- Hatz is strong but very risky to play, you make a mistake in a fight and it can be the end of you quick, yeah it can kill small things easily but ONLY if it grabs them, which can be hard to do if your prey uses common sense and looks for the wind up, not only that but only like 5 creatures are small enough for a hatz to grab in the official roster, otherwise it has to fight in order to eat, which is again fun but very punishing if you don't play wisely, but its very strong.

if you look up hategate island on youtube you’ll get a pretty good idea of what hatz was like in real life
compared to quetz hatz is more bulky and stronger and heavier meanwhile quetz is lighter and larger in looks so they’re pretty accurate compared to real life

A tip for raptors with pounce:
When a Hatz grabs to drop you, you are in the air so you have the ability to pounce. Make sure you time it right or immediately pounce when they drop you. Then you can attack the person’s Hatz. You can’t always die by a Hatz >:)

I use normal peck instead of stab or clamp as it does 65 dmg and it’s the only head ability you can use in the air, also for some reason it regents stam

Yeah quetz is definitely more mobile, I think hatz’ calls and overall raw power is better tho, but quetz is definitely able to kill bigger things a lot more efficiently

I honestly never understood this weird obsession Hatz players have with baby killing, especially since they have the easiest time getting to/finding static corpses. I've raised mine on official and not once did I have to hunt any babies.
And I get the desire to pvp, but then baby killing isn't very... Entertaining? I mean you hardly have to do anything, especially when you aim at bbs like a rex or a bars. It's just easy and how is that fun?
The only reason that'd make sense to me is because people get off of being jerks, and I think a lot of players share that assumption. I just can't really find any other reason, unless you wanna go hyper realistic but plenty of bb killing Hatz who will kill right next to a corpse so... Eh.
This was on a semi realism server, so babies are a little easier to grow. I don’t usually baby kill either but at the time hatz had just released and I was mostly testing the grab abilities. I 100% see your point though. I don’t kill babies on officials at all unless they start it lol. But yeah, sorry, this one was on a server with rules and easier grow times and I was trying out the new abilities.

No no you’re fine lol! Besides being guilty in my opinion is normal and I see it as a sort of positive thing to have. Better than being prideful over certain things. I can definitely see people being annoyed with baby killers of any type on officials lol. Don’t worry though, when I ever grow a hatz on officials finally, I won’t be that guy XD.

Its very good for damage and killing small things EXCEPT raptors, and it has very poor hp and recovery however, so land combat against bigger things usually wont go extremely well if they play smart. Ive tried 1v1ing a rex, and a giga TWICE, and Ive lost all three, because if you make one mistake youre pretty much dead, hatz has to be running to take off and it takes the longest time out of any playables to accelerate on the ground. So, imo pretty balanced. High-risk-high-reward type creature.
@@dtbrex08 use the movement speed ability so you can take off faster
@@dtbrex08 and when they fix the slick feathers ability raptors will be balanced

That poor kentro 😅 this reminds me of when I had some mixpackers trying to kill my adult sucho in the water for over 20 mins. They would just not leave me alone. That was much worse though bcuz mixpack ofc. The little kentro could have won, if it did more hit and run. They have good bleed. Nice fight though 😎.
Yup, I have a natural dislike for kentro so I was VERY determined 🤣 thanks a lot! Sad how annoying some players are in this game.

Hatz are great. I think they should make them slower on land though.
Theyre already slow enough on land imo, plus they accelerate super slow. Even an apex can chase you down if you mke a mistake during a fight or get stuck on something.
And it’s difficult to get off the ground especially right out of combat so I’m glad they are not slower. If you try to take off too soon you’ll hop and waste more precious stam. These are meant to be able to complete on land, not sitting ducks
Its still not great on land even with that, its acceleration is so slow, combined with its bad hp and you have to be quick to escape or youre doomed.
Honestly I'm glad tgey nerfed peck barrage, now you have to be more crafty with your combat approach in contrast to hitting your face rapidly into your enemy.
I honestly didnt think it needed a nerf, if anything stab needed a longer cooldown, I mean hatz cant take damage very well so the only thing youre “easily” killing is like metris and smaller if theyre good, anything else can fight you pretty well if youre good, and fighting a good apex solo is a death sentence lol
My experience with this guy has been dogshit so far, died 3 times in a row not by falling, not by some apex but by pouncing fuckin raptors, I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but whenever I got pounced it’s legit over, no chance in fighting back just gotta sit there and take it, guess I gotta learn more with it or it’s just not the Dino for me.
Run in a circle and use peck barrage you'll hit em and stack the dmg while the lil shits are on your bacn which pounce is still so op
Fly...when they run out of stam midair they'll fall
@user-em6iu8ej3c If they pounce you while you are on the ground you can't take off. Fly is replaced with shaking them off. Could try flying when they run out of stam and they fall off though.
@@user-em6iu8ej3c that’s the thing, flying with that dino you need a head start to fly and once you get pounced the option to fly is no longer an option because it’s now focused on gettin the little bastard off your back, as that happens your running like a headless chicken letting that bleed just eat you away, or if you suggest standing there to shrug them off your only leaving yourself wide open for something to finish you off while the raptor still stacking damage. So no you can’t just fly away🗿
@@GobblerJohn omg it really is, I’m not over exaggerating when I say getting pounced is a death sentence, since I play on servers that practically have no rules except for fighting and killing in safe zones, the effort to fend them off gets harder since you can stumble across one and get bombarded by one or two more that aren’t even in groups with the first shit stain that attacked, but i will take your advice cuz I really do wanna try and get better with this dino, I liked playin the quetz I wanna like playin this one for Christ sake lol

I wasnt cheating, it mightve been hard to tell but I was moving my camera to the side’s sometimes so I could hear better for footsteps, and I just kept walking in the same direction and would eventually hear the hiss sound when it sits down, so I knew it had to have been resting in a bush nearby.

Sorry if hatz is mostly a baby-killer lol I don’t often kill babies at all. Also I hid chat just for privacy reasons for other people just in case they don’t wanna be on CZcams, and was too lazy to make it only block chat when chat was on screen instead of just throughout the whole video 🫤 also just to clarify this video is like multiple months old so hatz had just released a couple days before this video came out, which is also why I was killing babies (to test the new grab abilities).
