Titan Cup 1996 a must win match for both teams - India vs Australia @ Bangalore. Local boys Anil Kumble and Javagal Srinath turn it on for India with a superb match winning partnership when everyone thought the match was all but over at 164/8 chasing 216. The crowd was now holding its breath in anticipation. They sensed something remarkable happening; something which cricket fans of that era were not quite used to. At this point, the cameras panned on to two ladies - mother and grandmother of Anil Kumble - sitting with nervous smiles on their faces in the crowd. #titancup #kumblesrinathpartnership #kumblemother With each further run scored, the camera would keep focusing back to the ladies’ reaction; the smiles on their faces were widening with every passing minute. It was superb entertainment and Kumble's mother would have been proud of her son's performance.
Srinath finished on an unbeaten 30 off 23 balls and Kumble ended with 16 from 19 balls. Tendulkar was declared as the Man of the Match, but for the crowd, Srinath and Kumble were the heroes of the day. The match would go down in Indian cricketing history as one of the most thrilling contests. And India would eventually go on to win the Titan Cup beating South Africa in the final.

O God !! It surprises me that I remember this game so clearly even though I was 5 years old. My mother was taking God's name on every delivery during this partnership. She was saying "For the sake of his mother, please let India win this match" we all jumped when India won. She even made Carrot halwa celebrating this win. ❤️❤️
There was similar match during this time where Srinath was involved in last overs against Pakistan and hit a boundary to finish the game. I had never seen Inzamam running that fast in his entire life. He had to jump above advertising hoardings after ball crossed the boundary line.
    Those were the days ❤️😊

    Golden days of Cricket,
So many amazing players in all the teams,
    Australia southafrica were almost invincible,
Srilanca and Pakistan were also very good in limited overs,
But India was the most passionate team, with the most passionate crowd and supporters ever,
The bowling standard of Top teams was Lethal,
Thats why Sachin Tendulkar is incomparable with anyone of the current crop of players..
Because quality of bowling was amazing those days,
And winning against Australia and Southafrica were like big achivements those by any team..

This was one of the bravest partnership that Odi cricket would have ever seen.
Also, to be noted, this partnership made 52 runs in 6.5 overs.
    Greater than 100 strike rate

Today is 21st Oct 2019 same day in 1996 this match was played. This match have so many memories it was interrupted by crowd because they felt India will loose and then came the partnership between Kumble and Srinath. More pride was seeing Kumbles mother and grandmother watching India winning the match.

Watching in 2019, still remember those moments, I was in school then, what a great joy it was and what a moment for Indian cricket. We were so nervous when Tendulkar got out and then were thinking India will loose, but Kumble and Srinath did almost a miracle out there in those times. Each ball and each run was cheered in those low scoring matches, not like now when there is heap of runs scored and bowlers are bashed around.
