  • 🌊 Ahoy, fellow adventurers, and welcome back to a new episode on the @SailingProsperity channel!
The scent of crisp sea air tinged with pine needles fills my lungs. We've charted a new course, leaving behind the fast lane to Central Europe. With fresh plans tucked under our hats, we continue sailing along the breathtaking Norwegian coast, anticipating building as we approach a hidden gem - a natural harbor just outside the charming town of Lillesand.
Dreams of crackling firelight illuminating faces around a dockside bonfire fill our minds. We picture ourselves paddling across the glassy cold surface of the harbor on brightly colored paddleboards, the icy water lapping playfully at our toes.
However, the whimsical nature of exploration often throws unexpected curveballs. Our initial excitement soon morphs into another desperate search for the most basic necessity - water. Our reserves dwindle faster than anticipated, and a sense of urgency creeps in. Just as worry begins to cast a long shadow, a beacon of hope emerges - Lillesand Seilforening, the local sailing club.
Imagine our relief as we approach the club, a haven for fellow seafarers. We envision welcoming smiles and outstretched hands, a testament to the camaraderie that binds those who share a love for the sea.
But the story doesn't end there. As fate would have it, our quest for water might just lead us on a thrilling escapade. Perhaps, touched by our predicament, the kind folks at Lillesand might offer a once-in-a-lifetime experience - a tour on a majestic rescue boat.
This introduction sets the stage for an unforgettable journey. It paints a vivid picture of breathtaking scenery, unexpected challenges, and the heartwarming generosity of strangers. With a blend of anticipation, adventure, and a touch of apprehension, we eagerly await what awaits us in this charming corner of Norway.
Buckle up, for the exploration is just beginning!

The Norwegian coast is something special, for sure. Wondrous to see how houses are constructed amid the tortuous slopes and boulders of the fjords. Looks dangerous, though, passing through all the rocks! Next, we're walking in a wonderland, such a pretty forest interwoven with streams. At the Lillesand harbor, the dearth of yachts makes, as you said, a dramatic contrast with the gridlock of your previous visit, when you had to anchor in the bay (s23 e21). Now, the whole place is yours! Both visits were lovely. Seline looking after Karoline, as mom no doubt is busy. I like Viktoria's rock collecting project. I hope she will collect seashells (from tropical beaches?) as well. Kudos to the folks who helped you out with water! Loving every episode.

Hi Frank, thanks again:) Yes, this is also one of the reasons we chose this route instead of crossing Skagerak. Lots of hidden gems to explore. And yes, it is nervewrecking to pass through these narrow places, but we are used to it, and have high detailed maps. And in the winter there are almost no other boats, and that makes it a lot easier:) Viktoria sure has a special interest for stones and seashells, so we have our hands full with limit her collection;) But it will grow for sure;) And she must weigh evey stone as part of our homeschooling tasks, we think it is a good way of turning education into our daily lives instead of just reading books.
