Thanks for taking the time to video your jobs!!! Take care Steve and miss Molly!!
What I like most about this channel: Steve is helicopter friendly; good golly he’s got Miss Molly; and the truck is louder than a Goodman! Glad that Steve is workin, momma!!
I never really minded helicopters myself but they will slow you down.
Steve is friendly whenever there's not a shit show going on. Keep it easy peasy lemon skweezy momma
i'm not a pro, just an interested amateur, and it was sooo hard not to hover when i had a change out done on my house last month. i'm just curious about the process!!! but I know technicians don't like it so I just kept out of their way
Be nice and speak with them since charging by the hour.
It may just be a simple fix, but successful troubleshooting never gets old. Another quality job, Steve!
I love his accent. The conpressahhh takes a chahhge, but the capahhhsitahh’s not wohhkin’.
Good morning Steven, appreciate all you time and effort in producing these video-Thanks for the reality shows, Cali. Fan and sub.
Knowledge is priceless. Learned something new today. PCBs and Vegetable oil in the caps. Cool! Feed us more.
I had a unit that I started servicing and every few months the cap would die. I tried different brands, replaced contactor, replaced wiring. After the third time, I looked up the motor specs.. Someone before me had replaced with the wrong size cap. 30/5 vs 35/7.5.. Lesson learned....
Thanks for showing me how to check and change this part, my AC is back working again. You were right about super hot days taking a toll on them, 2 100° days in a row and poof it died.
The Capacitor Channel.
Anti DIY HVAC is the clogged drain channel.
@@picklerix6162 4 sure
We’re gonna need a bigger bucket.
Better than the "you need a new unit" channel lol
Goodman keep Steve working yo
Thank you very much for your video it was very helpful was able to fix my problem again thanks 😊
Goodman units are notorious for having compressors that pull high amps on start up. Can eat caps away pretty easily. Always check the LRAs
"Good looking girl with a lot of money" LMAO ain't that the truth
“Should have that in the truck” never has such a short phrase sound so good..🤑
Our 1991 Lennox AC - about 29 years old, which we use about 2 1/2 to 3 months in summer (Canadian capital summers), is still working: No tune-ups other than self-maintenance, no charge issues and never replaced original capacitor (with PCB?) since day one, but I'm keep a replacement capacitor handy - just in case! Thanks for the videos, Steven. Also enjoy watching your chihuahua as we own couple of them.
they don't make em' like that anymore. Having a capacitor on hand that fits your unit is a great idea
29yrs with 2.5mths of use. Makes sense. 5 mths of use here and we are lucky to get 20yrs out of the systems
@@WeatherNut27 so far so good, knock on wood!
I have voltage coming out of the capacitor and still nothing working. Bad compressor?
Unit looks brand new wow
Great Video. Have a nice weekend. Thank you for sharing ^_^
Nice job and video
This is awesome content
How often should these things be checked out on a routine basis? Should it be twice a year? Once in the spring and again in the fall? I am talking about routine checkups by a pro. I had an expensive newly bought washing machine for 5 years that stopped working. Had someone come out who needed to order a part for it. About a week later I got a call and they told me that my washing machine is obsolete. Not only did my machine not have any parts made for it anymore but the machine wasn't made anymore. While I was able to get a new washing machine because I had American Home Shield warranty which covered it, I found that to be crazy! If I did have AMS I would have been in trouble. So I have learned to ask if these machines as going to be discontinued or are the machines still being made, etc. Such a shame too. What a waste. Machines used to last forever, but companies have learned that if their products don't last, then consumers will have to purchase another product from them. So they make more money. I don't want to buy anything that is going to be discontuined after a couple of years, can't get parts for, etc.
I don't understand why people let there a/c's or furnaces run when they don't work they don't heal by themselves need Dr. Steve for a house call.
Some people let them keep running is because they are not paying for the repairs.
Cause there’s billions of people in the world and most of them don’t give a shit about air units
Miss Molly has been staying at home keeping check on Steve's A/C. Yeah the fellow is right nothing is made good like it used to be.
Beer can cold mama! 👍 Next Level, Next Level
Thank u....
Charge is good . I can tell by looking at it 😂😂
You should tell them the capacitor gives it the rotating magnetic field to start spinning.
I write size + date on caps
Steve has anyone wanted to buy a part from you, and then found they needed a new system, and bought it from some other company? Has happened to me. What's your thoughts. Great videos sir.
Massachusetts in the building. That accent
120 in Lake Havasu city Az.
Easy is good! I’d rather change a capacitor and tell them they are good to go, then have to tell them their compressor is internally grounded and it’s a no go!
Steve what brand of toilet bowl bolts from the supply house do you use? The all brass ones.
Setfast. I use them as well.
I guess I was a little too harsh on Goodman in a past comment I made. All they do is eat up capacitors but run great anyway.
i don't think the oil type that makes capacitor went bad. it's the capacitor itself that were cheaped out to make it cheaper. a well known brands like ASC (Shizuki for Japan market), KEMET, Epcos, etc should be a lot better than cheap chinese caps
From what I've seen the AmRad caps seem to be the best (made in America.) Checked out a 24 year old Rheem system today cause they just wanted it looked at to make sure it's okay. It still had its original AmRad cap in it from 1997 and was still full at 35/5. I was extremely impressed
Steve, you can get multiple indoor units on a minisplit.
Yes you can
@museack You only need one hole per indoor unit if they're on the outside wall.
Buy a box car load of caps and hose bibs. save money!!!!!
I’m Believing The Capacitor.
How much did you charge for replacing that?
$155, I guess
do you warranty capacitors if so how long?
Red light warranty. As long as you can see the red lights on the back of his ice cream truck as he's driving away, mama.
In 2011 we brought a new goodman heat pump. In 10 years we had to replace the conpresser 4 times. Not happy warrenter went in 2021. I think this not right. Ac man wanted even returned our call. Who had conpresser go 4 times in 10 years.
Mine just went out. And it’s the cost of another unit to fix the compressor
My ac is just 5 years old
What was up with the guy scratching his ass while you were working on the unit?
How about a deaf and dumb nymphomaniac that owns a liquor store, there Steve.
Compressor didn’t staaahhht.
Did the compressor come on?? Lol
YE OLDE BUCKET OF CAPS MAMA.
Steve , we need a chicken vlog !
This guy has never heard of "lemon squeezy"...pshhh
Why do you wear a mask.... i could never understand it. 🤣🤣🤣 Great video, Steve, almost time to replenish the capacitor bucket.
Chinese capicator are garabage. American made capicator are way better.
But you pay less for cheaper ones
1. Condenser Coil (IS) Dirty! You will NOT get proper Readings .....(The right thing to do.
2. Start The shit Up (YOURSELF)....
Asking your Customer to do it for you shows..... your (LAZINESS).
Practice Better Practices.
First!
I kust watched his last ten vids and all he does is change caps and changes systems smh easy money but its much much more to be a hvac tech smh
That's just what happens to be his service calls this summer. Caps are the most common failure on a unit these days. Go back and look at the years and years of videos Steve has done on HVAC repairs and installs and you'll see that he's WAY more than just a parts changer guy.
He posts a video everyday. The majority of his work right now is routine, cap/gas and go. We watch for the entertainment factor of Steve interacting with the situation and his customers.
In this video, the customer comments on how easy the job was. Steve squashes that notation quickly and adds in a joke to change the subject. Couple hundred dollar bill for an hour of work (including drive time) and Steve smoothes it over.
m ph guy is paying for the diagnosis as well as the fix. It’s easy to replace a wire a mouse ate through, but if you don’t know what to look for, you don’t know what to do.
@@mph5896 Tue, and Steve's joke is that you want it to be easy. Any time you're dealing with a tradesman/mechanic and the job is hard or involved, you gonna be eating beans and rice for a few weeks.
