When working on thin stuff at lower amperages, if PSI is too high it might start sputtering because the air is blowing out the arc. Lower the PSI or up the Amperage. :)
BTW if you ever scratch it - Rustoleum (St Tropez) is a pretty close color match for the cover.

nice video…I am considering buying one…but am concerned sbout compressor. what size, CFM do you use? Thankyou
This plasma cutter uses very little air volume (Meaning CFM), so any compressor will work. Obviously, if you have a very small tank, like a 5 gallon, you'll only be able to cut for like 20-30 seconds before the compressor kicks back on. But 30 seconds is still a lot of cutting time. But a normal 12 gallon or up and it will work fine.
@@DIY_Mike-rm5we I actually bought one! But I think you need at least 7 CFM at 60 psi to really work well. Also needs plenty of power. I have 240…but with total 40 amp breakers…wont be running 50 amps. I have friend who bought one with one 15 amp in garage-that also powered lights compressor, etc He blew breaker every few minutes…not s miracle machine…but very good value for money. My Miller “consumables kit” costs more than this unit….
@@michaelmounts1269 I actually checked with the manufacturer and they told me the liters of air it needs. It amounts to about 2 cfm. As for electrical 240 volts, you can run full power on a 40 amp breaker. 40 amps AC is not the same as 50 amps DC, which is what the plasma cutter runs on. It only draws about 25 amps AC. A 30 amp breaker isn’t good because of power surges, but a 40 amp will work fine.
All of the wire standoffs I have found are too tall for the torch. I have tried both Amazon and Ebay.
