From my experience of travelling extensively in Himalayas (13000-19000ft), always carry some oxygen. When you have severe headache, that extra oxygen really helps. Also, a lot of people here use Diamox (easily available in India, not sure about US).
Last and the most important thing, when in high altitudes, please drink lots and lots and lots of water.

Finally got to pickup my,Gypsy! It took awhile, 10 months to be exact, but it was well worth it. Mike and his Son's craftsmanship is great. A couple of minor electrical problems, but I was able to fix them. I love this camper and look forward to many years making many many memories in it. Well done,Mike!

We just moved to Colorado in castle Rock. Taking the same drive 3x we found another new way to explore. It’s amazing each trip to find new adventures.

Watching your Colorado adventure for the second time, I couldn't help but notice the deer so close when you made and were eating the carne asada. I think those deer wanted to try some 😁
I love the San Juans. I've been many times. Im glad I could just enjoy the scenery and trails without having to video and give a narrative of the beautiful area it is. I go back every year for Elk Hunting. The work it takes to make a video like this must be very challenging. Great video, sir. Hat's off to you both. I had a 91 toyota 4WD extra cab pick up on 33s. It went anywhere I wanted it too.
I & my parents have come 3x’s in over 20 yrs, I love it so much & hope I can come back one day on my own to hit the trails when I have my own 4x4 vehicle.
As a High altitude rescue dude, try "Diamox" helps with acclamation, (24/48hrs) it also a diuretic and "will" make you pee, but will help in emergency situations, . . . However going down in elevation, several 1000 ft in altitude helps too . . .

I enjoyed watching this adventure in Colorado. The first time I went to Rocky Mountain National Park, at over 8,000 feet, altitude sickness was no joke especially with a pounding headache that refused to go away while in higher elevation. Had to go below 8,000 to rest my head. After a few days I felt fine at over 12K feet elevation.
Interesting video as always , you get so many camera angles from long distances . Great views . My husband and I love watching . We are seniors .

N. Carolina is a Beautiful place also, You can climb Mt. Mitchel (By Foot), the tallest mountain on this side of the Mississippi River, you can see 6 states on a clear day. I'v climbed it 2 or 3 times.. Put this on your list. It's Beautiful.

I didn’t realize that this was over an hour long. Watching this “movie” makes me really regret selling my 2022 T4R TRD OR-P w/KDSS and 360° camera. I have always wanted to go Overlanding since watching you and Swellrunner build out your 4Runners.
That insulated cover for the Helinox chair looks cool. I already have a couple of those chairs.

Epic adventure with a cool friend. The food alone drew me into your adventure, however, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history segments. I regret selling my properties in Pagosa Springs. The San Juan Mountains are incredibly beautiful. Kevin, if you ever take your family to Durango take them on the Silverton Narrow Gauge Train ride. It is a spectacular ride.

I have end stage heart and lung failure and had to move away from Utah because of the general high altitude. All of the symptoms you described made it impossible for me. I recently returned and stayed in the Grand Canyon campground and nearly died as I didn’t realize the 9000+ altitude. So I can certainly relate to your rough night with altitude sickness

Amazing video! I love the atmosphere you guys created, and the slightly positive spin, with the honesty about the tent. Ouch!, I have the falcon 2, it did fine in the rain, I would be unhappy if it didn’t!
Slam the water to counteract the altitude sickness. Start hydrating a day before you go up. Drink, drink, drink! Avoid caffeine, it’s a diuretic.
We did this too but then I was up peeing every hour! LOL

I’ve always gotten headaches in the high country, but it makes my mom sick feeling like the flu, so it affects people differently then another!!
I had purchased an emergency O2 bottle from Walmart. It did help with the head ache.
Added those to our kit after this trip!
Man do I love watching your video's, all the little things you share even with out words, like moving the leveling rocks when you leave your camp. Or subtle reminders to not feed the critters. I really love how you use the propane grill for night fires and the cooking! I need to find the "rock" as I use lava rocks now, but they have a lot of dust. I am also wondering how you pack it up and what size of propane tank you use, like on this trip? Have to admit I missed the family especially the little one, so cute and beautiful! Again thanks for sharing!

Yeah there are several points, like the hammer, and the tent leaks that ive def seen before.
This is a combination of past episodes for a longer format video. For some reason these "movies" do 500% better than the episodes and reach a whole new audience. Lots of folks like to rewatch the adventures without hunting the right order of episodes so we'll drop these in from time to time. New episode coming this Thursday!

Was this filmed recently? I know some of the trails in the San Juan area are still closed due to the excessive snow. We are arriving to Ouray this coming Sunday and can't wait to hit some of the trails.

No, I never did chase that down. Even with the Torque Pro app, it required a special code to retrieve it.

Man, that altitude is no joke. I usually venture up to 12k once or twice a year... oddly enough and not science backed at all, it feels like going every year helps. The first two were the absolute worst of the past 15. Not sure what is going on there but just my experience.
