I just spent 5k on my dog's bad knee. Sitting here with her cone on her head out in the garage. She don't get it. She just wants to play. We are here listening to you ... killing time until she can run and jump like she and I live for. Thanks for us killing time in a good way. Keep it on!
Comforting scritches to your pup!
Helpful tip…..look for an aqua therapy facility for your pup…..after the cone and stitches come out try swimming therapy for recovery…..used it on 2 of my pups and they recovered with full range of motion and strength thanks to the swimming therapy.
What kind of dog is she and how old? Which surgery did she have? I'm 6 weeks into my dogs recovery from TPLO knee surgery. She is a 7 year old 116LB Cane Corso/Presa Canario. Vet says that they did a number of surgeries around the time she had hers and they say she was the biggest dog and is having the best recovery. After exactly one week it was like a light switch and she was done with recovery and wanted to go up and down short 5-6 step flights of stairs(split level house). But I did not let her for a few more weeks. She has been basically back to normal after 4 weeks, I'm not sure she is ready to jump up into the car quite yet, she tried a week ago before I could stop her and needed some help getting all the way in the car. So I gotta pickup her bigass if I need to take her somewhere still. Keep up with your vets instructions for recovery and therapy as best you can. Make sure you use up all the medications they prescribe for your dog. I hope she has a great recovery!
