Amazing video❤❤
Never knew these were assembled. Cause once done it doesn't really look like precession worked iron.
Nice! Keep up the nice work.
Very impressive indeed!
The video is just amazing, but the comment about putin deserves all my love! You are amazing~! Hi from a Ukrainian Floating Wind Engineer in Taiwan.
Amazing gaint buckels manufacturers
Even individual parts are so heavy, lifting aid is required.... the finished parts are massive, strong, durable, and amazing.
Putin is King 🤴
I never knew they came apart like that lol. Thats cool.
They don't all come apart, what you are used to seeing probably didn't come apart, these are special for connecting chains together or attaching an anchor.
Exelente video 👍
Good job
I would love if one these just showed up in the mail. Dropped off on my porch. One those scams where they send you a freebie then make a certified purchase account to make a great review of the object they send. This would be awesome. I would look at this thing every day. The beauty and craftsmanship that went in to it. The thoughtful engineering that went into it to make it fit perfectly, the struggling mail man carrying this in his mail bag to bring me my link. I know I am just dreaming but I would love one of these to admire. Its like looking at jewelry closeup as an ant.
Solid round! My favorite 🙄😒🙄
Nice to see the PPE.
Now that's a chain link
Very useful and innovative Excellent Greeting from Indonesian traditional gold prospecting 🇮🇩🌼🙏👍👍
Excelente video..!!
Quá tuyệt vời 👍👍 Đúng là công nghệ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏👏
I znowu chiny
A real eye opener. Thanks
Too much left unexplained! What happened to the flashing after the forging happer? What was the hole drilled into it for? How did the links become a 'chain'?
These are lugless joining shackles.
The block that sits between the sides of the assembled link has a hole through it at an angle, and a steel taper-pin locks that block in place to keep the machined shackle halves together. The hole we see being drilled is oversized compared to the taper pin, because the pin goes in and is then locked in by a lead plug hammered into the larger hole on the side of the shackle.
The shackle will have that large hole on one side - for the lead plug, and a small hole on the opposite side. The taper-pin is hammered out by a punch inserted into the smaller hole. The larger U-shaped shackles we see suggest these are buoy link shackles, although they could also be for attaching anchors or for buttoning to trot moorings.
An anchor cable has multiples of these joining shackles, each one joins a length of chain, ironically called a 'shackle.'
One shackle of cable is 15 fathoms or 90 feet long.
Lugged shackles are the common links that are forged, bent into shape through the next link and welded closed, then the middle lug is welded in place.
Like I SAID! It wasn't explained or shown...
Different people, different tone skin, maybe different religions, but all forge workers have the serious face on with red hot metal.

These are Kenter shackles, not Kent buckles.
Indeed you are correct!
5:05 Really love the caption, they seems to like Putin very much, they even want to work with him.
How thick is that Floor, to withstand All that weight?🤔😯

Anyone know what alloy they use? 4140? 4340? 1045? 440A?
High-strength steel probably G70/G80/G100 - There are various grades: G43, G63, G70, G80, G80, G100. "The steel is typically alloyed with other metals such as manganese, chromium, and nickel to increase its strength and durability." CM490 / CM690 / AISI 4140/4130/1018/1020/1045 / Q235B, Q345b, Ss400, Ck45, 4140, 42CrMo.
For high-tensile 4140 most likely, probably induction hardened, possibly carburized or some other surface treatment for marine salt-water use.
These parts are forged components, the rest of the chain is probably cast.
@@VenturiLife thank you. I was definitely not expecting that comprehensive of an answer. Great info, thanks again.
How much $ for one of those complete links? All 3 parts? I am gonna guess over 1000$ USD
It wouldn't surprise me if they were $5000 each.

this place looks ancient. drilling with no coolant? what was the point of that drilling? i have never seen ship chain that is multiple pieces like this
Yeah I was surprised about that as well
That is because you don't understand the first thing about it...but you sound like a little kid talking!
Nearly every decent si zedship on the oceans with a stud link anchor chain will have Kenter Shackles like this to join the standard lengths of chain together. The drilled hole is to receive a lead plug which holds in a tapered pin. Not shown in this video though. The tapered pin will pass right through the shackle to hold the stud in place.
Fascinating, but we will regret this waste of energy one day

Did nobody tell them chains need to be links joined together? 🙄
If only you could understand...This is the link like a master link that links the shots of chain...
@@stevebell4906 I was kidding, I thought it was funny they never actually showed 2 of those being connected together.
@@Slash1066 Sorry sarcasm is hard to see...This is a new or improved version of the traditional ones which had more pieces and opened on only one side...These look stronger. But I have never seen a broken one ever...
@@stevebell4906 Just my dry British humour! They are amazing, never seen links made like this before
@@Slash1066 neither had I the ones I always have seen (Last time about 60 years ago) were very different.when opened were more like a letter "C" with the stud in the center of that C like in a capitol E all three of the open ends had a cut away like mushroom on their ends ....The shots of chain would both be hooked onto the C ends and two smaller pieces would be placed over the ends of the three open actions of the master link like a clam shell and a taper pin driven in with a sledge and a piece of rolled sheet led then hammered in on top of the taper pin....
It may be possible to find a video of the old type being made up?...or at least a series of stills in progression?
This new type looks to be forged and machined and locked with a in and lead plug it looks to be stronger ...But I never heard of the old style breaking, only chains breaking?

@@grandpabill6684 Having both worked in a shipyard and sailed I can say that this chain would have to meet specifications for several reasons...First the ship and cargo are very valuable and insured ...and the seaworthiness of it are important to a lot of wealthy people ...That in itself would mean that a catastrophic failure of an anchor will involve massive ligation...As always happens...So unlike when we watch a video of guys repairing a truck in Pakistan...
In addition this is a massive modern factory...No one is going to take delivery of products or components without testing and certification...This is very different of the old days when a rusty old ship might sail and if it survived one voyage it might pay for itself...And the captain might be the sole owner...and the mixed crew might never get paid..

Putin is a very bad man.
They missed a very important step which Harding the metal after it has been machined after all this it needs to be all heated ( moderate red) so it's not brittle and then dipped in oil no need for that silly paint bath they had all the steps right but missing a few this makes their product low quality I rate it as 65% if they add the other 2 steps they are missing then - also it pin needs to be tapered to hold better so they need a special tapered drill to do it and they did not show assembly and disassembly ???????
Those are forged, the heat treat is done at the same time.
The "paint" they are using is asphalt based, so it's like a bath of really heavy oils.
Yeah, they missed showing the drilling of the tapered pin that holds it together.
