Great inspiration this week! 💜💜Thank you guys!
Aww....you are welcome. Thank so much for watching 🙂
I like that you identified the different clay types. Do you have a video about the differences in using porcelain vs stoneware? Thank you
Yes, we have a stoneware vs porcelain video
Are there any issues with the shrinkage differences between the two types of clay when using them in these types of applications?
Hey Vicki. Those two clays have pretty close shrinkage rates. They are not exact, but when they are rolled together like that, the differences in their shrinkage rates doesnt seem to make a difference. Just. make sure either they are really rolled well together or connected well together in some way. Good question.
Hi,teacher!
good lesson as always
HI Zena. NIce to meet you. Thanks so much. Im glad you like it.
Cool! This looks like so much fun!!
Hi Chris! We did have a lot of fun making these even though I am not a fan of measuring things, haha. Jim did all of the measuring thank goodness and the best part is that we are providing free templates for you so you dont have to measure either 🙂
Very interesting. Were you at all concerned about the layers of the pieces holding together? I would be worried about all the layers separating during bisquing. Is that what the two bats and the weight were for, to make sure the layers adhered? I'm really thinking of trying this. Thanks for the wonderful ideas.
Hi Don. I was worried, but I have found that gently pressing the bat down on the pieces will help stick them together and then drying it with a weight on top as it shrinks and dries seems to keep the layers together. Give it a try and see what you think... Im glad you liked the projects 🙂 Thanks for watching.
@@annruel1982 Thanks Ann. It is on e my to do list to try. Looks exciting
@@donedwards5301 Awesome Don!! Give it a go. I wish there was a section where people could share their work with us, too.
Beautiful work! I've been experimenting with red/brown and white clay pieces as well. Letting the clay shine through like with these pieces is so warm-feeling. ❤
Hey Em! Aww...thanks so much. Im glad you like them 🙂. There are so many mays to play with the different colored clays, right.
You are just so interesting thanks for inspiration😊

What is the clay you are using for the triangle bowl?
Hi JL, I am using Standard brand English Porcelain. It is a very smooth fine clay with no grog. Thanks for watching.
What sizes did you cut the triangle templates? What were the differences between each triangle?
see the link to the templates - sizes are marked. Thanks,
I got my title! Senior Director of Peephole Sizing…. Bahaha 🤣
