Hallo Jamie B. That´s not right. It was a policeman, Titel "Hauptkommissar" (chief-inspector?), at this time the police-chief of the city of Brühl and made his job for the town-government. At later races there was the major of Brühl giving the gratulation to the winners. I think, at the first race, the major had his breakfast - lol ;-)
This was the beginning for me, I started at 13 years old on a 200cc Triumph cub. Those were the days!!!!
