raven were giving very much that energy not necessarily villain but even if they were it was funny and made good tv I feel the same with plane
I still don't get how Daya is considered a villain lol
I love her since day one❤
Being villain has been normalized and we are here for it. I wanna see drama in drag race
Jane knows how to do reality tv for sure!!!!
I feel like this plane discussion and love is seriously not acknowledging this is a direct result of Luxx and Mistress doing the same thing the season before but getting death drops and their account suspended
I need more Daya, Luxx, Mistress and PJ type of queens!!
S16 was one if not the best season that I've ever watched. After so many seasons I was not interested in this one but all changed after seeing this cast. She , nymphia and saphira were so fun to see. Even she that was mean to be the "villain" was so entertaining and serving every episode
I got her character right from the jump! The dry delivery and the pot stiring i always felt was done in a very clever way and even when reading the other queens it was never done explosively or too reactionally. She knew exactly when to stop stiring the pot and what lines not to cross while still giving a blunt opinion and being shady. To me, i felt she was very intelligent with how she portrayed herself this season.
She definitely made this season.
Plane Jane gave in the dressing room cutting up with your sisters. truly was so refreshing to see someone not care and then really not care once the season aired. kudos mamas, for giving television
She’s making big impact for the future of Drag Race, past couple of years queens scared to be themselves and play “nice” aka “boring” and seasons starts to blend in and we’re almost forgot about 90% of the past seasons, but we’re gonna remember s16 for sure, thanks to Plane Jane!
Mama, kudos to you for showing up to work. For clocking in.
She is the real winner
Plane Jane gets how to play the game! She makes great television and rarely disappointed in the runways or challenges. Is it a bit derivative (ie Katya, Jimbo, and Baga Chips respectively)? Yes. But PJ knows how to make Ru laugh (remember when mama Ru couldn't breathe after hearing the name Lazi Susan from laughing so hard?) Was I particularly fond of how she treated other queens, no but it made great television. And I'm ok with that.
She is both beautiful and handsome
Maybe it's just me, but I saw that thumbnail and thought it was MatPat from that pic. But that's just a theory...
I missed someone like Plane or like Dawn… haven’t watch a season sooo entertaining like this since season 6!! Kudos for Plane, Dawn, and all the shady queens in the world !
I hope she come back and be villian again wahaha
Hope she gets a good All Stars Run with the runback with Amanda if you catch my drift.
I guess it depends on what you watch Drag Race for. If you watch it for mess, drama, and stunting for more TV time then you enjoyed her and her impact. 🤷🏽♀️
Girl go and watch pepa pig then
yeah… it’s a gay reality tv show. that’s the point
Drama? On a REALITY SHOW? How dare Plane Jane do that??
except plane also did excepcional in the challenges so she clearly had more to contribute to the show other than just drama 🥴🥴🥴
Omg that portrait
Uphold what 'character'? She was so authentic fr
She gave drama so I'm not mad.
I hope not everyone behaves like that tho , season 16 was great not only because of Plane but the mutual chemistry the cast had. And Plane knows when to be the villain and when to play the part otherwise, she's well spoken and incredibly smart , so i hope season 17 doesn't get eclipesed like season 7 after season 6 , i hope they bring even more unique fellas with mature but shady personalities who can create amazing chemistry among themselves
Hated her at the beginning of the season and absolutely love her at the end of the season 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Plane is kayfabe mean. And I’m here for it.
Don’t mess with my Burger Finger
Mistress Isabelle Brooks will always be my favorite villain queen.
I will not stand for this Mistress erasure.
I hated her at first but I ended up loving her at the end!
Plane is so dreamy
Plane was never a villain to me anyways. She basically said what everyone was most likely thinking, but trying to be nice instead of honest lol honestly she could’ve been way meaner about it and other queens before her have been 😂😂😂 people also need to learn how to tell when she’s joking and just being shady for fun, cuz that’s clearly what she was doing, but everyone took her super seriously.
I think mistress and Luxx def helped paved the way for this type of behavior being accepted. I think all 3 came in knowing what archetype they were gonna play, and how to make sure their storylines got them to the end.
I believe she the winner....
While I didn't really like her at first it turned around quick. I still think her being harsh on Amanda was a bit much but she really deserved one of the top spots without a doubt. I understand her reads on Amanda I just wish she wouldn't have gone about it the way she did. It's the like the Plane Jane from the first few episodes is a completely different person haha.
Plane Jane can throw shade since she also SERVESSSS everything, she is a star, but not full of gas.
The fact we’ve been getting boring seasons cause queens are scared of getting cancelled (kinda rightfully Id say) was so boring to me. But plane being messy and sassy made the season much more interesting. And I loved that she was also delivering so we could see that her behavior was not trying to mask insecurities. i also don’t think she was a bully nor that she did too much… she’s a drag queen not miss univese
Plain is what Violet Chachki was just reformed. Only difference Plain cares less about what the fans think. She knows she’s damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t.
Remembers season 2 where the big villain took home the crown. Not sure what PJ placing 3rd says about Tyra and even Raja (the heathers)
whatever about her behavior, plane got to the finale because her drag is good, not because she was shady
Plane Jane was RE FRE SHING and brought back real essence of first seasons of RPDR before fandom got puritan moaners over a TV show
Thanks for spilling.
Why do people keep saying "it's a character she made up for herself" she's a toxic bully. Whenever she's insecure she projects onto someone else. Classic bully. I can't for the life.of me understand why people like her. He drag is also very unoriginal. She's a mix of Jimbo, Kameron Michaels, and Brooklyn Heights. Everything she did I've seen before on better less toxic queens.
He's a handsome man 😍
She kinda did back track though. She was going in on people more frequently in the beginning and maybe she was just tired but she really tapered back halfway through the season and didn’t speak on things AS much as before.
ran into her irl multiple times as a bostonian and i can confirm that it’s not really a character she kinda just acts like that
Mistress walked so Plane could run 🤷🏻♂️
I feel that Plane succeded in making great television and leaving an impact on the season, and while personally I would've given her Snatch Game win to Sapphira (she did well, just preferred Sapphira), she played the game and earned her spot in the finale overall.
That said, out of the three finalists, I just couldn't resonate and truly connect with Plane outside of her exterior crumbling a bit. I also feel her performance in the Top 4 really shot herself in the foot (yes, Plane was "prompted" to be shady towards the other queens, but I felt we could've learned a bit more about HER).
Ultimately, I'm not saying Plane needed to meet a prerequisite of soup kitchen hours to get the crown, but for me her winning wouldn't had been as "fulfilling" as Nymphia or Sapphira. As for future contestants who may take her lead via her impact, it could be a hit or miss as Plane had the chops to back it up.
Raja and Manila made it ,Roxxxy made it, phi phi, Bianca made it, Violet made it ginger minj, Naomi Made it, so many
❤🎉amazing job 🎉❤
I think what it encourages is for queens in the future to open up more, in the final challange she was the only one who kept up her character and didnt show her true perdonality which in the end made me bored of her. She lacks depth
At the end of it all, if your drag is good, people will like it
The impact mistress already had
Plan fully looking like a HOI 4 character
Are we forgetting LNL and MIB from S15?
I prefer Plane than Mistress
I really wish she won. I think she screwed up that book challenge. She should have played the game and then won the challenge and then turned into a total monster again after. I think Saphira actually won that challenge but they gave it to Nymphia to make her seem credible for a top three and later top two. Also of course they want Plane Jane back for All Stars.
Jane is one of my most recent favorites. I have a feeling I’ll follow her career more than any other queen this season
The entire Boston community knows this is not a character
I will say the way she treated amanda felt like straight up high school bullying and it was not fun to watch
PJ is so FINE out of Drag! My goodness, he floods my basement!
Any who, now that I'm dry again, I hope this gives the Queens courage to just be themselves and to not care what the fandom says or how they'll react.
NONE. NO IMPACT!
