      Its the same thing evms still need people to go to the booth for voting and we know what happens there and there is also a use of huge number of people to do things so a well maintained well protected server based e voting can be used as a alternative in India i think its my opinion

      EVM is more viable as it reduces time and there is a reason it was introduced in 1990s because of reason such as booth capture, election rigging etc.
      To make it more secure they also attached VVPAT to let voters know whom they have voted

    When we'll able to vote online, we could vote for everything. It would be another step towards a utter democracy. The government should propose new laws and the citizens would vote for those laws. The vote will be immediately collected. Is it pretty good, right? Maybe the blockchain could realize this.

      I've been saying this for years. But they don't want to do it because it would completely invalidate the notion that we need elected representatives. They also don't want to do it because if everybody can vote from their phone and read the bills themselves then their job is worthless and moot. Also if you vote from your phone how are they going to cheat.

The biggest difference though is if you want online voting to actually be feasible it's better to actually have early voting count and have a confirmation number present

    • @rolandobaluja7504
      @rolandobaluja7504 Před 2 lety

      It is naive to think that online voting will always be hijacked if there's an authentication process such as making sure that individuals actually have to go on a site after have a printed copy with someone that they see via web camera to cover everything or it if they automatically have a confirmation number automatically have a PDF with their balance sent to them and a simple box in which someone can click on yes or no to confirm their results this also makes a big difference plus also having early voting counted ahead of time and maybe having an email to confirm where their ballot is or confirmed that they it shows online if there's a website to confirm their vote and how they voted during the election that would make a big difference it is possible it can flourish it is just downright idiotic and pessimistic to say that it's not feasible and that it's dust into fail the only thing is for it to succeed it cannot be done in a half-assed manner and needs logistic coordination it needs strategic investment and it needs to be structure correctly and possibly having some systematic changes to ensure that early votes are counted ahead of time

      @@rolandobaluja7504 Ummm not really. Equating voting online to the regular “secured” messages you receive online or regular access to a “secured” website is what’s naive imo. Voting decides the fate of a country and not an individual. This is isn’t your perfunctory web activity, and knowing this, the interest among interferring actors is highest during voting day.
      The web is more vulnerable compared to physically securing the ballot from the district precint all the way to ballot count centers or hub, or whatever it’s called.
      Yes diligence is a must if voting ever goes online (it’s a basic requirement actually), but someone who is more knowledgeable, shrewd, and equipped from elsewhere in the globe could meddle in the online process.

Keep in mind currently all the fraud that has occurred during elections none of it is election fraud via online voting
