When Hurts dropped back and had all the time in the world the Niners D line was just standing the O line up and not really pursuing the QB. What I think the D line was doing was watching Hurts which didn't allow him to run. That was great defense.
Yup. they knew that flushing him out would make him very dangerous, so they held up a little bit. It was great!

I knew the game momentum was going to swing after the Eagle's first punt. And that is, in fact, what happened. It was like a divine premonition.
As a 49ers fan, what I loved the most was the sight of the Eagle's stands emptied out halfway through the fourth quarter, with mostly red jerseys remaining.

Deebo was GREAT last night, but it wasn't just him! It was the genius of Shanahan scheming that play to occupy all those defenders AND it was tight ends and receivers blocking their asses off all the way to the goal line. This is what team play looks like. Bill Walsh would be proud!

Actually the eagles did a great job holding their dline. Lane basically owned Bosa. Eagles offense really missed goedert because Smith/Brown were LOCKED. Hurts held the ball waiting patiently behind is oline and nothing was there. Shanahan is an elite coach and his game plan worked flawlessly. Niners stomped them. His game plan was to target Morrow, one of the worst coverage LBs in the league. Fornutely the Eagles addressed that issue today by signing Shaq Leonard who is a shell of himself but is ranked 5th in coverage. Which is miles better than what they have. Middle of the field will continue to be an issue moving forward but a well rested Eagles team looks a lot differently than one coming off Dal, Miami, KC, Buf

@@Slo_Moses I have accepted it. that loss wasnt even painful. Looking at a schedule of KC, Buf, Dallas, Miami and losing once feels like an enormous win. I didnt think theyd go 16-1 lol. Score twice on SF and they're lost. Kick twice and they won i accepted that reality pretty quickly and by half knew it was a wash. 5 games left in the season its not like this was a NFC championship game. Congrats to the Niners.

I was very impressed that the 49ers STOPPED the 1st tush push in that 3rd quarter Eagles TD. They had to run the Brotherly Shove twice, and won on the 2nd attempt. I think that's the only time I've seen the Brotherly Shove fail - that 1st time. After that, later in the game, the Eagles never attempted it again when they needed 2 or more yards. Other times during the season I think they were routinely doing it at 3 yards for other teams.
It was Brock Purdy who extends play and makes things happen . Also give WILKES credit for a great scheming .

The Eagles not only miss Shane Steichen but also TJ Edwards, CJGC, Isaac Seamalo and Javon Hargrave. You know the Hargrave the 49ers picked up. The 49ers roster is by far the best in football hands down. Everyone acting like this is some sort of surprise is just doing it for effect. When you don’t have to pay a QB you can build the best roster money can buy. The Eagles are a good team but they aren’t great and they def aren’t close to the team they were last year.

From my perspective, as a Seahawks fan, before this season, I would have said Andy Reid was the greatest playcaller and coach in the game- with only shannahan in his class. I see this as shannahan taking over that mantle. He’s sniffed it before multiple times. Being blessed with the QB from his wildest fantasies, he will leave no doubt this season. Come on Hawks, make them work for it next week!

The only reason why the Eagles were able to protect Hurts was that their RT commited a false start AND a holding against Bosa on every down, and it was only called once in the entire game.

I was gonna say, if all is healthy the ravens the only ones that look close based on how they handled lions and then the seashawks Etc. All of the close games and losses came down to questionable calls and anomalies in performance from certain players.
Plus the offense has been limiting itself. Lamar has sat out quarters. They keep not letting Keaton Mitchell get the ball, etc.

Though the Eagles o-line is amazing, that's not exactly why Hurts had that much time. The Niners d-line understands that if they pin their ears back and get overly aggressive, he can escape the pocket and cause a lot of damage. Notice that they weren't getting to him but they had him surrounded most of the time. They were being disciplined in their gaps and essentially forcing him to throw from the pocket. That's not his game. Worked like a charm.
I agree with the analysis of the game plan. However, the fact that Hurts couldn't find an open receiver was my point. The coverage was outstanding but I haven't heard or read any of the sports talking heads give the coverage the props they're due.

The best team in the NFL is the 49ers as the power rankings to be revealed from the NFL tomorrow after tonight game. The 49ers are at full strength by outscoring their opponents by huge margin in dominant fashion with 4 straight convincing victories. Playoffs are pretty much has begun in week 14 as the Niners are fired on all cylinders in December.
Now, PHI game was far behind in rear view mirror as the next game vs SEA is the most important to SF. The divisional game counts as two games for the NFC West title which SF wants to claim the throne in week 14, plus home field advantage throughout playoffs as the top seed in the NFC if DAL wins over PHI on this Sunday night at home.

The 49ers are ranked #1 in offense and #1 in defense....you dont see many teams achieve that. They are stacked to the nines....they got Deebo, CMC, Bosa, Kittle, Chase Young, Trent Williams, Fred Warner, Aiyuk, Kyle Juschek.....WTF. Thats like 10 All Pros on the roster. How you get that many when some teams only have like 1-2. They better blow out everybody or its a lost cause.
It’s impressive how physical the niners are but can they stay healthy that way. Shanahan doesn’t seem to understand how to keep his qb , or any of his stars for that matter, healthy. Yeah it’s a tough game but you don’t have to run Macaffery into the ground after games are essentially over. Also, don’t freaking use backup tightends to block game wrecking pass rushers. I don't know that the Eagles have been bullies in the other games as the margins of victory haven't been very high in most wins but they usually found a way to win in the 2nd half. None of that applied in this game. Niners now have a QB who can rise to the occasion, in the past we had to play around Garoppolo's abilities, not now.

Just a NFL fan: 49ers went to the Eagles house, snatched their lunch money laughed while doing it.
Man they talkin crazy, Like the Eagles can’t learn from yesterday and become motivated and hungry just like the 9’ers this past game. I know it was a bad jawn for us yesterday and the 9’ers are a fantastic team all around; but they’re acting like Philly don’t have balls or something like we’re super sweet and sugary! They were tired it’s no excuse but c’mon when we see em in the playoffs anything can happen 49’ers know that better than anyone!
It’s kinda of strange when the NFC teams go out to Baltimore to play the ravens. They aren’t use to seeing the Ravens and Lamar Jackson offense and he’s so dam unique that the teams have no idea how to stop or contain it. You see a lot of NFC teams getting blown out in Baltimore because of it. If the Ravens beat the 49ers end of the month don’t think to much about it. The NFC teams just aren’t use to Lamar Jackson.
Last time they met it was a walk-off FG for Baltimore. This time, niners are home.
Niners dominated up front and on both sides of the ball. They got the nerves out after those first 2 drives. Fundamentally, the didn’t turn it over and they tackled well for the most part. Philly didn’t tackle….that was atrocious on their part.
Eagles fans saying we lost 3 straight to Browns, Minnesota, and Bengals. We did, but look at the kind of losses they were. Purdy got the Niners into position in Cleveland…missed field goal. In Minnesota, DC makes a terrible call to zero blitz at the end of the half and Ward lets a rookie take it to the house. He intercepts that ball of tackles him…Niners win. Bengals did dominate the Niners. Healthy Joe Burrow is lethal and the D got gutted…much like Philly did against the Niners. I know their record says 10-2, but Philly could easily be 8-4 but dropped balls and some questionable calls against KC and Buffalo led to Philly winning. That’s the way things went. It’s hard to keep winning like that. It’s a great win but the playoffs is what matters. I like this team and believe in them. Stay focused, healthy and take it one week at a time
I find it funny that when niners had to travel to Seattle on Thanksgiving it was a short week into Thanksgiving into Seattle and we spanked them and no one said nothing. Now we traveled to Philadelphia and spank them and now all of a sudden it's because they were too tired because they had too many snaps. Hilarious
