Not surprised by this at all. Richard Sherman predicted on Tuesday that this could be a blowout. We knew that if Purdy was on, that he would rain fire on the Eagles and that’s exactly what happened. Eagles are staggered. They are likely to lose next week as well.

Every weakness came out today. Getting beat is one thing, but this wasn't just getting beat. We allowed ourselves to get duped by miraculous comebacks. There is no way you are getting to an NFC title game with this defense. Howie simply refuses to draft linebackers and safeties. Their cornerbacks look to be 100 years old. You might be able to overcome those things if your offense is prolific. They are not prolific. They do not have the playcalling to be prolific. The media keeps telling the fans how good Brian Johnson is. We aren't idiots. He isn't good. It takes him a half just to figure out anything. It's one of the least imaginative offenses in football. And forget about the defense. The coordinator isn't great, but to be fair, he has little to work with. Who cares if you have a strong line if no one can cover in the back end? Just an embarrassment. Basically, the Niners have been crowing and calling you garbage for a year, and you shrunk like little tulips. Where the hell was their pride? And I don't respect Dallas even a little, but the Eagles never sweep those guys, and there is no way you are going into Texas stadium with this defense and beating that team. If they lose the division, it will be one of the biggest collapses in Philly sports, and we have a lot of those collapses to choose from.

Order restored. Philly had a nice season last year. The 49ers have been primed to win a superbowl for 4 seasons now. But finally have an MVP caliber QB to get it done. Don’t be too discouraged Philly fans. Every team has a come to Jesus moment after they play a healthy 49ers team.
Niner fan here. That first quarter scared me…it started to feel like last year’s playoff game. I wouldn’t put too much into the win or the loss. Eagles played 3 games in 13 days and we were on an extra 3 days of rest. That’s a factor you can’t dismiss. I’m sure we’ll see each other in the Championship game and it’ll feel like the best of three. Eagles kicked the Niners in the teeth last year and we did it today. Next game is the tie-breaker.

The 49ers are hands down the best team in the NFL, both offensively and defensively, and are the most physical team as well. Only reason we lost in the NFC championship game last year was because we lost our quarterback, when healthy nobody can stop them, deebo, cmc, kittle, aiyuk are almost impossible to defend as they are a match up nightmare, do you want to double up Vevo then that leaves somebody else open etc. With the ball in the hands, Cmc, deebo and kittle will flat out run you over. And the regular season high flying passing offices win games but in the playoffs got to be able to run the football and be physical and the Niners are the very best at it

Rueben is right----the 9ers worked the middle of the field against the Eagles' LB's who were lost in coverage. Then the 9ers expanded the field.
Every team we played this year so far had run the same 2-3 plays against us in the middle of the field. Yet we never stop it. They use different players to run the same routes and we still sit there worried about the big play when we get dinked and dunked to the middle of the field to death every week.

The Eagles had been pulling out victories for the past several weeks. San Francisco was hitting on all cylinders tonight; they were totally in sync with a healthy defense , if SF stays healthy they will be hard to beat. He's not a TUA type QB that was evident at Alabama. Tua's problem though if his 1st target is covered he has difficulty picking up his next reads. However if his 1st target IS there he's quicker at hitting them than anybody in the league. He's not a big, tough guy like Josh Allen or Mahomes. Gotta watch Mahomes because the Chiefs are starting to play when it counts the most.
The 9ers did a good job of forcing Hurts to be a pocket passer. I don't think he ran more than 20 yds.

embarrassing. I agree with these guys. This is EXACTLY where the Eagles are. We knew it all along. I give them credit for saving all the previous games, but they finally played a team that was well coached, executed well, and made no mistakes.
Eagles are a veteran team that seem to be wearing down as the season nears completion. The thing I'm concerned with is that SF, Dallas, and certainly Detroit are all more physical than the Eagles are. Eagles must get the Number 1 cede for the playoffs.

This is what plenty of us said was coming based on how the Eagles have played and been coached this season. We have too many holes on defense that can't be addressed by defensive strategies and schemes (assuming our coaches would call the correct ones). And we have an offensive "brain trust" that is more "brain dead" when it comes to gameplanning. We were against a suspect run defense and chose to avoid running the ball. An effective run game can set up the at times moronic pass game these coaches seek to use. A healthy 49ers team has more talent and better coaching than the Eagles and will beat us every time we play them. Dallas will likely do the same next week, but I think we're closer/on par with the Cowboys. It's clear defense will need to be the focus in the offseason, but we have a lot of holes to fill - the 49ers have built a pretty good defense and we're way behind them at LB and in the secondary. We deserved to lose this game because of the inability to learn from all the mistakes we've been making (too much "the bottom line is winning" crap). This team won't make the Super Bowl unless they (and a lot of this is on the coaches) clean up a lot of stuff and the 49ers don't stay healthy (the Birds are playing with several starters still out).

Analyst are overlooking the obvious. The OCs didn't do their homework. They were not prepared and neither side understood how the Niners were playing them. Add in Jalen throwing a deep pass on 2nd and 8 with 8 minutes in the 2nd quarter was proof that he really wasn't respecting their defense at all.

I’m a SF fan, and outside of playing each other, I can’t help but enjoy the hell out of Hurts and a few other players on the Eagles. But honest question, and I was surprised, why the hell weren’t they having Jalen run a bit more? I’ve noticed that he definitely isn’t as much as last year. But especially not today. Is it because of his knee injury earlier this year you think? Or change in OC? Just a genuine question. Was glad to see that he was able to come back in the game and not seriously hurt.

This reminded me of the game against the saints in 2018; it was 48-7. Not as much talking before that game, but I kind of wanted to get back at the saints because of 2013-2014 and the comments that they would have beaten us in NFC game the year before if they played. However, that was in New Orleans. Then the eagles after that destruction the eagles won 5 of 6 and the only loss: in OT in Dallas. Hopefully, this motivates them.

I have been saying this all season. The Eagles are a weak 10-1. The problem is Sirianni and coaching staff. They cannot call a good game and get out coached.
I see them losing to Dallas and Seattle. Final record 13 - 4. They will lose in the second round of the playoffs.

Disagree with Jaws. Yes, the Defense sucked today but the problem overall is the offense and the offensive play calling. The Eagles are terrible in the red zone unless it's 4th and goal. No more slant passes. Enough. The Eagles needed this loss. Jalen won't let it happen again.
