Setting Sail from a Fairytale Harbor hoping to get necessary food and water
Our little adventurers, having spent the night nestled in this sheltered cove, were abuzz with the salty tang of a new day. After a playful breakfast and time spent mimicking campfire chefs, toasting marshmallows over the crackling fireplace and calling them "smoors" with infectious giggles, it was time to bid farewell to this magical haven.
Our first destination: Mandal, a charming coastal town promising a chance to restock our supplies - essential for any voyage, especially when traveling with a crew who munches through snacks like a school of hungry piranhas. But Mandal, it seemed, wasn't quite prepared for our thirst. Despite reaching out to the friendly harbor guards, their water resources proved limited, leaving our water tanks disappointingly empty.
Undeterred, we set sail once more, the vast canvas of the ocean beckoning us forward. While the crisp sea air held a playful nip, keeping outdoor adventures at bay, we knew this wasn't a time to be discouraged. Instead, the kids retreated to the cozy cabin, transforming it into a haven for youthful amusement. Curious minds had so much toys, the boat was surrounded by them. Laughter echoed as board games were unearthed, each roll of the dice sparking a flurry of cheers and playful groans.
The lull in the journey offered a glimpse into the world our little voyagers create for themselves when the weather forces them below deck. Here, amidst the comforting creak of the boat and the rocking of the waves, imaginations take flight.
Finally, after a day spent traversing the coastline, we arrived at the picturesque port of Ny-Hellesund. Here, the promise of adventure returned. Disembarking with a renewed sense of purpose, we piled into our trusty dinghy and set off on a quest. Our destination: a legendary landmark, a silent sentinel guarding these shores for centuries - a stoned troll, a relic from a bygone era, waiting to be discovered.
With eager eyes scanning the shoreline, we navigated the calm waters, anticipation building with every passing moment. And then, there it was - the unmistakable form of the troll, weathered and stoic, a testament to the enduring power of myth and legend. As we clambered ashore, the thrill of discovery was palpable, a reward for our exploration and a reminder that even the shortest journeys can hold hidden wonders.
So, join us as we navigate the churning waters of the North Sea.

Well, that's a problem: water not so easy to find! The water-maker will be a precious addition. Katrin enjoying her last(?) excursions with a baby child. :-) A lot of toys, lol, but at least everyone likes girl toys. Exquisite sunset scene at 15:20. Trolls were not nice guys, but you can feel for this one. He liked to chase fish so much, he forgot how late it was! Made it back to shore too late. Nice to get a Sunday episode. 🙂
Yeah,the water issue is a bit larger than we planned for. Yes that's true,the kids grow up so fast. And that makes us even more happy about our choice of lifestyle,that we get to spend more time with our kids :) Sunsets like that is not to normal during winter in these areas,due to a lot of clouds,rain and snow,so that was a nice evening, even with surprising Troll at the beach:)
