The big problem with cricket is that 999 times out of of 1000 things will happen just as expected. That 1000th time when somebody steps up and changes the rules and beats impossible odds makes it all worthwhile. Forty something years later I still can hardly believe this happened. Not entirely unique but perhaps a once in 20 years event.

I remember seeing this match live. When Rahul Dravid came to the crease, our power went off. And I told my brother jokingly, “oh man not Dravid, we probably won’t even make 300 now”. And then the power comes back on the 49th over and we were both shocked! I remember that’s all we spoke about in school the next day. Good times!

I miss the days where they only had a camera at one end. Seeing the bowler running in from the batsman's view put a different perspective on the bowling. In particular seeing the bowlers face, especially if they're an aggressive fast bowler.
