- Relax and enjoy the meticulous polish of a well worn 2013 Yacht Master 40. This watch has a stunning bright blue dial and is dressed in Rolesium, Rolex’s proprietary platinum alloy. We received this piece into the store and immediately knew it would need to be polished to restore the full beauty of this timepiece. The watch had been polished in the past but we were confident that our skilled polisher would bring it back to us looking like a million bucks.
The refinishing process of this watch requires a number of specialist processes including laser welding, sand blasting, lapping, steaming and ultrasonic cleaning. Firstly, the case and bracelet are disassembled and then the movement is carefully removed. This allows each part to be refinished individually for maximum precision. After the refinishing is complete and the watch is reassembled, it is pressure tested to ensure that waterproof seals are fully functional.
Watchtrader & Co are an established family owned business with a boutique store based in Newcastle upon Tyne and a client base UK wide. They also have partner stores in London so you can buy, sell or upgrade your watch in a location that is convenient for you. With years of experience in the trade, they stock an impressive range of the hottest timepieces from leading luxury brands such as Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Richard Mille, Cartier, Tudor and more.

That feeling when you have just the right tool for a job.
and the knowledge.
Mainly, there is no point in having the tools and not knowing how to execute them.
@@127815gavfthat is the most absurd argument i ever heard.
Best feeling ever
It has a different style. He polished the glass without dismantling it. He did not disassemble the tube. He followed a different method for the bracelet. He did not remove the upper curtain of the blazer. Still, it is a good job.
Those are stunning results, fabulous work!
Before i could continue...in just a few minutes in i knew this guy was a perfectionist. Great work, i enjoyed this polishing... the music is well balanced out with the video.
He did a great job but I would not call him a perfectionist - the tell is at the end where he puts the watch together, pressing the springbar of the clasp with his nail scratching the edge of the clasp, the same goes with putting in the springbars connecting the watch to the case - pressing them against the case while compressing = making scratches on the inside of the lugs. Factory finish is PERFECTION, this is just a VERY GOOD job ;)
That's subjective@@PoltergeistWorks

Fantastic restoration and outstanding workmanship
Glad you enjoyed it Mark
@@Watchtraderuseful video. Thanks.
What was the pink spray coating for?
Man that was awesome to watch such a work of art much respect for the skilled polisher!! I have been so scared to wear my yacht master because of scratching it now I know wear to take it to get polished! You have a new subscriber!
Amazing job, there is something insanely satisfying about restoring a thing back to its glory.
Fascinating how much work goes in to polishing! That lad has definitely done that before!!
I am deeply impressed by the confidence in handling with it, the skills, the machinery and the final effect ❤
Fantastic restoration & so incredibly satisfying to watch !
Much respect. That is some crazy skills and workmanship to restore the watch back to shine. I could never do anywhere as close to a good job like this piece here. And the sheer amount of tools and machineries to perform the job can seem daunting but man, you're awesome to masterfully use them to perfection
Just bought a yacht master, very reassuring to know there’s craftsmanship of this quality in the UK. Great watch.
Great work , you gave it a brand new life. Good craftsmanship, love to see someone going the extra steps to make something look nice
Brilliant video. I just picked up a 2014 YM it was beat to chit when i saw it in the showroom, after 2 days with the watch maker it looked like this restoration. Perfect.
Such an art using sticky tape with rubber gloves on. A skilled workman 👍
Absolutely stunning job, loved it!
Absolutely incredible!! Unbelievable skill and craftsmanship.
That's a very professional job. This guy knows what he is doing.
In your videos you say to a customer about polishing and it almost feels casual and then you see this and realise it is anything but! Welding new material to cover the divots in the case, then polishing so that all the original lines and crispness of the case are maintained and then, that Platinum bezel! It is both the thing I love and loath most about the yachtmaster!
Love it because it is a wonderful look and loath it because that sandblasted finish is so easy to scratch!
What an artisan the chap is.
What is wonderful as well is that the owner really wore the watch, no safe queen this one, worn as a Rolex should be worn! Best video you have made thus far, thank you!
Thanks for the positive comment. It helps when you guys let us know the kind of content that you’re into. Like you said, it’s nice to see a pre loved watch that’s been worn regularly without hesitation from it’s owner. Glad we could share the process of bringing the watch back to it’s former glory.
It's unbelievable how many machines you have.
Great video! It was so fascinating to watch. I truly enjoyed watching your craftmanship/expertise in getting that watch looking immaculate again.
Glad to hear it
Loved this! Very therapeutic to watch 🚀
Thanks Jamie
Wow this video was so interesting, lovely to see the work involved in restoring a watch to its former glory. Amazing skill and craftsmanship thanks for the video.
Glad you like it, thanks for watching 👊
And now I know…phenomenal….love your craft …it is worth it to have it done right…and you have all the tools.❤
Incredible work! Refinishing watches is genuinely one of my favourite things to do!
Thanks for tuning in Jason 👊
Jason are you in the US? Do you have references?
The bezel on my 16622 has an incredibly irritating scuff or what almost appears to be a polish mark on the sandblasted part of it, bought it that way and it drives me INSANE.
I took it to Rolex AD and he told me it wasn’t worth it as they wouldn’t just service the bezel, it’s a “complete “ service, of course 🙄 which means expensive. They basically told me to leave it alone as it’s not that bad
Amazing to see the transformation
Beautiful work mate!
Please make more or these! I've seen this like 10 times
amazing job, so satisfying to watch! keep on the great work
It was satisfying to watch the watch being satisfied 😅
Very satisfying video to watch. It is a huge investment with all the special tools you need to make a watch as new again. Look forward to see more. Thnx for uploading this video.
That's TLC boys! Love this kind of episode. Really enjoy watching polishing ( more than servicing. ) Thanks!
Appreciate the feedback Michael
Yo tengo un longines hydroconquest dónde puedo limpiar la maquinaria y todo
A joy to see meticulous skilled workmanship bringing a watch back to like-new condition. I would never have realised all the equipment, tools, and chemicals required in addition to the patient craftsmanship. Would be curious to know long it took from start to finish, and how much it cost the client. Great job!
Very good quality videography. Keeps getting better.
Best Watch channel around
Thank you 🙏
Looks brand new. Excellent work.
Recently just treated myself to an IWC Pilot Chronograph 43. My first luxury watch. Watching this I can really understand the cost of servicing/refurbishing now. A lot of skill and tooling involved.
Amazing , therapy watching a great tradesman at work.
Thanks Jo
Brilliant video lads 😍
Excellent, perfect service, congratulations.
Jack has certainly upped his game lol
Brilliantly done 👍🏻
professionalism at its finest
Nothing like a gifted professional
For a minute I thought the bezel was going to be pink….lol. Awesome work mate, great skill.
Perfect work, really nice to see!
Thank you very much!
Another great video guys , a great start to my day 👍
Thank you Kevin
Outstanding ... Professional from start to finish and the end result speaks for itself ...
Brilliant work
Awesome work and result 👌🏽
One word:Impressive.
The most professional full watch restoration I have ever seen !
The level of detail and superb craftsmanship is a sight to behold, furthermore, I was very impressed with the amount and quality of the tools/machinery used in the video...
I would love to send my dad's (who has sadly passed from complications and poor care from the doctors who were charged for his care) Omega Seamaster Chronometer w/Omega Caliber 1120 Movement (1995 James Bond version) in all stainless steel (36mm version) w/White Dial...Ref: 2552.20
If it's not too expensive to do so, I would like to do a full restoration.
Again, it has more sentimental value to me than physical value (although it is worth in the neighborhood of $3K to $4K)
It would be a great watch to pass it on to my Son.
Oh by the way, I'm in the Greater Danbury Connecticut USA currently, so the watch would have to be shipped unless there is an excellent watchmaker in this part of the woods...
Thanks gents.
Love your work.
Content is fire - keep it coming! Love it!
Thanks a lot Allen
Fascinating to watch, great video.
Cheers Andy
Wow très belle restoration 👏🏽
True master at work👍🏻
Such a beautiful watch. Doesn’t seem to get the love that others Rolex sports models do. Great skill on show. !!
You’re right, however, the Yacht-Master 40 has been picking up steam
@@Watchtrader I'm biased. I have one lol.
This is a art no doubt but the amount of different machines needed for the cleaning for different parts of watches is remarkable.
A master at work 👏
Very nice work, congratulations
Well done. Looks like new. I enjoyed every second. 👍
Prof level! Fascinating !!
Amazing work
Fantastic work.
My god why is that so satisfying to watch I must be getting old
Haha thanks Glen
Wuaooo what an interesting video , great stuff , loved it , keep up the good work
Thanks for letting us know Jose
Lovely job
Awesome job 👍🏼
INCREDIBLE
Excellent work
I didn’t see in the comments about pricing. I’m sure you get it cheaper but what would this cost me? Phenomenal work.
Super Polished 👌
Man, that watch has been lived through. It is the way.
LOVED IT!
Glad to hear it Ronnie 👊
Nice work!
respect for your nice work
Awesome job!
Thanks, great video.
Glad you liked it
What a labour of love
Very Very GOOOD!!!!!
So chill
Perfection!
Great job! Wow.
That's was amazing 👍
Where can I send my watch to get polished like this- great job 👏
Very impressive!
According to the watch. It took 10.5 hours to polish. Incredible amount of time, every second beautifully placed. Well done.
Are you sure you trust it? It may have drifted almost half a second within those hours and still be within its chronometer certification. That’s why I like quartz
@@stealdst@stealdst I'm a watch restorer and jeweler. Sometimes it took me more than 18 hours to polish ONE watch. It's not that simple even with the right tools. Sometimes, we also have to do some manual work (without power tools) for filing, sanding, reshaping, etc. And for brittled vintage watches or expensive watches like Patek Philippe, A Lange Sohne, etc. it will take more time because we need to be extra careful.
I was making a (bad) joke about how a mechanical watch can drift a few seconds in a day, not doubting the time it takes for something like this. I don’t like quartz watches either 😂
Beautiful work.. great craftsmanship.. could the small pins be rebuffed as well, that would be perfect
um that would be a bit obsessive...no?
Beautiful
What a job amazing talent and vidéo
Super cool!!
Hypnotising!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing craftsmanship
Amazing job of polishing. Tools is very proper. Maybe you can also clean out the spring bar, especially those from the links. They looks black and need proper clealing too. But overall, amazing job 👍👍
Amazing skills.
Loved it 👊
Think I need to get out more
😂 Keep it real James
Wow just wow 👌 👏
N106 bezel protector ftw.
Putting that bracelet back on, I'd probably scratch it to F all over again!
very interesting. Thank you
Glad you think so
Fascinating to watch.
And very calming too.
Stunning!!
That’s awesome to know that can be done. I’m always worried I’ll scratch mine up. But why have it if you can’t wear it.
